A very special small hotel in an ancient Moroccan riad. With just 7 beautiful rooms, a sky-blue pool and a sun-drenched roof terrace, the atmosphere is relaxed and intimate. Cyril and his friendly team feel like an extended family, serving delicious homemade tagines and creating personalised experiences to help you explore this exotic city. Nothing is too much trouble. Just a 5-minute walk from Jemaa el Fna, l’Orangeraie’s location is perfect, yet it is astonishingly peaceful here, a calm retreat after a morning in the bustling souks.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

Riad l'Orangeraie is an exceptional place. The team, and I would name them except I'm afraid that I would miss someone, is remarkable in their work. From the moment we arrived, team members provided unmatched service. We sorted our luggage and were invited to have traditional Moroccan tea and were then brought to our rooms where our luggage was waiting for us. We arrived late in the evening so quickly dressed for dinner and enjoyed a remarkable and delicious meal. Every single member of the team went above and beyond. There are not enough superlatives to express our satisfaction with our rooms, the food, the atmosphere, and the service. The staff arranged a guide for us, transportation from the airport and then to the train station days later, and were available night and day to respond to inquiries, requests, and any services. Everyone in our party offered the same superlatives as we discussed our stay. Simply the best at everything.

This is the second time I have stayed at Riad L’Orangeraie within the past 14 months and I would never have thought it could have excelled itself even more than before but it did! The staff go beyond the call of duty. Their attention to detail, kindness and professionalism is fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. The Riad itself is a haven. The rooms are understatedly chic and very comfortable and they provide the most beautiful smelling products in the bathrooms. The roof terrace is magical day or night and starting the day with a breakfast of homemade breads and jams, fresh fruit smoothies and eggs of your choice under (hopefully) the bluest of skies is an experience not to be missed. Cannot recommend this Riad more highly.

Thanks to the amazing team at Riad L’Orangerie for an incredible four-day stay. Walking through the front door from a busy Medina street is liking stepping through the wardrobe from The Chronicles of Narnia: all of the sudden you are transported from the hyperactive streets into an oasis of tranquility. From the rooms to the library to the dipping pool to the roof terrace, everything is designed to make you feel calm and restful. The location is perfect: if and when you want to venture out, a turn to the left gets you to a taxi stand in less than 5 minutes and a turn to the right puts you in the heart of the Medina in just a few steps. The traditional daily breakfast (yogurt, fruit, breads, fresh juice, mint tea, etc.) on the rooftop overlooking the Medina and the Atlas Mountains was a great way to start the day
What puts this Riad over the top in my opinion is the service: everyone made you immediately feel like you were staying at a good friend’s home. And if you like to plan in advance, the owner Cyril and the manager Aziz will quickly respond to your emails and make arrangements: among other things, they planned a delicious dinner, a walking tour, a cooking class, and car transport to Fez for us. It was comforting to know that so many activities and plans had been taken care of before we arrived In Marrakech. I simply can’t imagine this level of personal service and concern elsewhere.
I look forward to returning soon!

Dreamy spot to be in Marrakesh. We are still thinking of our stay there and how much we immensely enjoyed our times in Morocco. So happy we did a last minute trip there and stayed at this gem of a place: Riad L'Orangeraie. Excellent communication from the beginning to the end and the staff were lovely, with a terrific sense of humor and always happy to share information and make plans for you to do day trips outside of the city.
We were very appreciative of their outstanding hospitality service-- they truly made you feel valued and welcomed-- "People will forget what you do; they'll forget what you said. But they'll never forget how you made them feel" and this totally captures Cyril and his team at the Riad L'Oragngeraie. They know what it means to be in hospitality and how to give more than people expect.
The riad is a gorgeous piece of heaven and you can see all the love and work put into the riad. We felt very much right at home and our Nutmeg room was perfect for us-- soothing colors, very comfortable bedding and wonderful shower. One of our favorite places were to be at the rooftop watching sunrises and sunsets and we did our painting and reading up there as well. Daily breakfast is included in the price, and it is very tasty and the team always made their morning rounds checking in and making conversations. A lovely personal touch. The other fun aspect of staying there was the nightly viewing of one of the most important movies in the cinematic history-- the Casablanca. They know how to make magic at this place and it shows.

