I live in West End Roatan and recently had some friends come and visit me. We spent 2 nights in Camp Bay Lodge to explore the East end of the island. The rooms were clean and cool, service was great and the staff were super friendly. You can tell that every detail about the lodge is considered with care and love. I absolutely loved my stay there and will be coming back frequently every time i have friends visiting, or maybe just by myself!

I loved Camp Bay Lodge. It was so interesting and relaxing and incredibly, unbelievably beautiful. Chris and Marylou are super sweet and super cool. The food is really good, the water is right in front of you and the rooms are simple and classy. This isn't a 5 star resort and doesn't want to be. Just very comfortable and wonderful. Met many excellent people there as well. Thanks Chris and Marylou!

Wow, Camp Bay Lodge, is extraordinary in every way... for those who like remote, natural, slightly rustic places. Remote location way out on the East End of Roatan (untouched by tourism and next to a major national park). Adorable and comfortable cottages right on the beach. Yummy, homemade meals. Fantastic team who make you feel totally at home. And if you like swimming, snorkeling, diving, kayaking or kiting; you could not be in a better place. Plan to stay longer than you originally intend, as you won't want to leave!!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are great! Of course, ocean-facing ones are just a bit better.

I've traveled to several different retreat centers in Central America, and Camp Bay is one of my favorites! From the food, to the people, to the beach and ocean, it was an unbelievable stay. I brought a group of 12 yoga practitioners. We were well cared for and truly enjoyed the "mindful stay" aspect of the lodge. It's a gem!

This is my third time back to the lodge and I plan to return every time I am in Roatan. The rooms are amazing, very comfortable beds/pillows, good fans, very nice showers, and great views! The staff are all absolutely wonderful and the food and drinks are high quality. The owner came over to our table every day to chat with us and see how we were doing. i thought that was really nice! Do not skip this lodge on your Roatan vacation!!

Quick and easy communication with the establishment. Great business values, would recommend for sure. It is a bit offset from the airport and provides a very calm area. The room can be rented with AC. We are kite surfers so this place is perfect. thanks!

The Camp Bay Lodge on the east end of Roatan was the perfect getaway for our group who was looking for a mix of R&R, a beautiful beach to walk, swimming off the dock, snorkeling and diving a relatively untouched reef. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, well maintained, and had ample space for all our gear. The owner and staff were very accommodating and checked in on us periodically to ensure we had everything we needed. Each morning we woke up to hot coffee and breakfast, and had lunch and dinner mostly at the resort. The food and drinks were exceptional and like all other aspects of the resort, exceeded our expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this resort to anyone looking to unplug.

I had the pleasure of staying 9 nights in the Areca Tree room over the holidays and it was one of the most peaceful and relaxing vacations ever! We arrived on Christmas Day and chose not to rent a car since we mostly wanted to relax on the beach, swim and enjoy nature, and take a snorkeling trip. We arranged an airport pick up through the lodge. I recommend you stop at an Eldon’s grocery along the way to pick up any food or drinks you may want to keep on hand in your room fridge. We ate all of our meals at Camp Bay’s own restaurant and loved dining at the simple picnic tables on the beach, our toes in the sand, under the shade canopy of a sea grape tree by day and the spectacular sky full of stars each night. Hearing the soothing and constant sound of the waves day and night, combined with the refreshing trade-winds breezes, and gorgeous ocean view was purely heavenly. Our room was comfortable and adequate, but not luxurious, and there was always hot water in the shower which sometimes isn’t always the case in the Caribbean. The best feature of the Areca Tree room is having the louvered doors and windows that frame three sides providing cooling NE breezes. Use of Kayaks and paddle-boards is complementary. We kayaked out to the reef offshore a couple of days and used an anchor so we could go snorkel. This was fun just make sure you are able to get back in the kayak before trying this offshore! We also walked down the beach, west of the hotel, down to the public section and it was incredibly gorgeous, white sand and crystal clear water. We went there several days to swim and rarely saw another person. Another day, Marba arranged for a boat trip with Olwin and we spit the $280 coat with two other guests from Sweden. We were out on the boat for six hours including snaking through wild, mangrove channels, three stops for snorkeling, and a lunch stop in Santa Elena at a local shack over the water. The snorkeling was excellent and this excursion is very reasonably priced! The staff at Camp Bay - Marba, Selena, Nessa, Trisha, Rachel and Pedro made us feel very welcome and try very hard to go above and beyond for each guest. PLEASE make sure you bring lots of US cash - $5’s, $10’s and $20’s to tip the staff generously. The make less in a day on Roatan than most Americans earn in an hour. You cannot add tips to your hotel bill so be sure to bring along cash. I recommend Camp Bay to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation where you can get away from the hustle of city light and really slow down!
