Rooms are stunning. Guest Relations lady - Suzan, goes out of her way to make you feel welcomed and enjoy your stay. Hotel easily accessible with friendly staff. Clean though being upgraded. Like the new Spa, the gym and the lobby.

I stay at the Serena on business with relative frequency and I can only that as the time has gone by the hotel has maintained the level of its wonderful service and staff. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with all the amenities. The air conditioners could stand a renewal as the air is not very cold and during the...

Visited the Serena for 3 nights while travelling through East Africa. Hotel is under going massive renovations but this did not compromise service (including dining). Spa was good value for money and it has an excellent fitness centre. Outdoor pool bar was a lovely place to sit in the evening with a good selection of decently priced cocktails. Room was...

Dear Sarah, We appreciate your review; we are approaching the end of our renovations which will result in a new All Day dining restaurant; the Serengeti, a newly revamped Seafood restaurant; Jahazi and a comfy new bar and terrace; the Kibo. I am confident the new additions will complete the hotel and enable us to provide excellent services and options...

In terms of service, I was impressed by the cleaning staff, but there was much room for improvement for the front-office staff. Firstly, I asked someone to help me get a taxi. The price was about 2-3x more expensive than if you were to negotiate with them outside the hotel walls. They should have reliable and reasonable taxi drivers on...

Friendly staff and spacious rooms but a slightly chaotic feel both to the physical layout of the hotel (not helped by the major upgradings that are still underway to the kitchens and restaurant) and to the service. Several members of the group I was with had to wait a long time for their rooms to be ready, even though we...

This hotel used to be the best in Dar -- a beautiful park like setting, but a physical infrastructure that desperately needs more than a cosmetic overhaul. The top floor is the Club floor and it was so hot -- and the air conditioning so pitiful, I left early and checked into the Kili (Hyatt)!

I wanted to give a 5star rating but remembered we received bad treatment from the receptionist Modester as soon as we stepped in the hotel. We even decided to look for another hotel. We spend a day at the pool in Serena Hotel without having a room in the hotel. Very clean and peaceful oasis in the crowded and busy Dar. Great service, great food, nice and relaxing. We felt really good and would come back.
