As my husband and I near the end of another stay at Oberoi Marrakech we’d like to sincerely thank Rohan, Mamdouh and their most excellent team for reminding us why we love the hotel so much. This has been our third visit to Oberoi Marrakech and our fifth holiday in an Oberoi in the last 12 months, and we can truly say there is no hotel brand to rival Oberoi. As well as the Oberoi group having the most stunning and individual properties, the common theme that shines throughout all is their philosophy “the guest is everything”.
Oberoi Marrakech provides the best of both worlds in that it’s situated in the most tranquil and beautiful setting with views of the Atlas Mountains, at the same time as being just 15 minutes from central Marrakech and the Medina. For us, it’s also located just three hours flight from the UK making it the most accessible of the Oberoi properties and our number one choice for a short haul holiday.
The property itself is breathtaking in the grandeur and majesty of the main buildings and restaurants. Water features are a common theme at Oberoi properties and these calming spaces abound both inside and throughout the grounds and spa in Marrakech. The fabulous pool is set amongst olive groves and has sumptuous daybeds, seating areas and sun-loungers positioned on islands within the water. Alongside is the Azur bar and restaurant where the staff take great care of all refreshment and dining needs at the pool.
Oberoi rooms are always well designed and have every amenity you could wish for. Being the newest property in the group means that Oberoi Marrakech is at the very top of that scale in terms of the design, sumptuousnesses and spotlessness of its guest villas - large dressing room with plentiful hanging and drawer space, dedicated dressing table with convenient plug socket and mirror, stunning bathroom with freestanding bath and spacious shower room, dining and sofa relaxing area, the most comfortable beds, and tranquil landscaped outdoor space with terrace, sun-loungers, dining area and beautiful pool. Their villas are superb.
The eating experience at Oberoi Marrakech is also among the best and made even more so by the recent addition of their fine dining Indian restaurant - Rivayat. The setting of this restaurant, within the most magnificent courtyard overlooking a central reflecting pool, is absolutely stunning and the ambience, with contemporary music playing in the background, is perfect. The menu, designed by a London based Michelin star chef, is extensive and the cuisine is probably the best Indian food we’ve experienced anywhere including at Oberois in other parts of world. We loved Dhilli at Oberoi New Delhi but Rivayat has the edge on even this flagship restaurant. So much so that we will have dined at Rivayat on every night of our stay and will most certainly be frequenting the chef’s other restaurants in London upon our return to the UK.
Tamimt, the main restaurant, has a beautiful terrace overlooking the stunning grounds and Atlas Mountains, and offers an excellent breakfast menu and extensive international cuisine for lunch and dinner. The Moroccan ‘Msemen’, ‘Salads’ and ‘Pastilla’ are particular favourites. The main bar, Vue, likewise has a beautiful terrace, views and wide ranging menu. The spa complex appears to float within a natural pool and offers excellent treatments, tranquil relaxation areas and one of the best equipped gyms of any hotel we’ve experienced. The air conditioning in the latter could be improved by having the option to make it cooler.
THE standout at all Oberois is the people, and Oberoi Marrakech is right up there with the best as can be noted from their superb reviews. Whether from the unsung heroes in the housekeeping, gardening or food preparation teams, or the front line staff in hospitality etc., the service is superb. All staff have the most lovely nature and constantly strive to provide you with the very best experience. We’d particularly like to thank Samir and Amine in Concierge for arranging an excellent Marrakech tour and guide for us - another wonderful experience like the Atlas Mountain hiking trip arranged last year. Also, Ayoud, Oussama and Adil at Azure, Imad at Rivayat, and our most favourite Oberoi Marrakech team members of all - Mehdi and El Habib. It’s very well deserved that El Habib has recently been recognised with a promotion to a Manager position.
Thank you once again to Rohan and Mamdouh for the whole experience and everything you and your team have done for us - Oberoi Marrakech is truly superb and there’s no doubt whatsoever we will be returning for our fourth visit in 2025.

