La Mamounia Marrakech is celebrated for its immaculate cleanliness and enchanting atmosphere that captivates guests. While the hotel's location is universally praised for its serene yet convenient setting, opinions on service and value diverge, with some recognizing exceptional care and others pointing out inconsistent attention and high costs.
The luxurious amenities, including the well-kept gardens, are a highlight, though room experiences vary. Despite concerns over value, the hotel's ambiance and location continue to charm visitors.

The world-famous hotel with its serene sound promises traditional hospitality coupled with the latest comforts. With great attention to detail in the typical Moroccan style. Impressive lobby with fountain and roses. The hotel is secured for maximum privacy from the outside , no disturbing influencers or filming tourist groups are visible. A pleasant tranquility reserved exclusively for hotel guests. ( except the restaurants ) The rooms are available in many categories and often differ in location and thus price. Parkview does not necessarily have to be , even a view of the Medina and the Koutoubia Mosque have its appeal especially in the evening. The facilities are classic , everything available , comfortable beds , traditional , unfortunately somewhat dark bathrooms. Nevertheless, with flair and a lot of thoughtful comfort. The various restaurants are all worth a visit. Italian , Asian and Moroccan. Very dignified with first-class service. The food is in the gourmet segment. The prices also , but worth it. Various bars in and outdoors complete the offer. Breakfast is also excellent quality. Buffet and a la carte combined. The beautiful huge park, which is actually already assigned to a botanical garden, is wonderful for a walk. Succulents , but also fragrant jasmine shrubs or orange trees to name a few. The large pool is worth a visit. Service on the sunbed is part of it. Cocktails are brought to the lounger, or you can enjoy lunch at the Pavillion. Staff also contribute to the all-round relaxed and luxurious stay. Friendly and naming in all areas. I felt very comfortable and well looked after like rarely in a hotel. Loosely you can be pampered in the hotel for a few days without leaving the house. Of course, the location is also fantastic. In a good safe area , even the medina is within walking distance. An Arabic fairy tale will be was at la Mamounia. Belongs to the bucket list ... who loves exclusive hotels.

I’m just coming off a three nights stay here I stayed here two years ago with my partner for two nights so was nice to get a longer period that the hotel.
I genuinely love this hotel and the staff let me break it all down for you I booked this hotel via Amex FHR and got the usual perks but the checkin crew where amazing and I got a triple upgrade to a beautiful deluxe king room overlooking the gardens.
The room- This was a huge room with a super king size bed very comfy the room had a massive bathroom with tub and shower my only worry here is the shower is not enclosed and water gets everywhere I nearly slipped a few times so lay those towels down. The room had private balcony plenty of room with shutters that closed the room for privacy and keep the light and heat out.
Breakfast
This is the only thing I was not impressed by each morning was different first morning I was down early for 8 all the staff are lovely attentive etc. however last time you used to have the breakfast in the pool house this was the wow factor that’s missing they’ve moved it to the Italian not the same vibe. Also the management should review layout as good more so the fruit bowls where covered in tiny flies this completely put me off touching any fruit. I know insects are an issue but the flies where all over it when I pointed it out to staff they removed it but when I went back up short while after there where more. I don’t think this sets a good standard. On the second day was fine just felt a little left out had to ask for a menu and grab someone for a coffee after sitting there for good ten mins with no drinks or being offered any. Third day was worse again table not properly setup no menu and I had to keep asking for stuff with out being offered refills etc this I was deeply disappointed by not the same service was not consistent.
Bar and restaurants
I ate in the pool bar daily and once in the Asian restaurant the team there was incredible attentive and friendly and the sommelier that evening was particularly good and very knowledgeable and helpful.
At the bar the team are amazing especially the young lady who great you a credit to the hotel amazing hostess.
We plan to come back in October for three more nights I hope breakfast will sort itself couldn’t give this hotel any less than 5 stars just has a place in my heart and all I want is consistency when you’re paying what you are for what is definitely the best hotel in the world

It was an excellent experience at this resort from the beginning to the end. The service is spectacular. Whatever you need or want, they are there to get it done for you. One small example... I wanted to break some money into smaller bills and the usual person who did it was not at the desk. One of the ladies took the money and went to a bank/exchange place near-by and made the exchange.
Breakfast buffet service was very attentive and just fun looking out at the beautiful pool. My one complaint is there is always someone posted at the pool that kept asking us if we were residents.
The grounds are just beautiful and it is nice to walk around the paths and admire the plants. The resort is quite spectacular at night.
Our room had a nice view and we used the balcony quite often. The bed was very comfortable. One suggestion is the room should have a lower mirror or one that goes high -to- low. My wife wanted to blow dry her hair in the bedroom so she had to stand on a chair. The mirror was just too high for anything.
I liked that the bathroom had two towel warmers. We got caught in the rain one time and it was nice to have those clothes dried off by the next day. The bathroom amenities were ok.
They kept it well stocked with bottled water and you got a fresh date daily.
The location is about a 10 minute walk to the main square of the Medina. The hotel also did a good job of warning us that people will say they work at the hotel and remember us and they can show us where to go. This can lead to being forced to pay for a service if you don't nip it in the bud. They will leave you alone once you tell the you know where you are heading.
The taxi drivers at the nearby taxi stand are good at gouging because of their location and seem to have a set fee of 100 MAD for a ride that should be 30 MAD. You get a better price if you hail one in the street or one that just dropped off.
We did not sample the restaurants after we had our first dinner at the Italian restaurant. We felt the prices were high and there was no shortage of restaurants nearby or a short 30 MAD taxi ride away.
You are to wear a mask inside the buildings but as often is the case, some choose not to. We did wear masks.
I look back fondly on our stay there. Eight nights of superlative service.

