Thie hotel is good if you want to be alone--and sit near a pool by yourself and read. Nothing wrong with that. But out of 40+rooms only 17 are open now and it is up for sale.(Has been for 6 years) Needs upkeep badly. Staff down to three. You can see that it once was lovely--but time and economy has...

I have stayed in this hotel on two separate trips. They are extremely accommodating. You have to remember you are in a 3rd world country. It isn't a 5 star US hotel. But for Honduras I love it. I arrived with a group several hours early and they checked us all into our rooms, arranged to have a breakfast of...

The hotel was a lot more than I expected after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. The grounds were large, with 2 pools. The rooms were clean and spacious. They had good a/c, large mirrors, comfortable beds, hot showers and storage. One of the nicest budget hotel rooms I have stayed in in Honduras. The hotel felt quite deserted, as did...

Please don't think that this place is value for money. The place looks as if it is deserted. I speak spanish but still had a hard time trying to convey what I wanted to the front desk guy. it says it all when the person showing you the room goes in with a can of air freshener to 'try' and...

The main thing is that it is dirt cheap. And it was clean. It was eerily quiet, which suited us fine, because we swung on the hammocks playing monopoly, going for a dip in the sea. Perfect if you want to be left alone. And it had aircon. There's very few staff though, so don't expect luxury service. The staff...

I am a North American teacher living and working in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Hotel Canadian is a personal favorite get-a-way. It is clean, affordable, directly on the beach, has a delicious breakfast, a great view in the front (the gorgeous green mountains) and in the back (the ocean.) One of the best parts about this hotel is that it is a...

My husband and two teens booked two nights at the Canadien Hotel on November 6 and 7. Because of our less than desirable experience, we left after the first night. My husband contacted the hotel directly to make sure they would accept a major credit card and was told, "Yes--not a problem." Well, apparently they changed their policy on that...

1) Owners need to update technology such as paying by credit card versus having to pay (which means carrying cash). Stated the technology would have to cause an increase in room rates. Rates weren't bad to begin with. 2) Owners need to get that sense of haughtiness out of their system. They aren't very pleasant to be around. I took...
