Very nice historic building. Some of the best value for money I have ever experienced. Something like USD 30 for a very nice room. Excellent lounge/dining area in the back. Steps to Medina and Kasbah and yet still peaceful. The breakfast is well worth it,...More
We liked everything about this hotel:friendly and helpful staff, beautiful interior, nice brekkie for 5e, comfy beds, hot shower, price and location just next to the exciting medina. Tangier is breathtaking, enjoy it and be happy ☺
A texas girl living in Spain and I gotta say this place is a great deal. Noel and the staff are very sweet and helpful. The breakfast is amazing and for 5 euros you really can't go wrong. I travel over once a month and...More
This neat small hotel is tuck nicely at the end of medina. It's location enable us to explore the medina which is rich in history. The rooms are rather small but clean. With so much to explore, you hardly need to stay in. Make sure...More
Staff are not particularly helpful. I was dismayed that when we asked our cab driver to speak with the desk clerk to enable the driver to drop us off at the hotel, the desk clerk did not really help or care about us getting there....More

The American clearly was looking for an up-market place. Plenty of those in Tangier. The Dar does not claim to be that. His main problem seems to have been the taxi driver not the hotel staff. Taxi drivers from the airport are out to make a buck, not to be helpful. They want extra to drop you away from the centre (Place de France). I was happy to walk but I did not have much luggage and I know old Tangier well. Best for most folks to pay the extra (just a couple of dollars) for trouble free arrival. The cafe next to the Dar can be a problem so tell the staff you want a room away from it. They were happy to move me when I complained. I maintain that this is a great place to stay and the staff are great.
