Opened in 2007, Les Borjs de la Kasbah is an intimate boutique hotel with just 18 en-suite rooms, from Singles to Suites, combining all the character of a traditional riad with an excellent range of facilities and modern comforts and the professionalism of a friendly and dedicated staff of 25. Close to the Royal Palace and a 15-20 minute walk from the famous Jemaa el Fna square, the hotel has a fully licenced bar, a gastronomic restaurant featuring Moroccan as well as French cuisine, 3 lounges and a meeting room, all with free Wifi. A few yards from the hotel's main patio a secluded leisure area features a 10m swimming pool (a rarity in the Kasbah and, indeed, in the medina) and a SPA with traditional marble-clad hammam and treatment rooms where a variety of massages, facials and other treatments can be enjoyed. There is direct access to the hotel's front door by car, minibus or horse-drawn calèche.

I spent three wonderful nights at this charming and beautiful riad - and wished I could have stayed longer. This was my second visit to Marrakech but my first as a solo traveller - and I felt totally at ease as soon as I was greeted in the comfortable salon with fresh mint tea and pastries. Throughout my stay I was given the warmest welcome by lovely owners Tom and Nora and their fantastic team, from front of house superstars Khatija, Hamza and Jamal to culinary queen Meryam (whose breakfast pancakes are out of this world), not forgetting spa angel Fatija, who worked her magic so well I kept nearly falling asleep during my treatments!

My (premium double) room was just perfect, with authentic decor, super-comfy bed and amenities that elevated the experience, including a bath and separate shower, bathrobes and luxury Les Sens de Marrakech products in the huge bathroom, TV with international channels, aircon and minibar/fridge. The central courtyard below was a peaceful and atmospheric setting for a delicious dinner on my first evening (there is an indoor bar and restaurant too.) A short walk into another open courtyard leads to the heated pool, which is a great size for a riad in the Medina and the perfect temperature to be enjoyed year round. I enjoyed relaxing in the afternoon sun, with snacks, lunch and drinks available to order via a handy call button. To be able to cool off in the pool was a bonus during a hot weekend.

The location in the Kasbah area in the south of the medina is perfectly placed, on a quiet street, away from the craziness of the souks and Djema el-Fna square (although it's walkable to all the main sights within 15-20 mins). This part of the medina has a very friendly, local, village atmosphere, with some great places to eat and drink close by (check out Odette on the rooftop of La Sultana hotel for a high-end cocktail treat, and Zeitoun Cafe, both a few minutes' walk away for incredible mocktails and great food). I felt very safe walking back alone late at night, with lots of people out and about and little shops open. On my last morning I took a stroll down an unexplored street and encountered ad-hoc fruit and veg stalls opening for business, without another tourist in sight.

I thoroughly recommend a stay at Les Borjs, whether visiting with friends, family, as a couple or alone. Tom, Nora and team offer the very best in hospitality, combining the authentic experience of staying in a riad with superb facilities at incredibly reasonable rates. (Book directly for the best deals - and I say that as a seasoned Expedia points-gatherer!) I guarantee that you will feel like an honoured guest and leave thoroughly relaxed, refreshed and with treasured memories. I shall most definitely return!

From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Hamza who kindly offered us Moroccan mint tea in the courtyard while he completed our check in. The warmth and hospitality continued for the whole stay by everyone we came to deal with during our holiday. The Riad is beautifully decorated and I would say spacious compared to other Riads I considered in Marrskesh. This was a plus point for us especially when traveling with an active toddler. The suite we stayed in was so spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The owners of Les Borjs des la kasbah clearly paid attention to every detail and have created an oasis of calmness and tranquility in Marrakesh.
Here is my review regarding some of the Riad’s facilities:
Restaurant - the food in the restaurant is freshly prepared and they were also happy to accommodate for my little one. Highly recommend the vegetable couscous 😍
Breakfast was varied and fresh. Local jams and breads available. The smoothies that were made daily were delicious.
Pool and spa - these were clean and decently sized. Plenty of sun loungers and clean towels around. the pool size was great for a Riad. Many Riads have tiny pools and this was bigger than many I considered. I used the spa and had the best massage and pedicure, too!
Ambiance - the whole ambiance of the Riad was just so tranquil and felt like home away from home. The library / tv room was nice to just sit and relax with a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice or mint tea. It was also like a meeting point for other guests and it was nice to meet other people from different parts of the world. There was always calm music playing in the background which added to the ambiance of the Riad. The courtyard had a little fountain, orange trees in the middle and bougainvillea that climbed on the walls which were just wonderful.
It was one of the best holidays I’ve recently been on and this was largely due to us choosing to stay at Les Borjs des la kasbah! Thank you and we hope to see you again soon!

