Riad Layla Rouge was probably the best hostel I've stayed in. It had a warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the lovely staff, particularly Fatima, Karima and Simon. They were always friendly and looked after us very well :) The hostel was clean and had a cosy, homely feel, the dorm was nice and the beds were comfy. A particularly...

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. We were welcomed into the cool inner lounge, which was refreshing after walking through the hot and bustling streets of Marrakech. We were greeted by a really nice guy who gave us tea and cookies. We received a big, free breakfast every day we stayed there, consisting of bread, yogurt, jam,...

Simo is a great staff. Good breakfast, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, rooms are very clean, good location, it's very close to the Medina. Excellent hostel. I'll come back to visit it again if I back to Morocco. I recommend this hostel for everybody.

We had an amazing stay. The room was well furnitured, clean and cozy. We slept in the second riad, the other one was the main riad. The boys who worked here were super friendly and calm. Breakfast was served on the roof in the sun. Location is good. Just perfect!

I have nothing but praise for this Riad/ hostel. It would have to be the best place I have ever stayed. The Riad is gorgeous with several roof top areas to match. The staff, Mohamad and Othmane make you feel so welcome, treat you as you're at home and go above and beyond what they need to do so you...

Riad Layla Rouge is a nice hostel near Jemaa el-Fna square. Location, as most of the times in Morocco is tricky but you will manage to find it. Inside you will find a very traditional Moroccan house, the staff (sorry guys, i can't remember your names) were kind and helpful all the time. Room and toilet was clean and OK...

Spent another amazing week in Morocco and visited very nice places, but our stay in Layla Rouge was very relaxing and peaceful. An oasis in the desert! Othman and Simon are amazing. Will definitely come back.

This place was nice - location was perfect (and we did find our way there from the square with the directions the hotel provided), staff were friendly and accommodating, the two outdoor terraces were fantastic to relax on, and the rooms were pretty, spacious, and comfortable, though musty (no windows). The downsides were loud and frequent awful (rap and pop)...

This was one of my favourite places to stay in Morocco. The building is attractive and funky with loads of character - it's the kind of space which invites you to explore and take in the vibe, and in this way it reflects the city it is in. Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful and seemed like genuinely...

Very typical hotel in the center of Marrakesh, near of the square Jamma el Fna and "souks" in medina. Staff there was very kind. You can have a breakfast on the top of hotel at the terrace where is a nice view. Their coffee is the best.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
1 Minute from Place D'Jeema el Fna in the centre of the souqs and possibly the first ever edible hostel riad. The free tea and cake – may stop you from trying to bite into the walls – or maybe not... Have a taste…Riad Layla Rouge breathes in the Mad Hatter’s tea party of colour that Marrakech conjures, and breathes out the nearby chaos – a gentler but still eccentric heartbeat. If Riad Layla Rouge could, it would cascade chocolate from the fountain in the courtyard, but the impact is truly mouth-watering nonetheless. Tea and cake, free all day – may stop you from biting into the walls – or maybe not…they may actually be edible. Only one minute from the main square, the 3 suites provide absolute privacy, the gorgeous mixed dorm encourages adventure sharing. All can enjoy the warm, communal atmosphere of the courtyard, Moroccan salon-dining room, and 2 flower and fruit tree draped roof terraces. All this enhanced by your own personal soundtrack with ipod speakers in each room. A small and perfectly formed family run riad in the centre of the souqs – Riad Layla Rouge breathes in the Mad Hatter’s tea party of colour and spices that Marrakech conjures, and breathes out the noise and craziness nearby – a gentler but still eccentric heartbeat. You cannot help but find your favourite colour here – by day Layla Rouge is a vase of flowers or a box of hand decorated chocolates, or an techni-flavour ice-cream stand; by night a treasure chest of glittering jewels, or a sparkling solar system. Use your imagination. Riad Layla Rouge wants you to get comfy in Marrakech; to feel safe and happy; imaginative and inspired – we combine a hostel spirit and atmosphere with that little bit of indulgence that you find in a luxury riad. Share your stories of travel and life. Laugh over tea and cake with other guests in our (almost) edible house. As the Mad Hatter said to Alice: ‘You could stay…What a mad, crazy, wonderful idea…’Whether you are travelling for the first time, or have done so for years – enjoy the rhythm of a city that transforms with the cycle of the sun. When you stay at Layla Rouge you can’t be anywhere else but the Wonderland of Marrakech. ... more   less