If there was a 10 star option, this hotel would earn the 10. We've stayed at hotels all over the world and this was the absolute best stay ever. In fact, I literally cried when we had to leave. The staff is unobtrusive while being the most attentive and cannot do enough to be certain that your every wish is granted. The villa with the private pool was incredible. The bathroom was incredible. The pool allows for two entrances back into the villa including into the shower where you may quickly wash off after swimming but you won't want to do so quickly because the shower is amazing. The free standing tub is also amazing (picture HGTV type gorgeous). There are two robes (a terry cloth one for after the shower and a lovely little kimono for lounging along with comfy slippers), AND there are also straw hats for the sun which the hotel comped us to take home. There is a lovely straw tote to take to the pool should you wish to go to a different pool than your private one. The bedroom and living room are comfortable, quiet and well equipped with charging ports, tables, lighting... It's just all so beautiful. The room is cleaned twice a day and we received delicious complementary sweets and fruit to enjoy along with bottled water, coffee, and tea. The welcome juice and a tour are such a nice touch and you are looking at a property that is such a large scale that you need the tour. There is a library to borrow books, we found some donkeys to pet in an orchard, and the grounds are gorgeous. There is a lovely spa in a serene setting too. We dine at two of the restaurants. One was for the delicious breakfast with so many choices which also served as an evening restaurant for us one night. They have a regular menu with many choices as well as a vegetarian menu, also with many choices. The food was excellent. The Michelin-starred chef Rohit Ghai, runs the Indian restaurant which was outrageously delicious! We ordered the zillion course meal with a flight of wine and loved every moment of this culinary journey. This restaurant also provides a vegetarian and regular menu. The Director of Rooms, Mamdouh Milad, didn't miss a moment to be sure that we were happy along with his staff who are there to make this place magical. It's truly magical and I hope that you have the pleasure to enjoy this wonderful place.

Absolutely flawless. Whilst I believe perfection does not exist the team at the Oberoi, Marrakesh individually and collectively deliver excellence.
Every aspect of the stay exceeded my expectation.
We found it incredible how every member of the team are trained to such a consistently high standard to deliver superlative service in every aspect.
The ‘guest is everything’ mantra.
On arrival the check in formalities were speedy and efficient, we were offered hot and cold towels and served Moroccan mint tea in the lobby before being taken to our bedroom (room 203) which was a Deluxe Villa with private swimming pool. The room was spacious and comfortable. Waiting for us in our room were complimentary welcome drinks, chocolates, scones, cakes and a selection of fruit.
The property was extremely clean throughout.
The service was bespoke in every way and all management and staff responded with speed of response.
WiFi connectivity was excellent throughout the property.
The dining was first class. Dinner in the Tamimt restaurant was a la carte and the food was well presented, tasty and flavourful. The waiter who served us was knowledgeable about the menu and the service was both prompt and professional. Breakfast offered a mix of al la carte and buffet items and was well prepared with the highest quality ingredients. There were most things on offer from a selection of freshly prepared fruit to a comprehensive bakery section. When we were welcomed at breakfast and shown to our table, I was asked for my room number and on confirming this the member of staff greeted me by my surname. Wonderful. We also had room service which was delivered to the room swiftly. A cornucopia of indulgence.
All staff were exceptional and went above and beyond. A special mention and thank you goes to Mamdouh Milad (Rooms Division Director) who greeted us on arrival, looked after our every need and accommodated a late check out for us.

