I spent a month here after living with a host family for 5 months. That was a great experience, but I wanted the ability to cook and have a bit more privacy. Everyone at Casa San Bartolome was warm and welcoming. They even brought me tea and jello when I was sick with a stomach bug. The beds are comfortable, the...

I stayed at the casa for two weeks and really enjoyed it. I had full access to the kitchen, so I cooked with the ladies that cooked for the guests. They went overboard to help me and worked with me on my spanish. The place is beautiful, clean, and central to everything in Xela. The owners were so nice and...

I really enjoyed this hotel...first of all I arrived early and they checked me in at 10 am which was a nice treat. The hotel itself is lovely, nicely decorated, with a nice terrace upstairs where you eat breakfast, lots of plants etc. The room was nice, the WIFI worked great, the water was really hot, the staff super friendly...

I stayed here for a week in February after an exhausting home stay during my Spanish studies. I loved my cosy clean room, the very friendly owners and staff, the good food and the fabulous showers as described by other reviewers. I appreciated the quiet neighborhood an easy walk from the center of town. I would definitely stay here again...

Very comfortable and clean. Away from the noise of the center. Good breakfast, excellent dinners (but relatively small portions). Attentive staff, hospitable owners. **Warning about maps on TripAdvisor: do not trust them** Cross-check with another site to confirm actual locations.

We pulled in to Xela without any reservations thinking that we would stay in the cabanas at Las Fuentes Geoginas. We lucked out, the cabanas were full and we found Casa Bartolommeo. The staff was welcoming, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. My daughter became ill and the owner was amazing. She was so kind and went...

Casa San Bartolome is a very lovely small hotel just a short walk from Parque Central in Xela. It is quiet and very clean, hot showers, a great staff, and quick and easy breakfasts for only 25Q in the garden dining area. I stayed 14 days and was happy to have a relaxing place to retire to each night, away...

We looked at multiple places in Xela, and decided to stay here and loved it. The service was excellent, always with a smile. Very clean, SUPER hot shower (really important in COLD Xela), they gave us a space heater upon request. We had dinner there and while simple, it was very good. I really appreciated the service, and it is...

I can't say enough nice things about this bed and breakfast. It's in a small neighborhood that is (depending on how quickly you walk) a pleasant 6-10 minute walk from the center of town. It's in a colonial-style house with 3 rooms on the main floor and 3 rooms on the second floor. I believe all rooms have a private...

My daughter and I spent 8 nights here and had a wonderful stay. Anabella and her staff made us feel like we were right at home. I took the wrong suitcase at the airport in Guatemala City, only realizing it upon our arrival in Xela. As soon as we got to Casa San Bartolome and I told Anabella what had...

“The rooms on the second level are likely warmer during the cooler temps in Xela. Downstairs rooms are darker and cooler it seems.”

“If you prefer a quieter room, I suggest staying on the main floor. The dining area/terrace is on the second floor, so if you stay up there you'll hear people who are there to eat, etc.”
