Positives- Location, room was clean and Youssef the owner of the riad sorted out the excursions on our behalf. Negatives- the accommodation is basic, breakfast is unacceptable, wifi not available in rooms, the accommodation in the pictures are deceiving as on several websites look nothing like the real thing. Lights are completely switched off at midnight and the owner Youssef...

This was the third time we stayed at Riad Essaoussan in 10 years. It's a calm, clean, well-kept, authentic Riad with a beautiful terrace on the roof and tastefully renovated Morrocan style rooms. The location couldn't be better, close to everything in the Mouassine quarter, 250 meters from Jemaa El-Fna square and near the old souks. Rooms are very reasonably...

My daughter and I stayed 5 nights over New Years 2015-2016 and would recommend it for travelers that don't need too much comfort. The decors is rudimentary but sufficient and I liked very much the upstairs terrace in the sun. The central location in the medina close to the place Jemaa el-Fnaa and all the souks is perfect. It was...

we stayed here in 2008 so this review is a long time coming...we were the only guests so i can't speak for the noise if there are other guests around but it's a lovely old traditional house. breakfasts are on the roof terrace, very much enjoyed them. there was minimal service while we were there but it was fine for...

We stayed there in Nov-13 for 2 nights. The riad is really difficult to find but eventually, we made it there. The hotel owner, Youssef and his wife are really hospitable people and they made their best to welcome us in their hotel. The property is a traditional arabic house and it was not too full at the time we...

Even though it is hard to find, it is worth the effort. Being quite far away from any busy street, it is a real retreat. Breakfast on the roof top is a fantastic start into the day. The owner also offers guiding to the wild outback of Morocco e.g. the Atlas mountains. We did not try it out though. The...

The owner Hamiza Youssef became physically violent towards me and physically threw me out of his riad when I tried to check in just before Christmas. I had booked by speaking with him over the phone, I arrived at 11 am, left my luggage with him, went out for lunch as he told me my room was not ready. When...

The room was small but all one needed. This budget riad was quaint and simple with lovely decor. Extremely clean. There was breakfast every morning included in the price on the roof terrace which was great moroccan food cooked by Fatima who was lovely. Youssef the manager/owner was lovely and extremely welcoming and accommodating. We organised a day tour with...

This riad is perfectly situated. Within a short walk are some of the best souks as well as the Place Jamaa el Fna with its multitude of attractions. The riad itself is clean and simply furnished in Moroccan style. The staff are friendly and helpful. The whole atmosphere is very relaxed but professional. The proprietor, Yousef, is a fully qualified...

Our opinion on this riad is rather mixed. It is well placed in the historical center of Marrakech, around 200-300 m from Jamaal el’Fna square, and the roof, where breakfast is served, has a stunning view on the city. On the other hand, the alleys to reach the place are kind of worrying (not that anything happened to us, to...