I stayed at Les Borjs de la Kasbah with my wife for one week. We were made to feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Nothing is too much trouble for the team there they are amazing, super friendly and super helpful.
The hotel is beautiful, cool and amazingly quiet considering the hustle and bustle happening outside.
The food at the Hotel is of a very high quality and tastes just amazing and at a very reasonable price, i had dinner there a few times and during the day you can have an assortment of light meals, i definitely recommend the burger and fries.
We stayed in room 205 which is simply delightful and has the biggest bathroom you could wish for, the room was cleaned and made up every day.
The pool area is clean and the pool very refreshing and we caught the sun there for a few hours each day, try the massages in the Spa next to the pool area, we had the full body massage and it was brilliant, i came out so relaxed that i had to go to the bar and have a relaxing beer or two. There is also a roof terrace which is very good for the sun worshippers.
The Hotel is on the edge of the Old town so you are far enough out so as not to hear the noise and close enough to take a stroll up to the main square as well as the local attractions.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Hamza on reception, he was always on hand with some good advice and always managed to get us a taxi.
Fatima, Nawal and Nadine for always keeping me topped up with Casablanca and of course Nora and Tom the fantastic hosts.
I can honestly say that i had an amazing time at Les Borjs de la Kasbah, if you are intending on visiting Marrakesh then this is definitely the place to stay.

See you all again soon.

Les Borjs de la Kasbah is absolutely wonderful. It is spotlessly clean, breakfast freshly cooked, snacks, dinner and alcohol available daily and of a very high standard. Rooms are extremely comfortable and bathroom well equipped with walk in shower, toiletries and beautiful white fluffy towels daily. The owners, Nora and Tom are exceptional. They give excellent advice about the Medina and will book trips for you. All staff are just amazing. The spa and pool are also of a high standard. I enjoy holidays and always stay in 4 or 5 star hotels including India and Dubai as well as Europe. You will not be disappointed here. I have no hesitation in recommending Les Borjs de la Kasbah. I

A wonderful stay away from the hustle and bustle of the Old Town, Marrakech. From the first moment we stepped into Les Borjs de la Kasbah, we received such warmth and service. We were invited to sit down and served the traditional Moroccan mint tea with pastry delicacies and whilst sitting and viewing our surroundings it was immediately apparent we had chosen our holiday base well. Les Borjs is beautifully appointed and you have a true feeling of the Moroccan culture. Having never visited North Africa previously, we were a little apprehensive. There was absolutely no need to be. Each and every member of staff could not have been more helpful. During our 10 day stay we were able to experience everything delightful about Marrakech. Nora and her husband Tom were on hand to offer any assistance or advise needed. The reception staff speak very good English and were so helpful in organising taxis, trips and horses & carriage! Hamza especially, offered us help with directions to various places of interest within the Medina. A tip for intended visits - The Koutoubia Mosque in the Medina is a good landmark, it's a beautiful building which can be seen from everywhere! It helped us out more than once.
We were shown to our room, a large traditional space. The bed was enormous and so comfortable and our sheets were changed often. The towels were so big and luxurious and again changed daily. We also had very comfortable dressing gowns which were handy to wear when visiting the spa within the complex. We both recommend trying one or two of the various treatments available, they are so good.
Pool towels are provided if you want to swim in the spotlessly clean and warm swimming pool. There are plenty of sunbeds in either full sun or shade.
Out of our 10 day stay we ate seven nights at the Les Borjs restaurant. The set menu with three courses changes daily and the a la carte menu again provides traditional Moroccan cuisine. All food is freshly cooked to order and having spoken to Tom, we know the produce is locally sourced. The breakfasts offer continental or cooked (or both) catering for all tastes, again all freshly provided.
We can not recommend Les Borjs de la Kasbah highly enough, it's an oasis within the crazy hustle and bustle of this Moroccan city.

