This is a boarder line 2 star rating. Overall the rooms are in a state of decline, disrepair, deterioration and generally worn. They are clean which counts for a lot (that and the fact the staff did try to help gets them 3 stars). The AC and safe were broken in my first room. There is a night club in another hotel which was noisy and when I checked with the staff they said it usually doesn't go past 1am..... They moved me to a different room for my second night and the safe was broken there as well though the AC worked and it faced the pool so should be quieter as not facing the nightclub. Heard another person that lacked towels in their room. I suspect the staff knows the rooms are broken in various ways and shuffle people around as needed. The grounds and pool seem nice. Breakfast was good with varied options. Very close (directly adjacent) to the shopping mall so you can walk there and shop, or eat at the typical mall restaurants, pick up water, food, etc at the large Carrefour

Check-in: Check-in was very efficient. We arrived at the hotel late and tired but were checked in quickly. The receptionist gave us all necessary information without having to ask – wifi code, location of restaurant etc.
Room: Room is ordinary. It was quite warm in the room and we were having trouble adjusting the temperature. We were told the next day that there was no air conditioning just heat! I hope that is only true in February, not sure how anyone would manage without air in the summer. The lack of air made the room very stuffy so difficult to get a good night sleep. We did not find the beds comfortable.
Restaurant: Dinner and breakfast were included in our rate and served buffet style. There was almost no one in the restaurant any of the times we were there. On the first night, we got there towards the end of dinner service. Much of the food in the buffet was cold. When my husband complained they brought some hot food to the table. The next night, dinner was a little better but still not great. Service was somewhat improved as well. The buffet is served in a large hall with no ambiance at all. Given such a small number of guests, I am not sure why they don't serve dinner a la carte in the restaurant. Would likely be more cost efficient, a better experience for the guests and dramatically less food waste.
Overall Service: Front desk and bell men service was excellent. Restaurant service was uneven.
The lobby is beautiful but neither the rooms nor the food qualifies as 5 star.

Very good location, very nice decoration, very spacious and air-conditioned place. The service, however, does not deserve 5 stars. For the swimming pool on the 1st day we were not allowed towels because there were more, on the 2nd day after calling reception twice and waiting 1 hour we were finally brought back towels for showering. At 4 p.m. the room had not been made. Not worthy of 5 star services.

This place is an absolute dump. I have no idea how they call themselves 5 stay unless it is in local currency and it converts to US $ at 10 to 1 so it is really 0.5 star. We checked in late and there was no one at the door or desk. After a few minutes a man emerged and checked us in. He pointed up a set of stairs and said that was where the elevator was to get to the rooms and did not offer to help with our bags as you would have expected at a 5 star hotel. In the room, the furniture was very dated, the curtains were falling down and the desk legs were not even but we were exhausted so we went to sleep. In the morning we were woken by the stench of sewage so needed to change rooms. We moved down the hall (they just delivered a key and did not offer to help) and settled into room 2. The furniture was still dated but it smelled clean and the curtains were functional so we stayed. If we were not there as part of a group, we would have left as there are many other, much nicer hotels in the area. The bathroom was difficult to navigate. There were 3 knobs that you needed to play with to get the shower to work and it was always a different combination. None of them were marked as the inserts the indicate temperature or which nozzle that water should come out of fell off years ago. The tub was also quite treacherous as you needed to climb in the 18" high tub over the 6" wide lip. After your shower you feel lucky you made it out alive. Additionally, the towels had holes. In the room you are given 2 small bottles of water that will not be replaced daily which you would expect at a 5 star hotel. Safety- the push bars to the emergency exits are broken, at least they were on our floor. The pool area had lounge beds which looked comfortable. The curtains, however, that were to provide shade/privacy were gray with dirt and torn. Taxis- if you want one, you need to hike up the hill to get one as they will not call one for you. Gym- the 4 or pieces of equipment were in poor shape and did not feel safe to use. The spa- this was the only good part of the hotel but you never knew when they would open so you need to keep checking back. Location- was good, being next to the supermarket was a bonus. You are close to the Medina but the road is under construction and is difficult to cross as there are no traffic signals. Do not even consider staying here. It was honestly the worst place we have stayed in all of our travels.