After reading about the World’s most amazing hotels in Conde Nast, we selected the one of the top ten, La Mamounia, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, we were escorted to a luxurious lobby, served milk and high quality dates as part of our check-in. Luggage was whisked away and we were walked to our room by a staff member, pointing out the amenities and restaurants as we walked the property. The room was certainly large, beautifully appointed with king bed, facing chairs and credenza, with a beautiful desk (whose drawer included directions for Mecca). Bathrobes were available, with a large shower and bathtub. Toilet and bidet were off in a separate room. Of course the spa was fully booked and so we couldn’t avail ourselves of its service. The indoor pool was not heated, and there were no attendants. When one finally appeared, my wife couldn’t get a locker to work, and was told the locks didn’t work. The towel bin was overflowing with used towels, but clean fresh towels were not to be found. The whirlpool (jacuzzi) was tepid at best without any ability to increase the temperature (without staff anywhere to aid in this function). We tried one of the restaurants, seemingly overflowing the staff members—who spent all of their time texting and laughing with one another—while we waited to get service. After nearly 40 minutes of waiting, I ordered dessert, which was delivered about 15 minutes later. While delicious, it took another 30 minutes before anyone returned for me to pay the bill. I gestured with my hand and tried to catch someone’s eye, but eventually had to stand up and walk to the front desk to ask if someone would please give me my check! This is NOT service I expect from a highly rated world class hotel, but would be akin to a Motel 6 in America. For any millennial or younger, no matter how hard I looked, there were no “open” plugs or USB ports anywhere in the room (I found the direction of Mecca while opening and closing all of the drawers in the room seeking plugs or ports as they are sometimes hidden for aesthetic utility). Charge your devices before arriving! The only redeeming point was a stop for a “calm me down” cocktail in Le Churchill bar. The bartender was absolutely delightful, making every effort to make the drink exactly as we wished, even questioning which spirit we would like the most of the ones on offer. If all of the staff had been as attentive, what a difference the experience would have been. And just to be transparent, they had just reopened after a major renovation to several areas, so there were even more staff than might have been expected with reduced facilities. Skip the “luxury” for the authenticity you would have at a medina riad instead where you are charged for nothing and given everything (breakfast was NOT included in the price of the hotel room, while it was for all other hotels and riads I visited during my tour). As they say, the more you pay, the less you get.

In this Pension, I felt shame and discomfort. We stayed at this Pension for 5 nights with our teenagers. We had two bedrooms, and my daughter’s classmate, who is of Moroccan origin and whose family lives in Marrakech, was invited to spend the day with us by the pool. However, when she arrived, the Pension staff prohibited her from using the swimming pool and deckchairs, as she was a guest outside the Pension and allegedly uninsured. I offered to pay for her visit and access to the swimming pool, but I was also refused this, unless I booked a room for her, at the Award of around 850 euros per night. I do not understand what insurance they are talking about, knowing that the girl has international medical insurance. I would understand if we had invited a large group, but she was just a child. I was very embarrassed in front of my daughter’s friend. Eventually, they allowed her to sit only on a deckchair with my children, and they were all sweating under the sun. We had planned to spend time at the Pension and rest without going out, but now we will have to find distractions for the children so that they can spend time with their friend. This is unwise of the Inn management, as we will go to lunch and dinner elsewhere.
Regarding the rooms: we had booked two Deluxe Winter rooms, but they were small. On the website, it is indicated that these rooms are between 20 and 40 m2, and we obviously had those of 20 m2. The soundproofing was bad, we could hear the noise of cars. We had booked six months in advance and asked for nearby rooms, but we received rooms on the same floor, but at opposite ends of the Pension. Pension management tries to maintain an exclusive image, but the Pension is very large. Even if the staff does their best, with a large number of customers, there are gaps in service and you don't really feel the luxury.

