WOW!!! What a lovely experience from the moment we arrived. Our guide Lovoi was exceptional and would highly recommend him. The property is stunning!! The "tent" was bigger than my first house!! Walking back before sunset and having zebras cross our path to graze.... it was surreal. The food was wonderful and drinks brought to our tent for sundown was perfect! Would highly recommend staying here if you have the chance.

We spent three nights at Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp in September of 2019. The accomodations were fabulous with a deck on our "tent" that looked out towards the Grumeti River. We went to sleep and woke up with the sound of hippos sharing the evening or morning news with each other. Each tent, which is a canvas top over wood flloor with a fulll bathroom, twin sinks, and a sumptuous shower was perfect for us. The food served at Migration Camp was spectacular with a range of excellent choices for dinner, wonderfull options for breakfast, and a buffet with special entrees for lunch. All served in a beautiful dining area that looked out towards the river where we could watch hippos, zebra, other animals that came to drink. The dining experience was enllived by the delightful rock hyraxes that occasionally sat at the entrance to the dining hall. There is a lovely swimming pool that was extremely refreshing on hot afternoons. Plus a fabulous deck with fire pit overlooking the river. The entire staff was friendly and gracious and our server, Rashid, was just fabulous. The highllight of our time at Migration Camp was the exceptional game drivers with our truly excellent guide, David. We saw a phenomenal range of animals, including a pride of seven lionesses, 21 cubs, and a very sleepy male lion. We saw everry kind of grazing animal imaginable as well as an exquisite range of birds including tawny eagles and brown snake eagles. With his exceptional knowledge of animals and incredibly sharp eyes, David was able to show us a male cheetah, and a mother leopard with a young cub. Plus a spectacullar trip to the Mara River to see the great migration. Serengeti Migration Camp is a fabulous property, well managed, with exceptional food and a delightfull staff in a truly magical setting. What a perfecr place!

We stayed at 4 Elewana properties on our trip. This is a lovely luxury camp and you feel like you are right there in the heart of the Serengeti. The tents are more like a little cabin with tent walls and I requested a room down by the river as I read a review saying that was where you got great views of the hippos. What the review didn't tell me is that this meant you were furtherest away from the main lodge and I was actually a little uneasy being escorted to our tent as there were buffalos and hippos in/around the camp. Everyone assured me we were perfectly safe, but I still felt a little uneasy (scaredy cat I guess). The hippos were sometimes noisy at night but that was sort of fun and didn't stop us sleeping. We saw heaps of game there on our 3 days of safaris with Joseph and Abdul, two very lovely and knowledgable and funny blokes. The staff at the property were nice, but it did feel a bit forced like everyone was trying too hard - I felt it was overkill to have 15 staff waiting to greet us on arrival, but maybe some people like that? Even though I liked it I think I would have preferred to be closer to the Mara River and the crossings, but then again it was great not to see lots of other vehicles around on our game drives. We saw so many adorable lion cubs too! My husband would have liked there to be a door on the toilet in our room!

Elewana operates this hotel plus the Tarangire Treetops. We recentley stayed at both. Each is entirely unique and designed to put you right in amongst the wildlife. You need a security person to take you to your lodging after dark; no exceptions. With elephants; cape buffalo, and hippos wandering around, not to mention the possibulity of lions, I did not argue. No TV or phones in the room..who needs them? A walkie talkie connects you to reception. Going to sleep to the sound of hippos grunting or zebras calling is amazing. The roads into each property is not paved and is extremely rugged. Our 4 wheel drive safari Land Cruiser took them in stride. The most amazing thing for both was the quality of service and the food...excellent with the views spectacular.

Thank you so much for your amazing review, we truly appreciate you taking the time to write such wonderful things. All of Elewana properties are at the prime position to experience, feel and be a part of nature and we are so glad that you appreciate this. Over the past few days we have experienced some numbers of baby Hippos from the river which is such a joy to watch, one I hope you can come back and see! We look forward to giving you a very warm welcome back to Elewana on your return trip to Africa. Best Regards from Simon & The Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp Team

We just came back from our Elewana safari and are still pinching ourselves. All of the properties we stayed at were unique and different and all exceeded our expectations. Physically though, I think Migration Camp was my favourite. It is a stunning property. It is set up on a hill overlooking a river full of hippos. At night, they light lanterns all over the property and it looks like a fairy land. Right out of a magazine, but we got to live it! One night, we were privileged to have a private dinner on a raised platform overlooking the sunset with lanterns and candles everywhere. Another night, we had a "dinner under the stars" down by the river with lanterns in a tree overhead. It was all just beautiful. Our "tent" did have canvas walls, but that is where the tent analogy ended. Inside, it was a huge, well decorated room with hardwood floors and chandelier. The view from our room (room 10) was spectacular. We were the last room in the row so had the benefit of unobstructed views both in front and on the side. One day a small herd of elephants came tumbling down the hill right beside us! At other times there were zebra, hippos and buffalo all within arms reach (but below the raised platform of the tent so no safety threat). We kept sending videos home of the wildlife that were just beside us as we couldn't believe we were living this. The food and service were both excellent as well. The manager and staff could not have been more friendly and ensured that everything was exactly as we wanted it. The bush breakfasts and lunches that we had were our favourite. In the middle of nowhere, our guide (Alex) would set up a lovely picnic table with bright orange table cloth and we ate like kings in the middle of the Serengeti. Unbelievable and we loved every minute of it. We can't recommend this camp more highly and look forward to returning some day.

Yes, the pool is safe. It is close to the reception area and lounge, and up several steps from the main paths to the tented suites. There were hippos and zebra near a stream in front of the tents but sufficiently removed from the pool area. You might see meerkats scurrying around the area though.

Thank you for your message. Given the many factors to consider, you could wear multiple layers or bring a warmer jacket. This will depend on whether you get quite cold generally and if you have the luggage space. We look forward to seeing you soon! Elewana Collection.

Thank you for your message! All rooms at Serengeti Migration Camp have 24hr power for lighting and charging, however, we do advice that you bring converters and universal adaptors as the camp uses UK square three-pin plugs. Serengeti Migration Camp has en suite shower rooms with a flushing toilet, normal shower, and a double basin vanity. Hope this helps and we look forward to hosting you. Best wishes The Elewana Collection.
