Very disappointing given rating. It met all the basic needs, but was rundown. Paint peeling off the ways, tiles stained from years of use that they always look dirty. Wifi did not work well in the rooms due to the thick cement walls. Courtyard setup made for echoing sounds from reception through the hotel. Centrally located and basic but don't...

So we arrived at Xela with nowhere to stay on New Years day and after looking at a few hotels we found Villa del Centro, it was steps away from central park and most of the attractions and restaurants. The rooms were clean, spacious and quiet, beds were comfortable and warm given that temperatures drop to below 0 degrees Celcius...

Cozy, comfortable rooms. All facing an interior lobby which was half enclosed and the other half open for light. Great bed, lots of hot water and super wifi connection. Apparently a change in ownership so perhaps the name of the hotel has or will change soon. But, a super find only a 100 feet up the hill from the central...

I unexpectedly found myself in Xela due to a countrywide teachers strike. When I got off the bus and got in a cab, I asked the driver if he knew of a centrally located and affordable hotel for 2 nights. This was the first place he mentioned, and it looked good, so I got a room there. The evening concierge...

We spent six nights here in February 2011. The owners were friendly and helpful, The beds were firm and comfortable with nice warm blankets for chilly Xela nights. Hot water showers, flat panel cable TV, fast wi-fi, friendly, helpful, multi-linqual hosts and a great location with plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and banks within a few steps of the door....

We saw the good reviews on Tripadvisor and went to Flora Inn. Reservations were made in advance by e-mail and the Dutch owner responded promptly and friendly. The girl that was there when we arrived and left did not speak English. We talk some Spanish, so we survived, but it was not very convenient. Pro: good beds, television and the...

i stayed in a single room that smelled kind of mildewy but was really comfortable and spacious. the staff here are wonderful (though kind of noisy at night), there is free wifi, and the location can't be beat--just a block up from the central plaza. FYI--this is the former florencia hotel, so check the reviews for florencia in your guidebook.

After inspecting many other hotels in Xela, I was delighted to discover this rare gem just off the main square. It was truly a wonderful find. The rooms are smartly appointed, spotlessly clean and feel comfortable and homely. The owners went over and beyond the norm to assist in any capacity they could. My stay in Xela was made very...