Title: Disappointment on my third stay at the Mamounia
It was the third time I had stayed at the Mamounia, a place I had enjoyed on my previous couple visits for short stays. This time I spent a week with my family, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of my expectations.
The service around the pool is particularly disappointing. One person is in charge of the service, which makes the wait endless to receive a dish or a simple salad. There were four of us, but every morning only three deckchairs were available, despite our repeated requests. The lack of attention to detail for a hotel of this reputation is surprising.
In general, the service is extremely slow, whether at breakfast or dinner. Last night we had dinner at the bar, and the wait was, again, very long. For the price, I expected a much more responsive and attentive service and even the quality of the food and tiny proportions!
What’s particularly disappointing is that you don’t feel privileged at all as a guest of the hotel. The Mamounia welcomes more and more outside visitors, so that the atmosphere is almost reminiscent of a train station hall. As guests of the hotel, we feel like we are just one presence among others, without any particular attention, which falls far short of the standards expected here.
In comparison, our lunch at the Royal Mansour was a real delight: more affordable prices and a significantly higher quality of service.
After this disappointing experience, I fear that this will be the last time I return to the Mamounia. The level of service no longer justifies the rates charged, and it is a shame to see such a deterioration compared to my previous stays.

**Title: An exceptional stay in La Mamounia - 10/10!**
I would like to share my amazing experience at the La Mamounia hotel, which well deserves a 10/10. My stay was truly exceptional and I warmly thank all the teams for their professionalism and attention.
First of all, a big thank you to the reception team for the ease of my arrival and departure, which made my stay even more enjoyable. I would also like to congratulate Jamel from the starred Japanese restaurant for his attentive service and valuable advice, as well as Houcine and her team at the Bär Majorelle restaurant, where I would have liked to see a little more salad choices.
I am also grateful to Hasna from the Hermé tea room for the delicate improvised breakfast service, as well as to Khadija from the hammam and the spa masseuse, who offered a warm welcome and a high level authentic hammam experience.
Small touches to the pool, such as sunscreen and cleaning my sunglasses, are details that make all the difference and make your service exceptional.
As a regular at five-star palaces and hotels, especially in Switzerland, I am proud to be of Moroccan origin and highly recommend La Mamounia to my friends, convinced that they will have the same incredible experience as mine.
If you are looking for a memorable stay in Marrakech, do not hesitate to choose La Mamounia. I can't wait to get back! Nadia Aborchih

I had visited this hotel a few occasions to use the spa facilities and restaurants but never stayed in a room until recently. I had left previous trips with the impression this was the best hotel in the world. Having now stayed overnight in a room there, my opinion has sadly. If you are staying in a classic room, do not have high expectations about the size, they are pretty tiny! The shower is so dark that some light would really help. Our telephone to reception did not work, so had to walk to reception for any queries/room service, far from ideal. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated however. Both the outdoor and indoor pools are allegedly heated, and that may be the case, but they were unpleasant to swim in, not warm enough to enjoy. The hotel staff are overwhelmingly kind and professional, but the poolside staff seem to belong to a different hotel. It was difficult to get their attention, and we felt like a nuisance when they did take our food and drink orders. One time we ordered a glass of rose wine and white wine, then decided to have 2 more glasses so asked for the same again, this time the white wine given was a much more expensive wine. I’ll never know if this was a genuine error. The poolside food was basic, I had a very dry burger and skinny fries the kind I could easily get at McDonalds. The Churchill bar was previously somewhere with charm and character, as well as a piano. The leopard print carpet was divisive and can see why they updated it, but now since the refurb the bar is tiny, and very bland in comparison, with only bar stools to sit on, it wasn’t a place you wanted to stay and relax. Ironically for me, this was a bar where they do not allow smoking Which brings me to the smell of nicotine drafting around the public areas. They should have dedicated smoking areas, the smell really is awful. One occasion at the Majorelle bar we had to sit outside to have our drinks on a chilly evening just to escape the fog. Where I come from it is the smokers who are forced to go outside in the cold! Despite the negatives, I did enjoy my stay, the hotel is undoubtedly beautiful, and the vast majority of staff are wonderful. I just would think twice about staying there again on my next trip to Marrakech. I have rated this as very good, despite my criticisms, as I could not possibly label this place average. If I were to give it a rating myself it would be ‘room for improvement’.

I'm not easily impressed, but holy moly, this place knocked my socks off! The attention to detail is crazy - like, even the toilet paper was folded into a little flower (weird, but cool). The staff are like ninjas, always there when you need 'em, invisible when you don't. And the views? Fuhgeddaboudit! Breath-taking doesn't even begin to cover it. If there's a heaven,

From a hotel like this the expectations are very high. Some things are very good, others need improvement. The check in was a little slow and the welcome cocktail was hot served on sofas with other guests. The room was very nice but not very large I recommend garden view because they have more privacy. We ate 4 evenings at the l'Italien restaurant. The dish of the day was always the same 'tagliatelle with lemon cream'. Say dish of the week and not of the day. Breakfast was the thing that I was more disappointed. There were no strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, I was expecting a choice of cold cuts of better quality and quantity. There was no bresaola, raw ham, loin, salami. The desserts were good but few, nothing with cream or cream. Breakfast costs €45 per person. Very nice swimming pool. You can breathe history in the hotel, the Churchill bar is very beautiful.
