Jaal Riad Resort is often celebrated for its clean and comfortable rooms, though a handful of guests have noted that some amenities and decor feel outdated. While the service can swing from highly commendable to frustrating, the hotel's overall cleanliness and quality amenities, including the pool and spa, are regularly acknowledged.
The tranquil, Moroccan-style atmosphere is well-liked, but it can be compromised by inconsistent details. The resort's location is generally appreciated for its convenience, but some visitors have raised concerns about the value, citing unclear pricing and additional costs.

Just back from a wonderful stay at the Jaal Riad Resort. The hotel is in a great location, only 10-15 minutes in a taxi to the Medina & Jemaa el-Fnaa Square (make sure you agree the price up front, 70-80 dirhams there and 40-50 dirhams return). The Al Mazar Shopping Mall is just a 5 minute walk around the corner from the hotel with boutiques, food outlets and a massive Carrefour in the basement (including the sale of alcohol). Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We requested a top floor room on arrival and it was sorted immediately. The bar and outside area were very relaxing, with a range of singers providing a lovely background ambience in the early evening. The pool was lovely, if a little cool (refreshing) in the morning. The chill out music round the pool during the day was very pleasant. There were no issues with access to available sunbeds, with fresh clean towels available every day. Special mention to Rania, who is front of house for the main restaurant, always happy and smiling. She gave us some great advice whenever we needed it including the recommendation to book ‘The Cat’ restaurant which proved to be a highlight. In the main restaurant Simo was always looking out for us, ensuring that our glasses were topped up and sorting out fresh tea and coffee in the mornings (taking into account our weird British preferences). The buffet itself was superb with plentiful high quality dishes to choose from. All of the staff were always smiling, polite and highly professional. Being able to speak a little French did help on occasion in the hotel and the Souks, but not essential. Overall we had a brilliant one week break, and would definitely recommend the hotel !

Just back from a weeks stay here. We had a great stay. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. For the price we paid for a week all inclusive it was great value for money. The hotel is in a great location, round the corner from a small mall for a bit of shopping, close to a few of the bigger restaurants that put on shows, 45min walk into the Medina (10mins in a taxi). Easy access to taxis right outside the hotel, hotel staff always on hand to help with this. Music round the pool gave a nice holiday vibe, variety of music and volume controlled perfectly. We never encountered issues getting beds and we only ever went down to the pool around 10-1030am, if I saw towels abandoned on beds I just moved them and sat down and I never had any issues. I didn’t even notice many smokers, maybe we were just lucky during our week there but it wasn’t till I noticed ashtrays in the bar that it even dawned on me they allowed smoking. First couple of days, I have to be honest, service was a bit poor, but by our third day the hotel had noticeably taken feedback on board and were clearly making a huge effort to improve. Salim and Idris in the bar really made us welcome, great sense of humours and cocktails. The buffet was great, with a good variety, still a little room for improvement with food labelling. Special mention to Moncef, who went out of his way looking after us in the restaurant and we could see how well he supported and guided the other members of staff to help Improve their service. Khalid and Bolou were also two standouts for us, always with a smile and so polite and professional. We had all our lunches at the restaurant by the pool, food was great and they serve the best chips! I do feel the only change here to improve it would be to get rid of the specific timings for all inclusive diners, I think it is unnecessary.
All in all we had a great stay and we would definitely return. I felt it important to give credit where it’s due, although there were some valid points made in other reviews I feel some were unnecessarily harsh. It’s great how the hotel was evidently taking these points on board and were trying to make improvements quickly.

