This fabulous little riad is tucked away in a quiet alley in the Medina, just a few metres from the busy, bustling Bab Doukkala market area for local Marrakesh residents. It’s not far from the bus station and fairly close the the north-western Medina wall. Ali kindly offered to meet us off the bus, but we chose to make our own way, as we weren’t sure of timings and had no phone contact the first day. He therefore sent us photos, which enabled us to find the riad easily. The area is completely safe, as long as you keep well to the right (yes, opposite to what we’re used to) to avoid the motor scooters that weave deftly through the crowds. A brisk walk to square Jemaa el Fnaa takes 20 minutes, but as there are shops and stalls all the way, it may take you longer as you can’t help but browse. There is a wonderful upmarket restaurant, 4.9 stars on Google, within about 300m « La Terrasse du Jardin », where I had an amazing vegetarian tagine (go for the « Royale »), but there are many tiny eateries in the vicinity offering delicious home-cooked food. The Riad was perfect. Friendly dedicated staff, everywhere spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated (just as you see in the photos), the water was always hot, and the friendly staff was always on hand to offer mint tea whenever you arrived back from a day’s sightseeing, or a night out. Breakfast was plentiful, tasty and varied and, although we were perhaps not the easiest of guests, my companion’s food intolerance was taken into account with all the extras she requested. It can be served inside, or in warmer weather, on the pretty terrace. The riad itself is super-safe. Guests are not given a key to the front door, but a staff memeber is available day and night and the door is opened within seconds. Each time you leave the riad, a staff member accompanies you to the door and wishes you a nice day. Staff members don’t sleep on site but the riad is manned 24 hours. If you are looking for the real Marrakech, and want to see local people going about their everyday lives, this riad is the perfect place to be.

Ali and Khalil were the best hosts. They are so kind, prepare a delicious breakfast every morning and give you amazing tips to discover the best food, activitities and drinks. It’s a beautiful riad, very clean and in a nice neighbourhood. It feels like coming home.

A fantastic stay in Riad Mylaya. The location was on the edge of the Medina which was perfect for us. We were picked up from the airport arranged by the Riad, who then met us at the edge of the road to walk us the rest of the way. Which was literally a 30 second walk. The Riad itself was excellent - a very high standard of accommodation. All the rooms had en-suites, the beds were very comfortable and pillows perfect!! When we arrived we were given tea and biscuits and given a map advising us where to go, good restaurants etc. The staff could not do enough for you. We had lovely breakfasts each morning, the rooms were made up every day and we also had a fantastic dinner made by them on our last night free of charge. Each day when we came back we weee offered tea and biscuits. They really couldn’t do enough for you. The Riad was like an oasis of calm stepping off the busy Medina streets. Once that front door is shut you cannot hear a thing. It smelt wonderful too - always lots of scented candles and reed diffusers. It smelt like a spa! We had breakfast of pancakes, pastries, honey and jams, on the lovely upstairs terrace each morning - a bit chilly this time of year but it was our choice and we had warm clothing. (You can sit inside). Dinner on the final evening was downstairs in front of the fire. This was by far our favourite meal of our entire stay!! Temperatures rose to early/ mid 20s from mid morning onwards so take lots of different types of clothing. The Souks are an experience!!!!! Very eclectic, colourful and just so interesting to walk through. Be very aware though of the motorbikes - they come from all directions and brush past you very closely through the narrow cobbled streets. There are no road rules here! We booked a hot air balloon ride through the Riad themselves - this was a fantastic experience - one not to be missed! We also visited the wonderful Majorelle gardens, had a spa scrub and massage and also walked to the French quarter Gueliz which was lovely. All in all a fantastic stay in a very beautiful Riad. 😊

The ryad is clean, well maintained, quiet. Ali who welcomes us is super available and listening. it is good advice. the breakfasts are hearty and very good. The terrace is very nice. No negatives for me. The location allows you to be in the souk in 10 to 15 minutes walk.

We had a fantastic family stay (with two young children)! The Riad is fabulous, warm, spacious and very comfortable. The terrace is very pleasant, a real treat for breakfast with family or friends! Ali and Dija, the hosts of the Riad are incredibly kind, we have rarely been welcomed like this, they listen to us, always available and bend over backwards to ensure that our stay goes for the best. I will end up saying that the staff on site are exceptional and the cuisine is delicious, with dishes on request that are more than hearty and typical Moroccan. a real change of scenery! Thanks again to all the staff at the Riad, and especially to Ali, who gave us a wonderful stay!

I stayed here for 3 nights and have no complaints. The rooms were exceptionally clean as was the entire Riad. It is a small riad which I liked. Breakfast was lovely with the usual coffee, pancakes, mint tea, pastries and bread etc however you could ask for anything in addition to this and this was happily accommodated. The location is about 25mins to the square however it's actually one straight road you walk along so it wasn't difficult to find at all. Ayoub was so helpful and went above and beyond, he really is a credit to your team. I would most definitely stay here again and would recommend to my friends and family. Thank you so much for a short but lovely stay and hope to see you again!

A warm and calm Riad in the heart of the medina where from breakfast to evening tea you will be pampered by the whole team. The cuisine is at the height of the restaurants, tranquility by a fire in addition. Thank you all for this beautiful Moroccan break.

Perfect!! What a pleasure to have chosen Riad Milaya for my stay in Marrakech. The riad is colorful, comfortable, well located but what is particularly pleasant is the welcome received. Ali is available and very cooperative to make you spend a memorable time in Marrakech. The blue room is very nice, the bathroom with bathtub and separate shower is spacious and well equipped (senses of Marrakech toiletries, quality towels). The terrace deserves the detour to relax or drink a tea kindly offered at any time of the day. It's the first time in this riad. I'll keep the address and go back longer. Thanks to Ali and his team!

Very clean, quiet and comfortable rooms, although small very cute. Staffs are very friendly and helpful, although they weren’t able to provide specifics, such as which restaurants are good or which ones to avoid. Location is not very easy to find, need to follow google maps which mean you have to have local Sim and data.