I booked The Oberoi as a surprise for my husband's 40th and it did not disappoint.
Before arriving, I was in constant contact with Mamdouh who was able to promptly answer any query I had and facilitate all the requests I had to help make my husband's birthday extra special.
Upon arrival, we were greeted in such a lovely manner, we felt like royalty. Soukania was so friendly and kind during the whole check in process. She has a very warm and bubbly personality and it was a delight to interact with her during both the check in and check out process.
We were absolutely blown away by just how beautifully stunning this hotel is. The architecture, especially in the courtyard is very intricate & magical and the pictures don't do it justice; it is even more beautiful in real life.
When taken to our villa, we were pleasantly welcomed with a chocolate cake, champagne, birthday decorations and cupcakes for the kids. A lovely touch. The villa was very spacious and had everything we needed; a comfortable bed, good quality toiletries, fresh fruit & water replaced daily, top notch hairdryer, the list goes on. Housekeeping was very proactive and even replaced our toothpaste when they saw it was low.
The food was of a very high standard, whether we were ordering by the pool or at dinner. The breakfast team were an absolute delight. They even remembered how I like my coffee by the second day. The staff were so friendly and smiley and had a great rapport with my kids. There were not many kids staying at the resort whilst we were there but the staff still made them feel special.
There are 2 lovely donkeys on site named Sugar and Brownie. My son was fascinated with them and would visit them 7-8 times a day, even riding Sugar a few times. The staff kindly provided him with vegetables each day so he could feed them both.
The kids both used kids club one day; they had lots of activities on offer ranging from arts and crafts to video games. The kids throughly enjoyed their time there...whilst we made use of the beautiful spa!
If you are thinking about staying here, just do it, you will honestly not be disappointed. This is truly a 5 star hotel where all staff go above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. The hotel grounds are some of the best we have ever seen. We travel quite a lot around the world and are fortune to stay in some really beautiful 5 star resorts, and this is one of the best!
I would to end by saying an extra big thank you to Mamdouh who made our short trip so memorable. He would check on us throughout the stay to make sure we were always ok. We felt really looked after. He is a true asset to The Oberoi team. I am so glad we picked The Oberoi and we will definitely be returning to this beautiful resort.

It was truly excellent. We were celebrating mine and my daughter’s birthday and they went above and beyond to ensure it was special. Firstly we were upgraded to the presidential suite partly due to a cleaning issue in our original room which was rectified quickly with a series of other rooms offered. Secondly, our room was decorated for both birthdays and we also were serenaded with happy birthday on both birthdays by the staff at breakfast and dinner and given complementary cakes.
They could not do enough for our two year and even made a tent for her to play in in our room. We borrowed bikes to cycle around the grounds- the place is massive. The size of the hotel and grounds means in the quiet season it can lack atmosphere and intimacy but the hotel is stunning and looks like a palace.
The location is about 20 mins from the centre and a taxi is 200 MAD one way which does add up. They provided a car seat for our toddler which was great but a regular free shuttle would be good.
The restaurants are expensive ie basically London prices but the quality is great so worth it. The breakfasts are exceptional, it’s all from a menu rather than buffet which I really liked as it was a much higher standard than other hotels and there are all sorts of different options, there’s no lack of variety.
The pools were heated and even in Jan, our suite’s pool was warm enough to swim in. The indoor spa pool was a bit too cold for me though as was the public outdoor pool.
If you want a more intimate personal hotel that is near the city centre then this isn’t for you. If you want grand, palace style, secluded, quiet hotel, excellent service, and are not bothered by taxi fees and relatively pricey dinners then this is for you.

My wife and I spent ten wonderful days at the Oberoi Marrakech, from the moment you arrive you are embraced by the incredible staff, all of them are incredible making your stay absolutely fantastic. The main building of the hotel is like a palace with warm fires burning giving a very comforting feeling which extends to the bar and restaurants, the food is of the best quality with great choices from breakfast through to dinner with the specialist Indian restaurant being the star. Our villa with its own plunge pool was immaculate, spacious and very comfortable, fruit would be replaced daily along with your favourite tea or coffee. Complimentary bottled water was provided morning and evening, you could even choose from a pillow menu. I can not find fault and will return.