Just returned from the Jaal riad resort , when we arrived the reception is stunning so it’s sets you up for a good experience , their was three different groups who arrived , one group was given refreshments and a snack then the waiter disappeared and that was it . We were supposed to have a garden room but was told we had been upgraded . Arrived in the room bedroom area was ok , furniture was looking tired , bed no problem nice clean looking bedding ,and comfortable. Worst tea tray I have every seen , only earl grey tea bags, no milk sugar coffee , mugs were not clean looking and one had a big chip on the side , only water in the fridge , no soft drinks . Toilet and bathroom were separate, toilet was really in need of renovation , stain on the toilet seat , toilet brush looked like it had seen better days . The bathroom was better , good toiletries supplied , but the bathroom mirror needed a proper clean not only half way up . First night in the dining room they couldn’t do enough for you keeping you topped up with water and wine . Food only the first night so was finding our way around it was fine . After the first night restaurant was hit and miss . You have to go and get your tea ( still only earl grey ) , breakfast was never really hot, I was lucky I like eggs so had a omelette , waffles were over cooked and chewy , the juice containers were either empty or clogged up , not enough cutlery , I ask a waiter for a spoon he said ok , never came back , so I had to hunt for one, food was not labelled, bread and pastries were lovely that’s the upside . Went in for one lunch in the whole week , service was non existent. Loved the pool restaurant only serves food between 3 and 5 we ate there most days . We found a supermarket for more supplies . Bar room was very tastefully done drinks were limited as what you could have on all inclusive , and come eleven o’clock if you didn’t pay for your drinks it was bedtime . Entertainment was poor, would had been nice to see some traditional acts . We went to the Italian restaurant one night , you had to pay a supplement on some of the food which was worth it as it was lovely and only cost £24 . It was the attention to detail that spoilt our stay here , we have stayed at a lot of hotels and though parts of the hotel are very nicely done , when you look beyond it’s where it is let down ,

The Pension is beautiful but the services are far below what could have been imagined.
Towels and bathrobes not present on our arrival, cosmetic products in the bathroom empty and filled after 3 boosts on the penultimate day of our trip... Sink and shower clogged all week, work with holes right next door.
The staff were not friendly (except for a luggage handler and a waiter at the bar in the evening exceptional that we thank).
Awakened by the planes from 7:00 which passes 300-400m above the Pension all day (for those who want to sunbathe on the deckchairs quiet it is ruined) Speaking of deckchairs, get up before the first plane to book them because at 7:30 am there is no more available when no one is physically present. Once a deckchair is found, the second mission is to get a towel, I asked for a towel 4 times and got it 1h50 later.
Little hunger? Don’t be in a hurry, the buffet opens between 15 and 30 minutes late every day. Don't expect great cuisine, it's tasteless, morning, noon and evening (be it buffet, Italian or Moroccan).
ALL INCLUSIVE? Snack available from 3pm to 6pm (no sandwich to take away, allow 40 minutes minimum) Cocktails with alcohol are undrinkable, the wines offered also, everything is done to pay extras. (In the bar 14 € a cocktail, you will have nice stuff -> from 18:00).
We had in our offer:
1 Italian meal 1 Moroccan meal
Both to book but announced full from the moment we arrive at the Pension until our Check-out... We fought for seats and to our amazement the restaurants advertised as full were empty... Again, no flavors ...
1 session hammam / whirlpool -> top (finally a positive)
30% discount on massages / treatments but it's full (completely empty, like restaurants)
Too bad this beautiful hotel offers such poor amenities. Apart from the planes for which they can do nothing in view of the location, all the points cited can be improved. Sorry to be mistaken for fools, we'll clearly never set foot there again.

I have read some of the reviews and am aghast and what people choose to moan about! My husband and I had the most amazing time at this hotel. We were very late arriving due to a two hour flight delay and two hours in passport control but were shown to our room quickly and efficiently. Our room overlooked the pool on the ground floor and was fabulous, clean with a lovely terrace to sit in the evenings.
We were all inclusive and found the food varied and plentiful, lots of fresh salads and different meat dishes. (Obviously the later you went for breakfast/lunch/dinner the less there was left and the colder it was). The dining room service is a little hit and miss and does need to be reviewed, perhaps certain waiters for certain tables, but all were all very pleasant and certainly earnt their wages. I do think some other method to keep the coffee hot in the morning would be helpful though.
Sensibly you are given plastic cups if you drink around the pool but if you are staying at the bar area you only need ask for a real glass, no drama. No one is treated differently the same rules apply to all and we in no way felt we were treated differently from French speaking guests, all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Special mention to Salim in the main bar who was friendly, helpful and hilarious. My only criticism here would be perhaps the lady singing in the evenings could choose a couple of more upbeat tunes!!
The weather was fabulous as was Marrakesh crazy square.. we loved Morocco and will definitely be back. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