I am a 35 year Hospitality professional and have manages and stayed in numerous luxury hotels in my life. NEVER have I experienced anything like L'Orangerie. Cyril and his team are second to none. Every detail, thought and need has been accounted for and delivered on. The service epitomizes an adage that I taught my staffs, "excellent service is like a butterfly, seen but never felt. These guys have that to a tee. The service is authentic and genuine and you feel their passion for hospitality. From the night manager to the kind woman that welcomed me back to the Riad durning the day to the server for breakfast.
As far as the design, ambiance and comfort of the Riad, it is simply spectacular. Once you walk through the Medina and go through the big wooden door to the Riad you are in an oasis of clam, quiet, peace and understated luxury. There are no hanging Moraccan lanterns or tacky touristy decor, just simple, clean, design forward, elegant surroundings. From the entrance to the rooms to the incredible rooftop retreat, you can see the love, passion and class that went into every detail of the Riad.
The location of L'Orangerie is perfect. Its a 5 min walk to a side gate of the Riad so you dont need to play bumper cars with thousands of tourists. It is 5 min to the main square and its in a quiet, more residential area in the Medina.
Again as a hospitality professional and someone that has traveled and lived in dozens of international locations, what Cyril and his team has created is unique, amazing and not to be missed!

Cyril and his staff at L’Orangeraie were most welcoming starting with a smooth airport pick up to the gates of The Medina. We were then escorted on foot with our cases safely in a wooden trolley and had our first taste of The Medina with all its bustle, colour and charm. We arrived at No. 61 and were immediately greeted and then shown around this beautiful Riad. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and on our first evening we met old friends and after drinks on the amazing roof top overlooking the Atlas Mountains we were served a superb Tagine dinner next to an open fire. Our room was ‘Saffron’ and was spotless and most comfortable with authentic touches of Moroccan styles and colours. (My husband is an old movie lover so seeing Casablanca projected on the walls was a hit)! I 100% recommend this Riad When we checked out at 6am Cyril kindly got up to say goodbye to us. Thank you Cyril and all your fantastic team.

I have not read the other reviews as I did not want them to influence my thoughts. I can surely imagine that they were all great because it would be imposssible to imagine anyone not having anything less than an excellent experience at L'Orangeraie. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home with our sit-down chat with Azziz where we drank mint tea while he circled hot spots for us to see on a map of the Medina. Then a tour of the Riad ending in our beautiful room. "Nutmeg" I believe. It proved to be a wonderful haven for rest and relaxation. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the sheets and pillows were so so amazing. The bathroom was for me the highlight of our room. A beautiful spacious place with a giant shower, amazing hot water and beautifully decorated with Moroccan lamps. The soap, shampoo, lotion all smell of oranges including, somehow, the towels all making your time there a beautiful sensory dream. We arrived late and they offered to have dinner ready for us when we arrived. Our first of many Tagines. We ate on the rooftop terrace and it was fantastic. In the end we ate almost all of our dinners at the Riad save for two nights when ate out. Azziz organized two day trips for us. One was a trip to Imlil in the Atlas mountains for a traditional Berber lunch at a cliffside village. The second was a sunset dinner in the dessert. Both experiences were outstanding. Our guide on these adventures was Jamal. He took amazing care of us and was a wonderful companion. We learned more from him about Morocco than from any other source and we feel that we made true friend. I can't think of a single negative thing to say. If you go to the Medina, stay here. You will not be sorry. Azziz, Jamal and the rest of the team became family to us and I was in tears when we left. The Medina is mayhem, Riad L'Orangeraie was like floating on a cloud in heaven.

