We had a wonderful time there. Simon (manager) and his team deserve a big hand. Facilities are perfectly clean, confortable, and secure. Completely sustainable: solar electricity an no plastic at all, not even for water.

Serengeti Pioneer Camp is amazing! The tents were beautiful, spacious, and comfortable, and there was enough space between tents to make us feel we were in a private paradise. The food was spectacular and they provided wonderful vegetarian options per my request. Dining under the...More
This place is incredible.
We stayed at 3 national park tented camps in Tanzania, and a hotel at the Ngorongoro crater. Pioneer camp clearly distinguished itself from the others. The service we received from all the staff, for us especially Raymond, was always polished friendly...More
Three nights at Pioneer camp for a family of four gave us an experience of being in the wild with an efficient, safe and comfortable base. The staff were charming and graceful, especially thanks to Saji and all the team. Manager Simon was a great...More
This lodge is very well located in a hilly part of the central Serengeti, Seronera, region. Surroundings are beautiful, with (at the rainy season) lush prairies and forests. Proximity with wildlife is breathtaking with wild animals (monkeys, big cats, antelopes, buffalos...) visiting the site and...More

Hello from Elewana.
Thank you for your email. january is not the best time to come and see the Migration as it is really only travelling through the Serengeti between early June and late August. I would very much like to share a link with you via our website but Trip Advisor does not allow us to do this, for some strange reason. However if you go to our site at Serengeti Migration Camp or Serengeti Pioneer Camp, you will see a link for the Migration route and times of the year. Check this out so that you can see the Migration path.
If you are coming in January, there is so much to see at Tarangire, Ngorongoro and still in the Serengeti. It is one of my favourite times of the year as it is quieter, not as hot and a little quieter in terms of tourism, especially towards the end of the month. Should you wish to contact me (Jason Barry) please go to our contacts page on the elewana Collection website and seek me out. Then we can communicate directly.
