The Dar was unbelievably beautiful. They have large, high ceilinged rooms. It was very clean and they have a beautiful terrace with a great view! The location was great. Latefa was extremely helpful and arranged taxi to the airport and a great guided tour of the Medina for us. Breakfast in the morning was made by a very kind, welcoming... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 day stay at Dar el-Menia. My sister and I had this beautiful 300 year old house to ourselves. The manager, Issam, met us at the taxi stand and brought us to the house, tucked away just off the Old City’s main drag, the Talaa Kebira, and close to shopping and most of the historic sites.... We were 8 people travelling, so we rented the whole riad. It's a nice place to stay, close to many interesting places in the city (restaurants, souks and museums). Staff was helpful. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean and the riad is well maintained.

With just four guest rooms the house really felt like our home during our stay. It is in the heart of the old town and approached through an astonishingly narrow alleyway - you would never find it unless you were guided in. The stucco, tiles, woodwork and lanterns are wonderful - do not expect modern standards of insulation etc -... More

I have been to the hotel in spring 2012. It is a nice traditional guest house. You shouldn't expect a luxury house however the mixture between the moroccan& spanish style of the rooms and the hall is very nice. Rooms are quite big and clean. The area around is noisy but inside the hotel is quite. WI-FI is available but... More

There are many things to recommend Dar El Menia including its authenticity, location and very friendly and helpful staff. But if you are looking for a place with creature comforts, this may not be the riad for you - there is no air conditioning, iffy plumbing and as the rooms all open up onto each other, not a lot of... The Dar El Menia is a beautifully renovated riad in the Fès medina, right off the Thalaa Kbila. There are wonderful decorations of carved wood, alabast and colourful mosaics, that you can study for hours and still not have memorized all the details, and the lounge/courtroom is light and airy. The staff is very kind and helpful and the riad... More

The good: This dar is well situated and even though it's up a narrow street from one of the the main ones in the medina you quickly orientate yourself and shouldn't easily get lost. It's very quiet once you're inside because of its location so that's a definite plus. Close to the main car park if you need to be... More

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at Dar El Menia. Beautiful, genuinely authentic riad. Excellent location just off the main street. We had the ground floor room which was the cheapest. There were only 2 other people staying there so noise wasn't a problem but if the riad was full it may well have been. Breakfast on the terrace... More

My daughter and I stayed here in June of 2014, and it exceeded our expectations. Graham has done a beautiful job of seeing to the restoration and decor of the house. The roof is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the views. Breakfasts on the roof are delicious, and the staff are very pleasant. The location is superb.
