We had planned only one night at this B&B near Athens, staid spontaneously a second night, and left with regrets not to be able to stay longer. It is a wonderful house, decorated with style and taste. Colonel Marc is the perfect host, full of attention, cultivated and we had highly interesting discussions about history and politics with him. His... More

Excellent B&B close to Athens. Colonel Marc does an exceptional job welcoming you and the accommodations are wonderful. Breakfast is splendid and we look forward to the next chance we have to visit again.

Colonel Marc welcomes guests with a wonderful vitality and enthusiasm for being an innkeeper. This property is stunning in its antebellum glory, set on acreage that is a horse farm which his wife, the other Colonel, is responsible for. People traveling with their own horses have a place for them here, too, at this unique spot. We didn't have horses,... More

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast with European charm. The inn is an old plantation home dating to the 1860's. Through the years additions have been made but kept to the old South charm. The rooms are filled with interesting antique furniture. Colonel Marc is a delightful gentlemen. He is a warm host and welcomes his guest with interesting stories. The grandfather... More

Colonel Mark was the ultimate host from the time we called for info till the day of our departure. Rooms/facility has all the comforts of home and whatever you need, Col. Mark made sure you were comfortable. He encourages his guest to "browse" the property, and directed us to a pond on back of property where one could sit and... More

We generally only stay at 5 star B&Bs. The Colonels did not disappoint. Colonel Mark took care of us and we learned that his wife is a colonel as well!!! They were very friendly and it turns out that she grew up very near where we did. The accommodations were impeccable and breakfast simple but very good. We would definitely... More

This historic property, surrounded by horse pastures, is gracious and welcoming. As is its owner-manager, a hands-on, consummate host. The property is lovingly lived-in, and bedrooms and baths are immaculate. As a bonus, guests can walk the paths, past paddocks, friendly thoroughbred horses, and a pond.

At 9 p.m. on a Tuesday I booked a room at The Colonels for the following night. By noon the next day, however, unable to rent a car to make the trip, I called Colonel Marc to cancel. He said he would have to charge me regardless of the circumstances, and fair enough, I guess. Policy is policy. But it... More

Dear Mr. C.J. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. Our cancellation policy is very standard for Bed&Breakfast lodging and is clearly publicized on our website. At every reservation, we charge the first night of every stay in order to guarantee room availability for our guests at check-in time. Our cancellation policy is 7 days (for non-events) and... More

I had to go into Athens for a conference at UGA and all the decent hotels were booked. Trip Advisor also recommended some B & B locations. At first, I wasn't sure. I have stayed at some before and it was an "o.k." experience but had the possibility of being bad. I read the reviews and decided to give them... More

Our daughter was a freshman last year (2014) and we had no clue how difficult it would be to find lodging during a home game in Athens. The Colonel had one available room remaining after I had called every hotel in town, and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out! We're avid cyclists, so we enjoyed riding... More
