We stayed in one of the larger outdoor rooms, not in the main lodge. It had its own living room, kitchen, bath and bedroom. We were able to host visitor and talk before going over to the main lodge to eat dinner. The food is consistent and good. Breakfasts, for us, were included in the price of the room. The...

Note that even though this hotel comes up under "Lilongwe" on the Trip Advisor search, it's actually in Dedza. (tripadvisor administrators ... if you actually read these reviews, can you rectify ...?) I have always stayed at the Pottery Lodge on my trips to Dedza. This time they were full, so I ended up at the Mapira Country Golf Lodge....

We (a family of 4) stayed there for 1 night while we were visiting family in Dedza. No smile can be found on any staff. The manager (Ivy) was very unprofessional and rude. She asked for extra MK2000 because we have a kid 5 years old. She said that extra MK2000 was for breakfast the next day. She declined to...

This hotel has comfortable spacious rooms, with the 'four-poster- type of mosquito nets. The rooms are kept very clean and the showers are good. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. The only problem I have with it is that the food is a bit hit-and-miss. I think they sometimes reheat food. If they don't, it tastes like it. Breakfasts...

Stayed in Dedza while I was there for a medical Mission for 10 days. The rooms were comfortable. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The food takes forever in the restaurant so order then go take a shower it will be ready about 45 minutes after you return. The dining / bar area is nice. The wi - fi...

Comfortable rooms with working space. Very effective mosquito nets - the four poster kind. Very welcome tea making facilities in rooms. Plenty of hot water. Internet is intermittent, unfortunately. Cooked breakfasts are enormous and include chips as well as sausage and beans. Evenings meals are all right but not exciting. Pleasant dining and bar area. Views are lovely.

After working in Malawi for the past 20 years, a friend Scott Gordon recommended Mapiri Lodge. Don't mistake the way it is listed in the address. It is not in Lilongwe. It is about 30 miles south of Lilongwe in the Dedza Trading Center. It has great rooms, great meals and great service. Thanks Scott, for the recommendation, and now...

Let's face it, Dedza, Malawi is the middle of no where. However, it's a nice place to visit or do short time work for those of us who don't live in Malawi. I stayed there one night and ate there 15 nights. The hotel is probably the most modern in the area and the room was comfortable and clean. It...

We stayed here on business as part of a group needing 5 rooms. First, room location is important. Our party was originally offered room 1, which is right next door to the bar and kitchen. They moved to one of the outer buildings. The rooms themselves are functional and faded. They do provide good tea and coffee making, which was...
