I first frequented the TROPICO in the dark days of the 1990's. In the early 2000's I spent some 80+ days per year in there and despite the competition around the corner they maintained a strong position in the Luanda scene of business hotels. Just past week I was positively surprised of the neat renovation and the avantgarde interiour of...

Since the refit this is a much improved hotel. As part of the same group TD hotel's the Tropico is now as good as the Baia. The room was very comfortable, the only issue I have and this is the same for most hotels in Luanda is that the restaurant food is served lukewarm. For me this is a major...

Business hotel in Luanda. Rooms are average/good in size. Furniture and carpets are old and tend to smell. Not quiet and it's frequent to hear noise. For local standards, breakfast is good. It was recently refurbished and I haven't been there since. Prices are sky high (like almost everything in Luanda).

Im here for work so the ludicrous prices are not an issue, surely can't be any reason you would want to come to Luanda? Close to Sonils Base (oil/gas stuff) & the airport, although traffic delays are a common issue. The Hotel recently had a full refurb and it looks decent, there are some minor dodgy finishing details for those...

Stayed over three nights - close enough to the airport. Rooms were clean and wifi was decent. Staff are generally polite but be sure to have a small cash allowance for nic-naks as reception only takes card payments for lodging.

In short the Hotel is very clean and spacious with friendly and helpful staff. Key tips, make sure the taxi driver knows you are only paying $USD50 for you transport from the airport. Be aware that the hotel only accepts Visa and Mastercard. The hotel was not able to supply me with a compatible power adaptor so don't forget your...

The room are average in size compare with Europe or Asia hotels 3-4 stars. The bathroom is clean and spacious, the have a Wi-Fi internet with a good connection. The facilities are good i.e....

I read earlier reviews on TripAdvisor, before travelling to Luanda in July 2014. I have to say, that these reviews made me extremely apprehensive as to what i was going to find, so the reality of Hotel Tropico came as a very pleasant surprise! The room I stayed in (702 - sea facing) was functional and clean, with a small...

By now I have stayed in most of the Hotels in Luanda and I must say that this one is probably the best when it comes to overall quality (always considering where you at and therefor don't compare Angola with Europe (yet)). Rooms are very clean yet standard hotel rooms with a little bit too big TV screens (60" is...

I spent one night in this great hotel located in Luanda downtown. It is relatively close to the international airport (~20min without traffic, but knowing Luanda traffic reserve at least 1h) and it is very convenient. The staff is cordial and efficient. The breakfast is complete and has several fresh options. The hotel is not cheap and follows Luandas' price...
