This was my first trip to Africa thus Zimbabwe as well. The accommodations were very nice, although the mosquitoes were quite a nuisance. We were given additional cans of repellant from the front desk. The staff was excellent, the restaurant was amazing and the BOMA dinner experience was very unique.

Very quiet. Beautiful view on the Bush and a water hole. Good New year's eve dinner, never had warthog before and it was excellent. Breakfast bag was excellent as well. Breakfast buffet. The only negative is the staff at dinner: almost kicked us out at 10pm on New year's eve to prepare restaurant for breakfast. We were sent to the...

After a 2 hour wait in the immigration queue at Victoria Falls Airport to get into Zimbabwe, our room and the bar, both of which overlook the forest and watering hole made our overnight stay quite enjoyable. Watching a herd of Cape Buffalo from the bar was a highlight .

My family, 3 generations/10 people spent 10 days in Africa on safaris in Botswana and Zimbabwe. We spent 2 days in Victoria Falls between the safaris. The staff at the Safari lodge as very friendly and attentive. The in house restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was inconsistent ranging from very good, shrimp tempura, Impala and trout to...

What a wonder place, just beautiful. The view off my balcony onto the savanna each morning was unbelievable. Sell the farm and go, it was truly a trip of a life time for me. Wish I would have done it earlier

Beautiful place and people. Well worth the money. The outlook over the water hole is brilliant and the location from the city centre is irrelevant. Could sit and watch the vultures circling for hours. Would like to think I'll get back there one day.

We just spent five nights here and enjoyed our stay here. From check in to check out, everything flows nicely. The porters, check in / reception , housekeeping, shuttle bus driver , waiters/waitresses- they are there to make your life easy. Of course there are exceptions - the activities desk lady was not our favorite person - been to see...

The view from our room was outstanding! The staff were lovely and helpful and it was a really relaxing place to stay. There is a complementary shuttle that takes you to and from the hotel to the Boma Meal which was great.

Spent 4 nights here with the family over new year. The hotel is well laid out and the rooms are well equipped and very comfortable. Breakfast is good , even if the coffee could be a bit hotter. There are 2 swimming pools and a great view. But it's the staff that make this hotel. They are all friendly ,...

We spent Christmas here. The staff was great and the property very festive for the holiday which was nice. The food was good too. However, it was an uncomfortable couple of days because the dining room is open air and we got attacked by mosquitos despite using massive amounts of bug spray and wearing bracelets that were supposed to keep...

We are so sorry that the mosquito issue we are facing impacted your holiday to such an extent. It is hugely frustrating for us. You will be happy to know that we are doubling our fogging (environmentally friendly) efforts in an attempt to eradicate them. The whole town is struggling this season so joint efforts with the Town Council have...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Voted the best Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe for 18 years running, the world-famous Victoria Falls Safari Lodge offers easy access to the iconic Victoria Falls, coupled with a wildlife experience that is truly unrivalled. Now in its 20th year of welcoming guests, the Lodge is built on a plateau overlooking the Zambezi National Park with endless unspoilt views to the horizon, just four kilometers from the Falls. This is the only sunset facing hotel in Victoria Falls, and the newly-renovated rooms and balconies are built up above a central waterhole which attracts herds of buffalo, elephant, giraffe, zebra, as well as night-time predators, such as lion and leopard. Our warm and personable staff are our greatest pride. Past guests frequently comment on our team's sublime hospitality and seamless delivery. The main areas of the lodge, such as the MaKuwa-Kuwa restaurant and the homely Buffalo Bar, are rich in ambience and also overlook the central waterhole, where drinks and dinners are often shared with wildlife meandering down to the water each day to quench their thirst. ... more   less