From the warmth of the first greeting to helping to load our cases, it would have been impossible not to feel the pride of every staff member in making our stay feel quite exceptional. Congratulations to Tom and Nora your dedication to excellent service is obvious. Everything was made so easy for us from helping to organise airport transport, providing spotless and beautifully decorated surrounds and rooms, very comfortable beds and great breakfasts with lots of choice. I had a traditional hammam and massage at the spa, it was joyous and so relaxing I would highly recommend. We walked easily to all the sites of Marrakesh, we laid by the lovely pool, we had cocktails, a lovely dinner in the evening at the restaurant and all within the walls this tranquil, orange blossomed scented Riad it was everything that we hoped it would be, the most perfect stay.Thank you

Wow what a find. We absolutely loved our two night stay at the gorgeous family run riad. Nora and Tom the owners are so hospitable and immediately make you feel so welcome and at home in their beautiful property.
We wanted to stay somewhere in a quiet neighbourhood with some nice outside space and that is exactly what we got.
Our room (305) was absolutely perfect for my daughter and I. Immaculately clean with a beautiful bathroom. Although very hot in Marrakesh during the day the evenings were chilly but our room was so cosy.
Nora was very available via whatsapp and nothing was ever too much trouble. I have stayed in some really beautiful hotels over the years but cannot remember the last time i was treated so kindly.
The gardens and pool at the hotel are beautiful and we treated ourselves to a massage at the spa which i would highly recommend.
The hotel is about a 25 minute walk to the main square which is a very pleasant, easy walk. Alternatively you can get a taxi from directly outside the hotel for around £4 and that takes about 10 minutes to get to the main square.
Thank you again Nora and Tom.

From the first minute we arrived at Les Borjs, we were made to feel very welcome. Nora greeted us warmly, and we were served with traditional mint tea and snacks in the patio area. This was stunningly decorated and had orange trees and a fountain.
Our suite was of a high standard, decorated in the traditional Moroccan style, and was very comfortable.
The food was of a very high quality and the service was excellent.
We didn't know what to expect from our first visit to Marrakech, but staying at Les Borjs made our visit a massive hit. We loved Marrakech and we consider it to be the friendliest place we have ever visited.
But the biggest plus was staying at this absolute gem of a hotel. All the staff were so friendly and courteous, nothing was too much trouble for them.
To sum up our stay, we have never been greeted so warmly and treated as well as we were from Nora, Tom and their colleagues.
We will definitely return, probably next year....and will be sure to bring a Haggis from Scotland for Tom as he enjoys it so much!

Les Borjs is an immaculately maintained riad within walking distance of the Jmaa el Fna and other Marrakesh attractions. Tom, the proprietor has included a full-sized pool area and a small bar as well as from the testimony of my traveling companions, wonderful spa services. The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. Located in the medina, it offers the visitor a feeling for daily life among the Marrekshi populace.

Les Borjs de la Kasbah provided a fantastic base for our four days of exploring Marrakech. Situated within a walkable distance (around 20 minutes) from the fast-beating heart of the old city (The Jemaa el-Fna Square), this hotel offered comfort, calmness and Moroccan hospitality in abundance. Welcome mint tea and traditional pastries after the journey was a lovely touch. Staff here are second to none, good-humoured, approachable, helpful … and the whole place - its layout, choice of materials, colours, design and greenery - simply radiates positive vibes. The owners, Tom and Nora, are often seen around and really lovely to talk to.
There is a restaurant as well as a bar there; breakfast was plentiful, fresh and scrumptious (traditional bakery goods, made-to-order omelettes, super tasty fruit). We also loved our dinners – excellent culinary treats in every way!
As we were busy exploring, we did not manage to squeeze in either the swimming pool or the hammam into our stay here, hopefully next time!
Thank you and wishing you all the best!

Yes, a very easy walk...probably even quicker than taking a taxi. I highly recommend getting the MapMe app on your phone and dropping a pin once at the hotel in order to navigate back. We did this and easily found our way around the city and safely back to the hotel time and time again.
