At the end of University Blvd in Ames, as the road turns to gravel, there is a small low sign marking the driveway to The Monte Bello B&B. The driveway curves through the tall grasses and when you emerge there is a lovely tall golden home overlooking a small pond. We loved our stay with Daphne and Jaime at the...

Great hosts and a wonderful atmosphere at the MonteBello Bed and Breakfast. What a great couple who run the B&B, Daphne and Jaime. What do you need? They have the solution! Jaime will make anything your heart desires for breakfast, from fantastic scones to eggs any style with terrific salsa. You name it.

I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to get away to write and think. The hotel is lovely and stately--like a hacienda in Mexico. Ames has some of the best cheap gourmet restaurants I have ever seen. It is calm and peaceful. The inkeepers make a beautiful breakfast and will make you a lovely soup-based lunch upon...

Stayed at the MonteBello, and attended two concerts in Ames. The facilities at the Monte Bello were first class as were the Innkeepers and the cuisine. A nice destination B&B; comfortable, friendly and very clean.

Visiting Ames overnight as I drove north to MN. Pleased with the accommodations, spacious room and clean bathroom. The owners were caring and hospitable and I was very pleased with my stay. I highly recommend staying at this Inn.

My sister and I stayed here on October 9th for one night while visiting my son at Iowa State. It is very close to campus. We were welcomed like family and shown the living area downstairs and then our rooms. The atmosphere is bright and cheery yet calm and relaxing since it sits by a pond away from any traffic....

I have reviewed this B&B before and nothing has changed. We stayed here again October 12 and 13 2012. While visiting for our daughters family weekend at Iowa State. Extremely clean and quite, and the innkeepers, Jaime and Daphne really know how to take care of their guests and make you feel comfortable and at home. We will be back...

Our organization had a group of international guests in from Belarus, and we needed a place to have a dinner. We chose the Montebello B&B Inn, and it couldn't have turned out better! I'm an Ames native, and was amazed to have never heard of it before. I used to live in Spain, and was completely in awe and delight...

We continue to stay at Monte Bello when in Ames, both for business and for family reasons. It is literally like staying at home away from home. Daphne and Jaime are very hospitable and you truly feel welcomed. The rooms are amazing with very high ceilings, vibrant colors and all kinds of artifacts from Mexico. If you want peace and...

I really enjoyed my stay here at Montebello. It was a last minute decision to take a road trip and we literally googled this bed & breakfast place while still in the car! Luckily it must have been a low season and there was only one other room occupied besides ours. The rooms were superbly clean and well decorated to...
