When we arrived in Ethiopia we stayed at this family-owned family-run hotel, Addis Guest House, which we heard of through a friend who also stayed there. Centrally located, 10 minutes from airport, safe, very clean, very friendly and helpful staff. They helped us arrange for transportation to Rift Valley lakes. Be sure to try the lamb dish, "tips," in the...

The Addis Guest House is centrally located with spacious, clean suites, wonderfully attentive staff and the most delicious coffee you'll have anywhere in the country. Extensive breakfast choices are free, along with airport pick-up and drop-off. The owner's son (Jonas) spent 16 years in the US and is very helpful in providing guidance. The staff went out of their way...

My wife and I would highly recommend Addis Guest House for anyone traveling to Ethiopia. Especially anyone who is adopting. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable and memorable. We couldn't have asked for anything more from them. The rooms were very clean, and the location was great for us. Anything you could...

We stayed here when we traveled to pick up our daughter for adoption. The staff was incredible going out of their way to accommodate our needs and those of the children. We were with four other families and all of us would return again in a heartbeat. Everyone from the proprietor to the cleaning staff went above and beyond. We...

The guest house is located slightly north of the St. George Church. Our room was clean and in excellent condition (the bed was so comfy). The bathroom was immaculate and the shower had hot water and great pressure! The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The manager, Meserat, helped us arrange transportation into rural Ethiopia and hotels for the next...

Although of Ethiopian origin both myself and my cousin has spent most of our life abroad and didn't know what to expect from the country or the place we were staying. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the hotel manager who much like us also spent most of life in America which was very comforting. The manager...

The Addis Guest House is on Bole Medhanealem, just down the road from St Gabriel's hospital. The location is excellent - near Haya Hulett and just a short drive from Bole Road. We stayed with extended family in 3 rooms for 4 nights. We got a good deal from the hotel manager, who spoke excellent English - 350 Birr for...

“suites on front quieter in spite of being on main street, rooms on back can have sounds from kitchen staff etc till closing at 10:30pm”

“We stayed in rooms 302 and 201 ( suites) you have street view access. Its great for people watching. It does get a little noisy but not too bad. I would recommend bringing a power chord bar with your converter to have multiple plug in outlet options. We were there to finalize our adoption and it was very budget sensitive and convenient for us. The suites allowed enough room for our child to play. The water pressure in the showers isn't like the states but it does the job. The rooms have their own refrigerators and t.v. My wife and I preferred room 201 vs 302 but both were nice. Their pick up service to and from the airport was also convenient. They also provide laundry service if you don't want to overpack.”

“Rooms on the front side face the street in front, which stays pretty busy. Rooms are therefore more quiet in the back.”
