My name is Hamid and I’m welcoming you to my traditional house in Imoughlad which is a traditional Berber village. It’s placed in the Atlas Mountains between Imlil and Asni. It’s a great location for trekking, paragliding, skiing and other excursions. A traditionally Moroccan breakfast is always included in the stay. And I’m also happy to offer you traditionally Moroccan dinner at my house. Furthermore I’m a tour guide for the Atlas Mountains and Agafay Desert. I’m very happy to offer trekking tours to the famous Mount Toubkal and around the area. If you need a transport from Marakesch to my place feel free to contact me. I’m happy to organize one for you. Please contact me for any further questions. I’m looking forward to host you.

Our stay at Dar Imoughlad was nothing short of exceptional. Traveling as a family of four, we were warmly welcomed by the hosts, who went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home. The guesthouse is nestled in a stunning location, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains—a true haven for nature lovers.

The rooms were impeccably clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated, reflecting the local charm. Each detail was thoughtfully arranged to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The beds were cozy, and we slept peacefully every night.

One of the highlights of our visit was the food. The traditional Moroccan meals prepared with fresh, local ingredients were simply divine. Our children especially loved the homemade tagines and desserts.

The hospitality was unmatched. The hosts were incredibly attentive and kind, offering us advice on local hiking trails and organizing activities to suit our family’s interests. They even helped us arrange transportation, which made exploring the area stress-free.

Dar Imoughlad is truly a hidden gem, perfect for families looking to experience authentic Moroccan culture while enjoying modern comforts. We left with wonderful memories and a deep appreciation for the warm hospitality. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Great experience! Hamid the owner is very friendly and accommodating. He speaks English, French and a little German. The breakfast is huge and everyone is full, guaranteed. Dinner is available for an extra charge, but is also very tasty and fresh. The beds were nice and warm and there was also a hot shower. The location is great for hiking, buses to Asni and Imlil also pass by regularly. If you like cats, you'll get your money's worth here!
A visit is highly recommended.

Dar Imoughlad is the perfect place to stay for a true authentic experience. Staying with Hamid and his kind family was a highlight of our trip through morocco. The location offers many beautiful and interesting sites nearby, and the food that Hamid's family cooked for us was the best we've had in Morocco. Everything that Dar Imoughlad has to offer for the extremely low price makes it the ideal place to stay for anyone travelling through the Atlas mountains.

Hamid was a wonderful host, who was always available for questions and advice.

The beds were comfortable, everything was very clean and the food was incredible and plentiful.

The accommodation is connected to two of the national parks and Imlil or Asni is a short ÂŁ1 bus away where there is a groovy 3-storey cafe restaurant in Imlil.

Hamid's excursions were incredibly well-priced and it includes transport, lunch at some great authentic restaurants and some cool insights into the villages. Hamid seems to know everyone in town!

And the locals are genuinely lovely.

I came because I wanted to see the mountains in Morocco.
I came alone, but it would be more convenient if you share with two or three people and take a taxi.
Even if you are alone, the owner of the accommodation will look into cheap taxi fares. The natural scenery, food, and feel of the accommodation are all satisfactory.
If you like Korean mountains, be sure to visit
Friendly owner and his wife’s excellent cooking skills!
This place reminds me of a lodge in the Himalayas.

I had a peaceful and restful time at Hamid’s. He is very kind and hospitable. The rooms are clean and every morning you can eat a delicious breakfast with coffee and tea. Every night you can also eat a delicious dinner here for an affordable price. He is experienced as a guide and you can do many excursions and hikes with him at a very affordable price. The Atlas mountains around are majestic and beautiful with many waterfalls. I would definitely love to come back here again and I would not hesitate to recommend Hamid’s place to anyone who is visiting Marrakech/Morocco - it is a great value for money!

Highly recommended, beautiful rooms, loads of blankets to keep warm, great free WiFi internet, hot shower, delicious breakfast and dinner. Private rooms with shared amenities, good value for money, the excursions are simply fabulous, ask Hamid he's your guide, he will organise everything for you, mules, horses, camels, trekking on foot, waterfalls, high mountain Alps, Berber villages, lush valleys and more, just ask Hamid, he's the man. Loved our experience.

Hamid is a fantastic host. He made us feel so at home. His place is comfortable, for the greatest value.

We can’t say enough good things about our stay. We keep talking about it and want to go back!! Hamid is a superhost for sure!!

Cozy, warm and comfortable room, with many extra clean blankets. Hot, clean shower with great water pressure, lots of privacy, located in a quiet and safe area. Breakfast in the morning was incredibly generous and delicious. My father ordered dinner as well and said it was fantastic and the portion was large, for a very good price. Hamid and the people who work here are so welcoming and kind.

I actually wished I could have stayed here instead of moving on to our booking in Imlil. For those who are staying here as a stopover before Imlil, and particularly those with rental cars, this is the place to be. Imlil is a less than 15 minute drive away (our map told me otherwise, which is why I booked us in Imlil for our trek). But this place would be an excellent base for trekking, especially as Hamid is a trekking guide. In my opinion, it would be best to stay at this warm, cozy place with a generous breakfast at the same or better value than the more popular and commercialized Imlil places, and use it as a cozy quiet spot from which to explore the area. It is also a bit further down the mountain and easier to access in poor weather than Imlil (although the roads from here to Imlil are mostly fine). So it is a good place to stay if you want to easily travel back down the road to Ourika, Asni, etc. You cannot beat this price and value, especially for the location and the kindness and warmth of the hosts.

Every time we have seen Hamid again he has invited us in for tea and meals with him, a very kind and welcoming person.

Thank you again Hamid for our wonderful stay! We will most definitely be back!!

Very warm welcome at Hamid’s. He listens to our requests and can offer excursions with or without a guide. Possibility of hiking to Toubkal (4167 m altitude with or without guide) from Imoughlad.
Fatima's cuisine is delicious: tagine, couscous...
Airport taxi to Imoughlad max 35 euros going directly through Hamid.
We will come back ! Thank you Hamid

Hamid leads a wonderful little hostel by the side of the road, the river and the mountains. As soon as I rang, he immediately knew who I was, showed me the room and invited me for tea. He was very helpful and attentive, and I think because of this the other guests whom I talked with were very relaxed and kind too. Now I'm sitting at breakfast, it's delicuous and plentiful. So I can only recommend. Saved me from the cold! :)
