The family and I stayed for one night so that we could do a day safari into the Serengeti. The room was "very rustic" - well used foam mattresses on creaky wooden frames. The beds had mosquito nets, but with some holes. The bathroom was dark and slightly malodourous, but the loo did flush and the instant hot water heater...

We got a ensuite room for $65 although they asked for $80. Even so it way overpriced. They boast hot water showers and electricity which we really wanted after a week of bush camping in the Serengeti. Problem: the hot water only works with electrcity and the electricity was off for most of the day when we arrived. They have...

We stayed the night and had a national citizen with us. They charged him less than $15 for his room and we were quoted $32 US for ours. When we went to pay they charged us $32 each for the one room I shared with my spouse for a total of $64 US dollars. The room our national friend stayed...

This is a budget accommodation closely located to the Serengeti Ndabaka gate. Place is not well maintained. Even hot water system didn't work in our room. Not bad as a stop over to Serengeti National park.

This place looks from the road a bit poor as signposted by a beaten up sign which also displays an advert for Coka Cola but dont be put off by that it is worth the visit. Rooms are cheap and clean albeit somewhat basic but what you need is there, with hot water. The site itself isquite pleasant and you...

This hotel was clean, welcoming and situated close to the park entrance. The staff were friendly and very happy to help us with any special requests that we had. The rooms are functional, if not very exciting, but for the money they do exactly what you need. I could recommend this hotel to anyone.

I can really recommend to stay at this hostel. Really friendly staff, affordable rooms, good food! We also went on a one-day safari with them which was a fantastistic experience! You will get good value for the money you spend!

I had long planned to visit this place on the western edge of the Serengeti where you can also enjoy the facilities of lake Victoria. I was not disappointed. Situated on the tar road from Mwanza to Misumu and almost adjacent to the Ndabaka Gate of the Serengeti it is a convenient place to spend a few days. Accommodation is...

The place are a bit rundown but rooms are clean and food are really great. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and try to help where ever they can. A good place to stay when travelling to or from the Serengeti.

We camped at the Serengeti Stopover Lodge on June 10th. At $13 per person, the Stopover Lodge was a welcome respite from the exorbitant $30 per head price charged for camping inside the Tanzanian National Parks. The Stopover Lodge had hot water, clean grounds, and a restaurant, which is more value for your shilling than you get at the national...

“Care with some of the electrics in the room -- it might have been just mine (I was in the Rhino lodge) but I could here sparking when I plugged in my camera battery for re-charging so decided to turn it off rather than charge overnight -- with the lights out I could see teh socket sparking but worked OK -- was just being careful. Enjoy the rest and the birdlife”
