A memorable experience. On arrival, we felt welcome. Ali did a great job on welcoming us as the door and all the way during our stay. He was there for every request. Thank you. Everything at Riad Sara is beautiful and comfortable. A little bit noisy when some people discuss in the main hall at night. If you go there...

We stayed in the Riad Sara for 7 nights and it was excellent. The decor was incredible and I must say a big bravo for the restoration work to enhance the 400 year old traditional Riad. It was absolutely great to be able to stay in such a historical representation of Morocco! The aspect that really made our trip perfect...

I have never experienced such a warm stay with any other host! They were more than happy to meet any needs and even spend some time with us when they could! They also spoke several languages, more than one could count on one hand! The lovely hosts were definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Fes and we...

I have stayed in Riad Sara several times over the past 2 years. Its the “must come back” place that I know will be inviting and comfortable as well as traditionally beautiful the Moroccan style. The new owner/manager is extremely accomodating and considerate of his guests and will even give a free cooking class if you are interested. I recommend...

Down a narrow lane and behind a typical Morrocan door you will find the beautiful Sara Riad. We were made to feel very welcome by the multi lingual host Said. The bathroms are modern but it takes a while for the hot water to come through, but once its there its a great shower. Breakfast is simple but fresh orange...

we came from the bus station but all the taxis do not use meters and told us to pay in advance. he tried to let us get off in the area, not the actual hotel. A man came and offered to guide us to the hotel, asked tip (he said no coins but notes!). This is kind of the culture...

First of all, the Riad Sara (which I believe is about 400 years old? if not even older) is beautiful. Very traditional, open roof, big airy space, lots of gorgeous tile work and ceramics. The entry space is perfect for flopping down after a long day. The staff are attentive and accommodating. You couldn't ask for a better deal at...

I'm very pleased I chose to stay here, it's a real jewel in the Fez crown. As a budget traveller I didn't pay much money for my bed, as is normally the case for me. But it was so refreshing to pay so little to share a dorm and yet be in such luxurious surroundings! This place is pretty breathtaking...

Good location just a few blocks from Bab Boujloud and easy driving access. Entrance on a dark but quiet and safe walkway. Inside, the riad is truly splendid, with decor worthy of a royal palace. The staff is likewise extremely gracious, offering all kinds of help. There is a dinner menu available. Do they really serve camel tagine? Yes, we...

Thank you for your kind comments about the Riad. We are incredibly lucky with our location. As you stated, the entrance is a little dark, but this is a characteristic of the old medina in general - we have lights in the street outside that are lit at night, and a street guardian is located in the street outside 24/7,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
NOW UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT - FROM SEPTEMBER 2015!! Riad Sara is a beautifully restored 14th Century read that has been running as a guest house since 2002. Now operating under a British-Moroccan management team, the Riad Sara staff are trained to address the needs of each guest on an individual basis. From providing a calm base for a city-break, to organising a pan-Morocco adventure - we cater to the needs of our clients. Located in an easily-accessible street, just a 2 minute walk from the taxi stand in the public square at Batha, Riad Sara is perfectly located to be both quiet, but at the same time convenient. The main entrance to the medina, Bab Boujloud, is only a 5 minute walk from the riad, taxis to the new town are a 2 minute walk, and there are multitudes of restaurants and bazaars within a short walking distance. Our tour desk can organise day trips to nearby sites, as well as longer treks to farther afield places. Hammam trips are arranged daily, and massage and henna painting can be arranged at your request. ... more   less
