We did not stay here. We have visited the place for a stop over while driving to Otanto hills. he Yaya Village is owned by the famous marathon runner Haile Gebreselassie. We were a little surprised to return to Yaya and find construction work in progress, however it soon became clear that the guests were the priority and there was no inconvenience at all. The gardens were looking better than ever and we can hardly wait for the track and pool to be finished. It is a very good sign to... More

If you are a runner this is the place to go! At roughly 2700 mts (or 8,850ft) above sea level you will get the workout you need for your next marathon. Stay there or visit from Addis in about 40min drive. Food is basic but very decent, coffee is excellent like anywhere in Ethiopia and staff are nice and helpful,... More

Very good place for horse riding for children and having a quiet weekend with the family. There is a big football field and volleyball field also. You can walk around the football field with tools for exercising.

We returned to Yaya after over a year and found some amazing changes: the gardens are really beautiful and the quality of the meals and restaurant service have improved a lot. This is a great place for athletes but also for anyone wanting a tranquil setting for dinner to escape the city or unwind before going home. As before the... More

We had a special event in January 2015. We had a great experience from the venue to the staff who worked hard to make the event special. It being close to Addis Ababa and yet far enough made our stay more enjoyable. The venue caters for young children really well with designated playground. We can only comment on the traditional... We were delighted to find this retreat so close to Addis, where we could get away with a group of family and friends for a weekend. The location is very accessible and the rooms are modern, comfortable and attractively furnished. We loved being able to dine and sit outside at tables with thatched roofs, while the children played on the... More
