This is a very basic campsite that provides only the bare essentials; a place to put up your tent, cold water showers with low water pressure, some basic toilets with no soap and only toilet paper leftover from other guests. So do bring your own and don’t expect much!
I was actually pleasantly surprised to discover that there was some WiFi, PLENTY of charging stations inside lockers in the dining area, and even a corner where you could buy some basic supplies (like toilet paper, Pringles and sanitary pads).
The quality of your stay and sleep will mainly depend on the quality of the equipment of the company you’re travelling with.
The only negative thing I have to say of the campsite in itself is the dirty toilets, which was mainly due to the lack of possibility of flushing and probably inexperience in using “hole in the floor” toilets by the guests, which led to some, let’s say “unfortunate” situations!
Other than that, waking up to that sunrise in the middle of Serengeti made it magical.

We stayed in Nyani, within the Seronera camping area. The camping had all the facilities required: a kitchen area where the chefs prepared the meals, a shared dining room with plugs, toilets with (cold) showers and grass for the tents. We WiFi signal was great.
We enjoyed the thrill of listening to the animals that could be heard at night. Some buffalo even made an appearance next to the toilets one morning. All of this added to the thrill while never making us feel unsafe. On top of it, the camping was brilliantly located very close to the game drive areas.
Would recommend to budget travellers seeking adventure.
Tip: don't drink too much before going to bed, we were advised not to leave our tents during the night in case animals were roaming around, so no toilets visits at night.

What I came to know that government provides the land with minor facilities for camping. Rest to be done by travelers and agencies. A scary night in there, many hyenas were very close. Hard to reach the washroom. Our travel agency provided the tents and we helped in making them. Our chefs prepared our food. Facilities as I said is inappropriate. Being in Serengeti National Park means you expect better than this. Budget accommodation is not really budget in Tanzania. We paid a lot. Uncomfortable stay.

Stayed one night at the Seronera Camp at Nyani. Basic facilities for budget travelers. The kitchen and dining areas could use a little maintenance. The toilets were fine. I didn't take a shower. The best part of camping here was the sounds of the night. Hearing hyenas and lions all night was exciting. Use caution if you need to use the toilets at night. I enjoyed my night at this camp.

The hyginic standards of the sanitary facilities are very poor. They are cleaned once a day, but the toilet flushes hardly ever worked. Due to bad maintenance of the whole site, one doesn't feel comfortable, neither in the "dining hall" (which is a hall without any atmosphere or cosiness) Furthermore, there are hardly any garbage bins. The only positive: It's directly inside the park and a good startpoint for game drives.

The Seronera Camping Ground is a public campground, the amenities block was disgusting and had been vandalised and was dirty. There was very little water for a shower and having a hot shower was just a dream. The urinals stunk of stale urine and toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in days. The doors on the shower needed some maintenance and there was nowhere to hang your clothes while taking a cold shower. The amenities block at the Ngorongoro Crater were clean and had warm showers; so it can be done. Unfortunately, we were on a budget tour and had to endure two nights here.

At least there is a paved and lighted walkway to the bathroom! Quite a big campsite, and pretty fun to camp here as you can hear many animals making noises all night long though we didn't see any. Temperature is alright at night in June. No hot shower so shower early ;p

Entered Serengeti national park from the western gate and drove all the way to the central serengeti . The camp was good and the staff were friendly , since it was low season the camp wasn’t over crowded . I enjoyed my camp tent and the dinner I ordered it separately . Great value for money in the middle of the park . Thank you .

Here we enjoyed a wonderful sunset and evening. The sky in the night was amazing. You hear Lions roar from distance. Giraffes were around to see. This is a wonderful site, but the facilities especially the washrooms needed some repair, hooks and electric light. A camping trip into the heart of Serengeti is a wonderful experience. We would do it again everytime.

I loved this campsite! It is basically an area in the middle of the plain but has washrooms and a cooking hut(which we didn't use). It was clean and tidy and the attendant came round to check our permit so it was being maintained. There was another group there from Geo Tours and they seemed to have made it their base. It was a great base from which to go on safari for a few days. The views were beautiful and the balloon soaring overhead in the morning lovely! The public campsites are all in a similar area but we didn't really look at the others as this one was great!

Toilets similar to any public campsite. They have lighting. Keep in mind that it is in the middle of a wildlife park, and there is no fencing, so animals wandering through the campsite may scare the hell out of you.
"One has to be tough on bad hygenic standards and not be disappointed if there is no appropriate place to relax.
If one pays such a high entry fee, one would expect more. "
There are more places to choose from in the Serengeti National Park area.
