Dinner: Disappointing. The manager at our riad highly recommended the restaurant and called ahead early in the day for a reservation. When we arrived, they could not find our reservation and we were seated away from the main dining area. The wait staff was pleasant but the service was slow to the point of discomfort. The cheese we requested for...

This was my second stay at Al Moussika and it was even better than the first. Hassan and his staff are fantastic, the riad is stunning and so peaceful, especially considering its proximity to the main square, and our room was amazing. Extra touches like complimentary airport transfers and mint tea and pastries each afternoon all add to the experience....

Originally a small palace in the souk, this is a magnificent restaurant and also as a Riyad has a few rooms as an exclusive hotel. Although I have never stayed the night, I have eaten there four times and it is truly amazing. A mix of Moroccan and Italian cuisines with tables around the courtyard and small pond, the setting...

Stayed in this beautiful Riyad for our honeymoon and it was perfect. I can't recommend it enough; we stayed in the Green Suite and as well as having a seating area outside the room we also had our own private rooftop terrace where we served afternoon tea. Our room was lovely albeit a little on the dark side (but that's...

This Riad is the real deal. Formerly a palace for a King's consort, this house was full restored and is beautiful. The restaurant "Pepe Nero" is one of the best in Marrakech and quite pricey. The riad is away from the main streets and was quiet although easy to find as the restaurant is signposted. The staff were very friendly...

We loved our three nights in the riyad. We thought it was very beautiful (apart from the restaurant chairs and tables around the pool). The Green Room has wonderful decoration, and a fantastic roof terrace with sun loungers and greenery, and views over the rooftops, where we were served afternoon tea. We had a bracing swim in the pool, and...

Last time I came to Marrakech (2years ago) My husband and I ate at the restaurant here, it's called Pepe Nero and we were so impressed that we decided to treat ourselves to a 3 night stay here. It is an expensive treat compared to other 5 star hotel and riyad prices but it seemed like such a luxurious place...

It's with a very heavy heart that I write this review, as i have very fond memories of this Riyadh. My husband and I fell in love here some years ago, and have been back since. My husband first came here when its creator Giovanni first opened the Riyadh and it was by all accounts a magnificent creation which sought...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Riad Al Moussika - For comfort, style and refinement. THE Riad experience in Marrakech! Situated in the ancient medina of Marrakech, five minutes walk from place Jemaa El Fna, the Riyad was once one of the residences of the former Pasha of Marrakech, Thami El Glaoui, and has been refurbished to a very high standard in the Andalucian style. One of the gates of Riyad Al Moussika opens on to a garden with old cypress trees soaring to the sky, a huge bougainvillea climbing across the pergolas, a swimming pool, in the centre or, more precisely, an Andalucian basin thirteen meters long, tiled with a mosaic carpet design. Here water falls from a white Carrara marble fountain to the songs of numerous small birds creating an idyllic scenario, in spite of being in the heart of central medina. A fireplace gives the winter evenings a cosy atmosphere, as do the impressive modern paintings, carpets, sofas and armchairs. There is a hi-fi system and an art deco Pleyel grand piano perfectly tuned for the pleasure of the guests. The Turkish bath or hammam in white marble with a relax room where, on request, a professional masseur can take care of the guests. There is a unique view of the medina and the Atlas Mountains from the two terraces that are sheltered partially with wooden pergolas and surrounded by large terracotta flower vases. Tables, comfortable armchairs with cushions and teak chaises-long allow guests to request breakfast and candle lit dinner, as well as to sunbathe during the day. On one of the terraces there is a pavilion with Moroccan sofas, cushions and lamps should some of the guests prefer a more intimate space. The resident Chef, Grand Diploma Cordon Bleu, has devoted his life to gastronomy and invites lovers of fine dining to experience his repertoire of Moroccan, Italian and French cuisine at the haute Cuisine riyad's Restaurant PEPE NERO. There are 4 double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathroom. All rooms have air-conditioning / heating system, telephone with external line, television with the major satellite channels (BBC, CNN etc.), Internet wireless connection is available and DVD in the music room. ... more   less