Very nice hotel very clean! The staff is very helpful. The food is excellent, tagines of all kinds and couscous, the raw materials are also excellent, it lacks a little more Western food to vary the menus! We only stayed 5 days and the menus suited us but to see if we would have stayed one or 2 weeks!! In December the pool is very cold and it would be nice if it were heated at least a little... the heated indoor pool costs 30€ for an hour! We had a service offered with hammam and bubble bath and an hour of swimming pool but in the hammam there was very little steam and very little eddies in the bubble bath ... well it was free but still a little disappointed and the damsel at the reception was not very kind and we did not go back. It would also require a little more friendliness at the hotel reception especially among the ladies. The rest of the staff is very friendly. The deckchairs are comfortable and the loan of a towel is appreciable. The 2 restaurants, Moroccan and Italian are excellent. The drinks are on top! If you order a mojito you will have a mojito worthy of the name, the same for wines. A little annoyed that people smoke in the indoor bar open in the evening in the hotel. The city is very nice, Go by a good taxi to take you to visit the city and go on an excursion instead of paying excursions with 20 people who accompany you and in addition it is cheaper!! My son went quad biking in the Agafay desert and he was disappointed, he ate dust and the quads were in bad condition, on site the rest was perfect, sunset, meals and show were very good. If you only want to do the show meal, it is possible, you do not have to comel or Quad. Anything is possible in Marrakech with nice people like Moroccans. I advise you to visit the Ourika Valley and eat on the riverside, it was great and peaceful. I wrote this review so that the hotel could improve a few points but I am aware of how lucky we were to come to this hotel! I hope my message will help you.

We spent a week in this hotel in August 2023, with family/friends. And here is what we take away from it:
Good points : - The hotel is magnificent, both in terms of architecture and decoration, there is nothing to say - The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas is very appreciable - The staff is generally very kind and attentive - In the evening, the lounge bar is quite pleasant
On the other hand... - No welcome when we arrived, no one explains the catering times, locations, excursions etc. If you don't ask the questions, you won't know. Furthermore, arriving at the hotel at 11 a.m., in 45 degree weather, we had our rooms at 3 p.m. so we could finally freshen up and change. - No brochures in the rooms either - The calm promised by this "Adults only" hotel is altered by the DJ, sitting all day by the pool, speakers turned up to maximum: we can no longer hear each other talking! - The catering needs to be reviewed: On the site, we are promised a wide choice of restaurants and traditional dishes, but when we arrive we finally have a buffet at lunchtime and one in the evening, and they are the same... - Poor breakfast, we feel like they need to save money, all the drinks are diluted with water and have no taste. As for the food, we are served leftovers from the day before, or defrosted products (5 stars we said...). At lunchtime it's the same thing, although the buffet is a little more extensive, to eat quickly between two swims it generally does the trick. On the other hand, in the evening... a disaster. Don't take the risk of coming 1 hour after the buffet opens because there will be nothing left, and the staff will quickly tell you that they don't plan to fill it. We also didn't see any fruit during this stay, nor any typical Moroccan dishes, it's a shame to eat pasta and grated carrots in the middle of Marrakech. - The pool bar is open all day, but if you want a real coffee (unlike what is offered at breakfast), you have to wait until 11 a.m., for no apparent reason, and if you want to drink during the day sodas, don't expect carbonated and cold drinks. And to finish with the cocktails, most are just sparkling water garnished with a slice of lemon and a few mint leaves. Tasteless. (Yes yes, we said 5 stars).
Finally, the all inclusive should definitely be forgotten. Despite the beauty of this building, the quality of service is not up to par with a 5-star resort hotel.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel. The hotel itself is stunning and kept very clean and tidy. When we arrived, we were given a free room upgrade to a balcony with a pool view which was amazing. The rooms were a good size and very clean. All of the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We were not all inclusive just bed and breakfast and the breakfast served was good with a variety of things to choose from. If not all inclusive, it’s quite expensive for drinks from the pool bar. There is a shopping mall about a 5 minute walk from the hotel where there is a Carrefour to buy drinks and snacks from which is a lot cheaper. It is about a 10 minute drive into the main centre of the city and taxis there range from around 50-100 dirhams. It is definitely worth visiting the city as it is an incredible experience in itself but it is very busy so it’s nice to have the hotel to come back to and relax. We found it generally okay getting a sunbed, some people did save them and didn’t always come down to use them until late afternoon but we managed to get one still if we were out by 10am. Towels are also given out at 10am but do go quickly so worth getting them straight away to make sure you get one. This hotel was definitely worth a visit and we would 100% come back and stay here again.