Not a 5 star by any stretch of imagination. Had booked a Junior suite advertised with balcony. On arrival, we were given a room with no balcony, and were told it was booking for com’s fault to advertise incorrect. Clean but Dated rooms, bathroom sink and bathtub clogged constantly. Towels missing on day 2 so we had to specifically ask for them, no tea or coffee in the room. Toilets around bar area do not function, we reported them yet no change next day. Reception has no knowledge of spa, and the spa receptionist wasn’t bothered enough to explain the services and get any business. The only few good things was the bar (Medi at the bar was brilliant), views, and pool staff. At best this is a 3 * hotel & for that rating in Fes, it’s quite expensive. Book with caution if you’re expecting 5 * services, you’ll be very disappointed.

My husband and I decided to stay at a hotel outside the Fes medina, because we had already stayed at a riad in the Marrakesh medina earlier in our trip, and also our guide warned us that it wasn't safe to wander around the medina in Fes after sundown (he also warned us about walking anywhere by ourselves at night). After looking at the various hotel options, we decided to book our last two nights in Morocco at Palais Medina & Spa. It turned out to be the perfect place to wind down at the end of our trip. We booked directly with the hotel, and requested a room overlooking the pool. They gave us a wonderful room (Room 240), which had a king-size bed, sofa and desk area, and balcony with chairs and table overlooking the pool area. Our rate included breakfast, and it was a huge buffet, with lots of different options like scrambled eggs, potatoes, as well as pastries, cereal, yogurt, etc. Although we had a driver and didn't need parking, there appeared to be plenty of secure parking at the hotel (you have to pass a security guard to enter the hotel grounds). We also loved the fact that the hotel is located next to the "Borj Fez Centro," a modern shopping mall with a food court, including U.S. restaurants like Pizza Hut, Burger King, etc. (McDonald's is also just outside the mall). We ended up bringing back takeout meals from the food court to enjoy on our balcony. There is also huge Carrefour supermarket on the ground floor of the shopping mall, and a liquor store next to it.

I spent two nights here and I regretted it heavily:
Arrival: no single welcome word said and nobody helped us with the luggage, we pulled it our by ourselves from the taxi.
Gym: No equipments at all, on two treadmills and bicycle machine thingy.
Room: It didn't have towels when we checked-in, and we had to request for it.
Amenities: Only two small bottles of water placed, if you want extra is chargeable (35 MAD), My wife got thirsty at night, and we had to go in the middle of the night (1AM) and get it by ourselves outside the hotel.
Taxi: in two occasions, I requested reception to help me to get a taxi, with 30 minutes waiting time no taxi, I had to go by myself outside and get taxi which are easily to get.
Safe box: We found an item (small umbrella) in the safebox of our room which belongs to a previous guest.
Departure: it was one of the weirdest experiences.. No farewell, no feedback, no help with the luggage and I had to go outside of the hotel and get the taxi by myself and comeback to pick up my luggage and my wife.
The only exception is the breakfast, I mean the team there are welcoming but the food is average.

Huge hotel that at first glance looks sumptuous and high quality. But only at first sight. In fact, it is a hotel for large groups of tourists, poorly preserved and tumultuous.. rooms with carpet and equipment worn and unconserved. Mattress deep. They deserve an urgent update. The air conditioning could not be turned on to not bother the neighbors. A huge restaurant, but the brigade is small to replace the dishes... it gets all mixed and empty Only 2 coffee machines, generate queues and a lot of waste. If it is the best option in Fez, stay in another city.

The hotel and rooms are good, but services are bad . Only one bottle of water was provided on day one , further we had to buy. No milk for coffee in the room . You cannot carry your water bottle to dinning room . You have to buy it from them . Said that it is hotel rules( unwritten) Not much choice with vegetarian menu . All in all experience - not good hospitality . Good rooms don’t make good holidays

The hotel has a rather pricey laundry service; however there is a popular "people's mall" right next door and I would bet that there's a laundromat there. Just beware of the pick-pocket, "begging" children around the outside of the mall. The mall also contains one of Morocco's rare wine and liquor store and several pizza places if you don't want to eat in the hotel.
There are more places to choose from in the Fez area.
