The Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech, garners consistent acclaim for its spotless environment and meticulous housekeeping. Guests rave about the sumptuous and expansive rooms, although a few report maintenance issues. The hotel's luxurious spa and villa pools, along with personalized services and diverse dining, are frequently praised. The atmosphere is often described as a captivating mix of elegance and local charm. Despite this, some travelers caution against the steep prices, suggesting the cost may not entirely align with the value. On a positive note this is an exquisitely designed hotel. On arrival you can’t fail to be impressed with the design, symmetry and scale of the hotel, suites and stunning landscaped grounds. We stayed in a suite and I must say it is the best room we have ever stayed in. The private terrace with pool was large with different seating arrangements around the pool to choose from. The large suite was spacious and airy, nothing overly fussy and the most comfortable bed we have slept in for a long time.

We didn’t visit the main pools as we saw no reason - why leave the suite!

The staff were very pleasant indeed and the breakfast wonderful.

On a negative note, we found both restaurants to be overpriced for what was served. The service seemed slow and unsure despite the numerous staff.

We also struggled a little with the communication aspect between us and the main hotel. The hotel encourages you to use WhatsApp to contact staff which is fine but takes a while to get used to. There is no hotel information in the room so you need to contact the hotel via WhatsApp or your butler to ask any questions so nothing is really at your finger tips.

Though the staff were lovely, it often felt like the left hand didn’t know what the right hand was doing. We never had 100% confidence in the service. We often had to ask twice for things ie. bill at the bar, coffee at breakfast, interim invoice. Unfortunately our bedroom TV didn’t work and I had to ask twice for someone to look at it - when they did come, they fixed it, only for the same problem to occur again. For the price you pay it would have been nice to have a TV that worked. My husband spent his 50th birthday here and I was asked twice before arriving (via email) if i would like a chocolate or red berry cake to celebrate the occasion. Both times I said we would love a chocolate cake. On the day, nothing appeared! There are a lot of staff here and sometimes they will surprise you with a thoughtful gesture but between times there seems to be a lack of direction with the staff often seeming somewhat adrift.

In summary this is a stunning hotel and they have got many things right, but I feel the team need to work a little harder on their communication and service. Maybe they have just made things a little too complicated.

A place of opulence, pure luxury and full of indulgence. The service from arrival was outstanding, Abdil (concierge) without hesitation would organise taxis, reserve restaurant bookings, giving his honest and the best recommendations.

The Villa’s are heavenly, private & yet still homely. With daily services to change towels, tidy up, replenishing toiletries & a turn down service to close curtains, turn on the aircon & light the candles in the lanterns at the end of your pool.
The photos can not portray the beautiful tranquility you feel whilst in your villa, the beautiful decor, flowers draping over the walls, fire place, steam room, large round bath, jacuzzi & long pool which you can look out over from your bedroom as your automatic blinds open whilst you’re in bed.

The pool garden has frankly the most exquisite menu, we ate there most days, working our way through the menu and could not fault a thing, so highly recommend most plates on this menu especially the lobster sandwich, sea bass & tomato salad.

Of an evening we have would visit the ‘tent’ to enjoy a cocktail and was always welcome with a friendly service and also their breakfast selection has a great variety of delicious options to enjoy daily.

The gym facilities are excellent also, with all equipment you would need, along with specials extras such as a fridge full of cold water & cold eucalyptus damp flannels.

If you were wishing to stay in this hotel, you could never be disappointed, if you didn’t wish to leave the hotel you could unwind and relax from your daily stresses, however I suggest you take the recommendations from the team at MO and they can recommend lively, bouji, fine dining places to visit which can give you the authenticity of Moroccan culture or just a fun evening out.

Stayed at MO Marrakech for 4 days and I enjoyed every minute of it. The welcome was heartily and warm. Everything had been taken care for. We just had to leave our luggage and enjoy a glass of champagne. We were welcomed by our butlers Amine and Ahmed. Great guys that do their exceptional best to make your stay memorable. I celebrated my birthday there and during our diner they decorated the room, arranged a birthday cake and arranged some gifts I really loved (MO signature gifts, as a fan of MO). The director of Rooms, Fiona, arranged three villas for us next to each other, and she was so well aware of my preferences. Everyone in the resort listens to what you say in order to surprise you the next day. The breakfast was amazing, lots of choice from Asian to Moroccan to European. The views over the waters of the resort are amazing. Drinking a cocktail in the “tent” was lovely (try the tobacco amber cocktail). Staff remembers what you prefer at breakfast or the kind of cocktail you had the day before. The concierge can be reached by whatsapp. Mehdi is a great guy who takes care that everything runs smoothly (arranging fast track at the airport, informing and advising on how late to leave to be on time at the airport, arranging a taxi to wherever you want, booking a restaurant in town, whatever you can think of). The villas are an oasis with their private pool, sunbeds, daybed, out door shower. The bathroom has a steambath and the rooms are clean (we saw the staff taking the carpets from the villa to clean them too). Everting is spotless and the housekeeping left us a bouquet of roses. As a loyal guest and fan of MO we were surprised with a big bottle of Veuve Cliquot Champagne in the room upon arrival. The poolboys are very helpful, bringing fresh lemonade and water and when beds were reserved by guests (quite an annoying habbit), they make one free for you. On our flight home we discussed what would make this Mandarin Oriental even better, but nothing popped up in our minds. Sincerely one of the very best Mandarin Oriental hotels we have visited so far. 10 out of 10!