Very friendly and efficient staff who were always anxious to please. The building is of an iconic Riad style, very well built and maintained. We booked two excursions through the hotel reception who arranged a solus guide experience , giving advice and answering all questions. We ate at all three restaurants along with the pool bar, all were excellent with plenty of varied choice. As we were on an all inclusive package we took full advantage of the Bar area both before and after dinner enjoying the music from the lady singer who entertained us singing in English, French and occasionally Italian. Previous references have commented on the quality of the bathrooms which could do with a little but have an excellent walk in shower with plenty of hot water and a separate loo and bidet. We enjoyed the internal room overlooking the pool but were told by guests with external rooms that they found them noisy. Daily Temperature was 22 or 23 degrees from 11 to 5pm in mid January. Although there was a local Mal behind the hotel there were no local bars restaurants or coffee shops in the immediate area to provide a local variety. Taxis however were on immediate hand for a 10 to 15 ride into the centre of the city. We heard some aeroplanes overhead but there weren't many and were quickly out of earshot. Previous clients complained that the pool was cold but come on this was January with cold nights. Other clients complained of thin loo paper but not a problem - just double or triple up as there were always a couple of spares which were topped up daily.

let's start with the positive The hotel is very well maintained, spacious rooms and quality shower products, very friendly room staff, the quality of the food is quite good but not the quantity...
the young waiters at the pool bar (they have no smile, don't want to work) the freezing pool at the beginning of September.
Above all, do NOT take ALL INCLUSIVE, you will not have Moroccan specialties and especially not what you order. you will be entitled to snacks at midday (club sandwich, hamburger panini, pasta and pizza, salads of your choice) which is not very serious if at least in the evening you can eat local but no in the evening if there are not enough customers only the Italian restaurant opens and they do not offer you all the dishes, in fact they let you choose to tell you when ordering that they do not have this dish or is served by giving my opinion at reception I was entitled to a voucher to eat 1x at the Moroccan restaurant because you are not entitled to it if you do not stay 7 days including all taxes. very very disappointed I was looking forward to eating locally (yes you can pay extra but I advise against it we left the hotel) the Moroccan restaurant of the hotel is empty see photo we ate there one evening we were the only 2 people and however several dishes were not available as by chance...only chicken (not beef) remained you will not receive any support and if you want it you will have to pay extra. It's a problem every time you ask for a dish or a cocktail they have more! They only offer 4 starters, 4 main courses and 4 desserts but they don't have what they need to serve you, despite the fact that the hotel was not not full because people were on excursions a 50th day of bathers for example at 2 p.m. in the afternoon they no longer have orange juice in the evening at 7 p.m. they no longer have lamb but pizzas yes of course! We also have the impression that it was to save money or to be lazy regarding the bar, the service is bad, small details of lack of hygiene for a hotel where people are used; the spices no services to help you dip your fingers in the cinnamon, spices.. no pt-spoons, the bread you barely hold it in your hand to cut it (no fabric to hold it for example), at home it bothers me no problem but there are a lot of people dipping their fingers in the same bowl... the same for the jams 6 pots of jam but 2 spoons so from the pot of honey you don't pass the same spoon on another jam! / forks to serve you olives or rice, it's very practical!
I reported that there was no more toilet paper, the man at reception handed me 2 rolls!! yes yes it is apparently up to customers to refill the common toilets! I refused, telling him that it's not my job, these are details but what demonstrates the lack of know-how. Small things to improve that did not spoil my stay Except Moroccan dishes, yes, it is unacceptable not to offer them to all the services for all inclusive and not to introduce travelers to their very good Moroccan cuisine!
