Good location to start your trip through Namibia and seeing Windhoek. Friendly staff (although they were not there anymore when we arrived in the evening), good breakfast. There was a very noisy and annoying fan in the room, which could not switched off due to the temperature. Nice garden. The guesthouse is a bit outdated. More suitable for young people...

Many thanks for your review, we appreciate you taking the time to post it. I have asked our manager to find out which room you were in and check the fan so that we can fix or replace it. I assume you must have arrived after 10pm as our managers are on duty from 07h00 until 22h00, but hopefully our...

A great place to stay. Peaceful and well maintained, efficient and comfortable. Nice pool to relax around, clean kitchen for self-catering. They can take care of most of your needs and deal with most concerns. There is not much in the way of restaurants or shops in the immediate vicinity, so you do have to think ahead. The area felt...

We stayed one night in Rivendell during our trip to Namibia. The rooms were comfortable and clean and they provide a very nice breakfast. The biggest recommending point is their superb staff. I was very impressed by their knowledge and willingness to help. We needed to make a booking for an additional night in Windhoek and when Rivendell could not...

This is a fantastic guesthouse. Don't be scared off by the 'backpacker' comments, as this guesthouse really caters to a wide range of guests! Staff- the manager is so friendly and helpful, we really felt the staff went out of their way Value -you receive more than you pay with the room and guesthouse Breakfast - a bit pricey, but...

We stayed at Rivendell Guest House, Windhoek on the first night of our self-drive adventure to Namibia. We received a lovely welcome from the staff and enjoyed a drink and a swim in the substantial pool while waiting for our hire car to be delivered. Our room, Bagend, was basic but relatively comfortable, with a sweet garden at the front...

Hate to give even an average rating... But it was a little pricey and surprising to have only one shared bathroom, which was a fair distance from the nice pool area. The bathroom was very clean and modern, but only serves one at a time, although the bathroom and shower are separated. May have been totally different experience if an...

Many thanks for taking the time to write your review, and point taken regarding the shared bathroom facilities. It sounds as though you were in Room number 2 which is the only one with shared facilities outside the main house (4 rooms + 1 single guide room share that bathroom). We do only sell that room when everything else is...

This time I arrived the guest house quite late and didn't stay for a long time, but I definitely wanted to stay again next time. The room was nicely decorated and cozy. The bedroom was spacious and bathroom as well. The shower and bathtub were separate and pressure of the water was also fair. It also has a shared kitchen...

Spent two night (separated by a 3 day Safari) here. Initially my partner and I had Room 7, downstairs off the carpark. This room is ok, actually has its own kitchen area and Air Conditioning. Sleep was ok, bed was creaky, so we kept waking each other .... Second of our one night experiences we were in Room 3. Oh...

Many thanks for posting your review, it's really useful for us to be able to hear about things which were not as they should have been so that we can sort them out ASAP. Just to confirm, the room you stayed in at first was the Flat (unfortunately we don't have a more imaginative name for it; Room 7 is...

The place is lovely and charming, in a very convenient and safe location. My room was large, full of light, with the right colonial flavour. The staff was just great: I lost my watch, they found and returned it to me even if I had already left.

Very helpful reception staff, booked us a restaurant and (expensive) taxi. The room was a bit tired and it's actually a backpacker's hostel but it's perfectly fine for a night or two whether you're just arriving in or about to leave Windhoek.

Many thanks for your review, we are checking to see if we can determine which room you stayed in so that we can see what we can do to improve and upgrade it. Maintenance is always an ongoing project with guest houses, and we have been so busy this peak season that it's sometimes difficult to block time off for...