There's something about the layout and symmetry of this magical resort that instantly begets a sense of calm. You can find peace here. You can also find an excellent party here, if that's what you're after. The choice is yours.

The architecture and style is 'modern Morocco' and with a pure, harmonious vibe. The villas, each set around a ridiculously stunning private pool, are faultless. The bathrooms are ginormous, the living areas are chic and cozy and the bedrooms and beds are divine. And that's just the indoors. The outside living areas are Insta-perfect and hard to beat. You could easily spend a decadent few days here without ever leaving your villa.

If you do decide to venture beyond room service (which can set up a traditional BBQ at your villa should you desire), the pool-side restaurant serves an excellent lunch, based on fresh produce and tasty yet light cuisine (not counting the brilliant burger). At night, LingLing is a favored Marrakech nightspot, famous for its DJ, cocktails and Asian cuisine.

The service is all Moroccan smiles and heartfelt hospitality, and the views of the Atlas in the distance are magical. Oh - and did I mention the spa? INCREDIBLE. Some of the best treatments I've ever had. And the gym is something else. Everything you need to work off the couscous, in a wonderfully zen environment.

LOVE.

A dream has come true at the Mandarin Oriental in Marrakech. As soon as you enter the beautiful lobby you feel like you are in a dream from 1001 nights.
The reception by the director and staff was very personal, we were impressed by how professionally our butler Redwan checked us in with champagne, and we were offered an upgrade to a 2 bedroom villa.
The subsequent drive to our villa took us through the colorful, very well-kept garden.
A big surprise awaited us, perfectly staged by our butler, a great cake and rose hearts everywhere in the villa for our wedding anniversary.
The villas all have a heated indoor pool and whirlpool, a fireplace room (very romantic), kitchen and extra lounge.
The floors are heated and a hammam is built into the bathroom.
The entire furnishings are of a very high standard and leave nothing to be desired.
The very friendly and competent staff in all areas deserve special mention.
Breakfast was excellent, very quiet thanks to menu ordering.
Brunch is also recommended, good selection and tasty.
We will definitely come back.

When we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded to a villa. When booking, I specified that we were taking this trip for my husband's birthday. The staff took great care, very smiling and pleasant, my husband was spoiled (cake for breakfast, cake in the evening and decorated villa). The place is magnificent, decorated with great taste in the style of the country, the gardens are absolutely beautiful, in short a very appreciated stay. We had a butler (Samad) who organized our days according to our wishes. He took care of all the reservations, made suggestions very adapted to our needs and I really appreciated this sensitivity!
The only downside would be the nearby airport because depending on the wind the planes pass very low above our heads. I also felt a relief to have been upgraded to a villa because if we had had the suite planned above the restaurants then the music, especially in the evening, would have been omnipresent and certainly I would have asked to be moved.

Fantastic luxury hotel in Marrakesh. We spent a completely relaxing 4 nights here in a pool villa. Wow, such an impressive villa! So many seating areas around the pool to relax. It was very private and you really felt like you were in a paradise of your own.

The private pool isn’t heated which does put you off getting in at times, but there is also a jacuzzi which is heated so we spent some time in there too.

We had a butler on hand who we could contact via WhatsApp for anything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble.

Housekeeping were fab and they even remembered when we told them we supported Liverpool & they put a special surprise out for us when we had won a match.

We couldn’t fault any of the food. We went to Ling Ling twice because we couldn’t get enough of the crispy duck.

The only downside is that the room and resort is so lovely, you don’t ever want to leave!!

Hi Ramadan does have its challenges for a Western traveller but it also has lots of charm. The weather will be perfect in May and most attractions will be business as usual. Alcohol is served at all hotels during Ramadan.

No they don’t but you can get a taxi or use hotel car which you have to pay for. We were there in Aug 2018. Taxi fares are reasonable.