Our most luxurious stay to date. The long drive lined with olive trees and a faint smell of rosemary and lavender waft freely through the air, (the guard asks your name and then when you reach the parking and lobby everyone addresses you by your name. Amazing)
The water and fire at the entrance are very Oberoi. I have seen this at a few other properties in India. It is an invitation to luxury.
The lobby smacks your eyes with its beauty. The woodwork on the roof, the panels on either side, the fireplace, the carving, and the relief work all over are mesmerising. We gathered that it took 2000 artisans and 10 years to present to the world what you see when you enter the hotel. Even if you do not stay at the hotel, I will insist that you go for a meal and allow yourself to soak in the beauty.
Mamdoud Milad, the Director of Rooms, personally welcomed us to the hotel. He was very gracious to extend our stay on the last day as our train to Tangier was later in the evening. Mamdouh took a personal interest in every guest and checked on us every morning during breakfast, inquiring after our stay. He has been with the Oberois for 34 years, and you can feel it in his presence.
The breakfast is lavish, and olives, jams, and other preserves are made at the hotel and gathered from their 25-acre orchard. We want to make a special mention of Oussama, Karima, Mehdi, and Oumaima, who made our mornings delightful with their friendliness, impeccable service, and lovely conversations.
My early morning walks were fragrant with rosemary growing between the olive trees. There are proper paths all across the property, and it is delightful to breathe in fresh air.
Every single staff wishes you in the Oberoi style whoever s/he maybe whenever you cross their path while they are busy with the upkeep of the property.
Far from the madding crowd and yet only a 15-minute drive to the medina and train station, The Oberoi offers a very quiet stay unless you are taking plunges in your pool ever so often.
Again, Thank you, Mamdouh, Oussama, Karima, Mehdi and Oumaima.

This truly magnificent resort, is located 30 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from the centre of Marrakesh and we were greeted with a lovely welcome and provided informative details about the resort as well as interesting information about its background which was a great way to be greeted.
We were privileged to stay in a Deluxe Villa with Private Pool and when they say pool, they really mean pool as it is of a good size. The villa is extremely spacious, with a giant King Bed, large living area, then a separate hallway by the front door linking an extremely large bathroom area that includes a separate toilet, freestanding bathtub and a very spacious shower that has 2 doors so you can have direct access to the patio of the pool area, which again is extremely spacious too. The bathroom area has a separate walk-in wardrobe too.
The style of the resort is of opulence and splendour, set on beautiful grounds filled with palm trees, olive groves and lime trees etc. There is a spa with an indoor pool. There is also a very large outdoor communal pool.
There are 2 main restaurants, Rivavat, is a modern, gastronomic reinvention of traditional Indian cuisine, led by a Michelin-starred Chef, the restaurant is located within the majestic patio inspired by the Medersa Ben Youssef.
Tamimt has culinary delights from across the Mediterranean and India with a carefully curated menu with a stunning open-air terrace with beautiful views across the resort. Here is where they also provide breakfast.
The food at both of these places are amazing.
There is also Azur, that is next to the pool and provides lunch only.
There is 1 main bar called Vue and it has majestic views of the resort's gardens and the Atlas Mountains.
They also provide a complimentary return shuttle service to the centre of Marrakesh which is a nice touch. This truly is a fantastic resort.
Thank you for a wonderful stay and making lifelong memories that we shall cherish, Cheers 🇲🇦❤️.

Proud to say as an Indian that this is the best Oberoi and I have been to almost all of them, that too outside India. Beautiful, well maintained, great attention to detail and best staff. Starting with GM Mr Rohan Ongal, director of rooms Mamdouh, restaurant manager Shobhit to the house keeping staff who without even me telling got the damaged shoe I have thrown in the dustbin, got them repaired and put them back in the wardrobe. Can’t imagine any hotel acting so empathetic that too. Indian restaurant serves good dishes and breakfast has Indian dishes too which is a big deal given my cravings for Indian food the second inland abroad. Keep it going team Oberoi! Wish you many more of such hotels in every part of the world!
