I write this in the context of Ethiopia but... First impressions were OK, spacious downstairs area and quite quick check-in. However the bedroom was pretty terrible - dirty (I had to wear flip flops everywhere), wires hanging in places, shower in bath didn't work but there was hot water in the basin tap. Service was non-existent in bar and restaurant...

Man, we had so much fun at the restaurant, where we had a fasting plate with injera, a bottle of Ethiopian red wine (yum!!) and watched traditional singing and dancing all night...it was amazing. They even got us up dancing. So much fun! Then, we headed to the African Jazz Village (right outside and downstairs)...so worth it. Another bunch of...

Location is good: close to the Bole Airport and the city centre. However it is old and very much part of the old Ethiopia when government owned hotels and investment was limited. It is waiting for an investor who will spend money on the place and make it into something special. One good thing are the extensive grounds which are...

We used this hotel as a base for visiting Addis. You could describe the style as Communist chic - it's not exactly luxury but it is clean and comfortable in the slightly more expensive "farenji" rooms. The ones in the main block are quite questionable for the price. The breakfast is an excellent buffet and the restaurant is pretty good...

Quite old hotel. There is TV in room but it is also old-fashioned. I don't think there is mini-fridge equipped (If my memory is correct) Said that, it is quite OK considering you are in Ethiopia, there is hot water running in bathroom, it might take some time before you finally have hot water but it is hot water shower....

We weren't expecting great things but this hotel really is poor. Grounds are lovely but we had little time to enjoy them. We opted for 'bungalow' rooms which were shabby, though a decent size. The toilet seat was broken, the hairdryer didn't work and the shower flooded the bathroom floor. Breakfast was unimpressive. Needs a major investment to refurbish the...

Grimy, dusty hotel - the first room we were given; the bath hadn't been cleaned and there were hairs all over it, there was scum in the basin, the cistern on the toilet was broken and the flush mechanism didn't work. Our room was changed but it wasn't much better - electric wires hanging out of a hole in the...

The rooms at this hotel are comfortable, not as plush as rooms in Europe but for the region are good. Plenty of porters to move your luggage. The main reception area & bar are well laid out, with a lovely terrace. I did not have time to go to the pool area, so cannot comment. The resturant has two areas...

We had a large corner room on the 3rd floor which was very quiet and with a nice balcony. Bed was comfortable but the shower water only lukewarm. When you go out of the room, there are always people hanging around the stairs - not sure if they were staff, maintenance or whatever. They were pleasant enough though. We had...

Just a one night stay after arriving on a night flight to Addis Ababa. Check in was fine and the lobby area is pleasant enough with a nice seating area to get a nice snack. The lobby wifi was notably hit and miss and bordering on unusable at times. The room given was tatty and tired. The wash basin was...