We had an amazing time at Riad l'Orangeraie. It was easy to organise, Cyril was helpful in co-ordinating our stay as we split our time between Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains. We stayed in two suites either side of a trip to the Atlas Mountains and they were both beautiful (Nutmeg and Paprika). The bathrooms were a great size and hot water was not an issue.
The Riad is tranquil and yet so close to the souks and within easy walking distance of the main attractions. The roof terrace is a wonderful place to spend time.
The breakfasts were really good and we had one evening meal at the riad (on the roof terrace) which was some of the best food we had in Marrakech - thank you Nadia! All of the staff we met were absolutely lovely and so helpful - Aziz, Jamal, Omar, Imad and the rest of the team, thank you very much!
We were recommended to stay here by a friend who had been many years ago, we will definitely be recommending it to our friends for years to come!

Our first visit to Morocco and very happy to have chosen to stay in Marrakech at Riad L’Orangeraie. The decor of the Riad is immaculately maintained and stylish, combining the authenticity of traditional crafts and arts for the furnishings, walls and ceilings whilst ensuring guests can relax in comfort in high quality rooms, suites and amenities. There’s also a generous amount of shared spaces with a courtyard and large pool, lounge with fireplace, chairs, tables, books, magazines, games and a roof terrace where we had a breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner.
We always like to explore new places by walking around town, if possible, to get a good sense of local culture, people and history. The Riad is in the perfect location so we could easily walk around the medina and visit palaces, museums, gardens and parks along with many cafes and restaurants to take refreshments and enjoy the local delicacies. A few highlights to mention: we loved the Ben Youssef Madrasa with it’s intricately carved plaster facades, painted wooden ceilings and tiled floors; the ceilings in the Bahia palace are simply amazing; relaxing in the late afternoon and enjoying the green spaces and tranquility in the Cyber Parc Arsat Moulay Abdeslam.
We really enjoyed our vacation and time in Marrakech. What made this vacation extra special was the Riad staff. The service provided, attention to detail, warmth and hospitality was exceptional throughout. Special thanks to Aziz for making us feel welcome on arrival, recommendations on places to visit, booking restaurants, organising our wonderful trips to the Atlas Mountains and Essaouira and dinners at the Riad. Jamal for being a great and patient guide on our trip to the Atlas Mountains and organising a delicious lunch with a local family. Nadia, Omar, Khadija, Jamal and Iman for providing great service and wonderful warm conversations at breakfast and dinner. The food at the Riad was exceptional too. Yes - we loved the tea and the Tagine is the best in town!!

You are absolutely made to feel warmly welcomed and an individual without being suffocating. The riad is absolutely exquisite in taste and the staff team are phenomenal and show genuine care and interest. The roof top is the place to chill in between the souks and the location is excellent. Hello,
In answer to your question, we do provide laundry services that we outsource to a reliable vendor. The cost is reasonable and is approximately 1 Euro per item (depending on the material of the piece). All laundry pieces return within 24 hours.
Hello,
I'm sorry for the delayed response but did not see the question at the time.
In answer to your question, we can organise day trips with our drivers to the Atlas Mountains and in Essaouira which is an old city on the Atlantic cost (both places are located less than two hours drive from Marrakech) or to Ait Benhaddou which is a bit further. These trips outside Marrakech are always enjoyed by our guests and allow you to explore even more of Morocco. We also have a fantastic new excursion which will take you from the Agafay desert (close to Marrakech) to the Atlas Mountains, along off-road tracks.
I hope this answer your question but please feel free to send us a direct message if you need more explanations.
Kind regards,
Cyril

Thank you for your nice message and your question.
We don't work with the main online providers which is why you need to search for Riad l'Orangeraie and go directly to our website.
Our Riad is centrally located in the 'Mouassine' district in the old town (definitely the best district in the medina), 400m from the main square and 200m from the entrance of the market. Yet once inside our walls, you'll find a peace and quiet that will never let you believe you are so close to the hustle and bustle!
Throughout your stay with us, we will be available to provide you with advice regarding trips, restaurants and sightseeing tours. We have a full concierge service available from 9am to 10pm everyday and free wifi access to the Internet in each room. There is a pool and a hammam at your disposal and a possibility to book cooking classes.
Please let us know your dates of stay and we will reply quickly with a quote and the booking process.
We would be delighted to have you stay with us and you can be confident that we will do all our best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
We look forward to hearing from you.
