We stayed for a 3 day break in March 2017. Philippe and Isabelle are superb hosts and all the team at Dar Alif deliver attentive and friendly service - we could not fault them. We spent 2 days in the city exploring and our favourite places were the Jardin Majorelle, The Museum of Photography, Madrasa Ben Youssef and the Bahia...

Riad Dar Alif is not only a charming oasis situated in the narrow alleys of the old jewish Mella, it is a home! Three Norwegian couples stayed there for a week, starting the day on the spacious roof terrace, having Maroccean breakfast with a stunning view over the rooftops to the Atlas mountains, some of the days finishing with superb...

Gem is the perfect word to describe this lovely Riad in Marrakech. Phillippe and Isabelle went above and beyond to accommodate us after weather in Boston fouled up our travel plans. They arranged another Riad close by when they could not fully accommodate our group and never let us see if they were frustrated with our multiple plan changes. For...

Isabelle and Philippe are the greatest hosts. They make you feel welcome and safe, help you with anything you need, from recommendations to insider tips, and they make you feel at home. The location is perfect, you can walk everywhere. Their terrace is the best, ideal to watch the sunset with a bottle of Moroccan wine. Their breakfast is prepared...

I like some of the other travellers spent hours searching for the perfect Riad for our family - finally settling on Dar Alif. I have to say it was the best choice we made - it's a fantastic little gem hidden within the side streets! Phillipe and Isabelle are the perfect hosts and together with their fantastic staff they made...

My wife and I recently stayed at the Dar Alif for 5 nights and loved the experience of the Riad. The place is beautiful and gets you into a holiday mood as soon as you step inside. Our bedrooms were nicely done, super clean, very comfortable beds, big shower area and there is also a safety box in the room....

We had the pleasure of staying here for two nights recently and wish we could have had longer! Dar Alif is a cosy home away from home, and I felt so welcome and comfortable throughout the stay. Philippe and Isabelle felt like old friends who couldn't have done more to help us during our trip. We were welcomed with the...

I recently stayed at Dar Alif Riad with two friends. The location was great and the room was lovely, clean and very comfortable but it's the owners and staff that make it so special. We were welcomed with tea, delicious pastries and given plenty of helpful advise and tips for our schedule. Isabelle and Philippe (the owners) went above and...

We have tried - but were unable - to write this review on Booking.com. Our stay with Philippe and Isabelle was exceptional in every regard. Together with their local staff, they made us feel at home and at ease, for every day of our 6-day visit with them. They have a remarkable combination of dedication, French savoir-vivre, and many years...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hardly located at 7 mn on foot of the very famous Place Jemaa El Fna, at 5 mn of the Palace BADIA and 5 mn of the Palace BAHIA, the riad accommodates you in all user-friendliness in the middle of Derb El Kheir, among the maze of the lanes of the old city of Marrakech. While reaching it on foot since the car-park of the palace BADIAyou will enter in a very another dimension. While curving in the middle of the lanes of the medina, for the pleasure of the eyes of each moment, you will penetrate in an intimate environment, confined between large ochre cob walls, marked out small doors out of wooden or iron, behind which the daily life of the marrakchia families proceeds to the rhythm of time which passes. The 4 rooms and 2 suites and arranged with taste according to different themes, were thought for your best comfort. ... more   less
