The hotel is very well locate, with all the facilities that you think about, internet, Gym, sauna, and the staff are the best, hot water and the rooms are always clean, they do have a laundry service, I loved it I am just fussy with food the only food I loved was breakfast in the morning, you do get kettle in your room for tea,
There is also swimming pool, and facilities for business meetings,
You will love your stay at Schena Hotel.

Located in a cool place with a cosy ambience for relaxation. Neat rooms with a good swiming pool as well as free wifi. Polite staff with good understanding of english language. They have a shuttle bus and the hotel is about 30 minutes drive from the airport.

This hotel is quite new and so its infrastructure was is functionally intact and very well tailored to the business visitor in-terms both facilities and proximity to the CBD. It is not a massive establishment and so this allowed for a very personalized service...My 5 day stay was quite comfortable.
The key people for me were Regis the manager, the restaurant staff Winny, and the porters Fabrice and Fiacre who were very useful in the small day-to-day logistics regarding my stay and upkeep.
Definitely worth a try because the cost to quality ratio was just perfect...not to mention the night view of the entire city, amazing.

I made a reservation at this hotel for 4 nights through one of the third-party reservation websites for myself and a friend traveling together in Rwanda.
Upon arrival at the hotel at approximately 9 pm, we had our luggage and belongings x-rayed before being able to walk up to the check-in counter. I had a full bottle of banana beer I had purchased earlier which the security guard initially refused to let me bring in, until another staff member stepped in and convinced him to allow in.
We walked up to the check-in counter and mentioned we had a reservation. The woman at the desk said they had cancelled their contract with the third-party website and were not honoring reservations made through that site. The reason she gave was because the rates published on the site ($83 per night) were too low for them to make a profit. She then proceeded to mention that she had rooms available and could book us for $130 a night. To add insult to injury, she told us that we would have to contact the third-party website ourselves to get a refund for the reservation we had already paid through them.
We begrudgingly paid for one night at Scheba since it was already getting close to 10 pm and we didn’t know if we could find other accommodations on such short notice. We then spent the next two hours on a call with the third-party website trying to get a refund on the original reservation.
Our room was old and outdated. The windows and balcony door did not fully seal, allowing sounds and insects to come in. There was a very loud band playing on the hotel pool deck below until 11 at night, making sleep impossible. The pillows had stains on them.
The included breakfast was horrible, with just a few fruit, bread, and cheese options and some unappetizing egg and meat choices. When I saw a cockroach crawl across the food plates, I had enough. I went up to the room, packed my things, and checked out for a better hotel down the street.
These people are running a bait-and-switch scam by accepting reservations and then not honoring them and forcing a higher rate upon you at check-in. Do yourself a favor and run away!

I booked a room for two nights 13 - 15 November 2018. On the day of arrival the hotel emailed to cancel the reservation having previously confirmed it. At the time I was in the air flying to kigali. This is abysmal customer service, hugely unprofessional and potentially dangerous if customers are stranded without notice. I strongly recommend that you have nothing to do with a hotel that treats customers so poorly.

Eight of us checked in for one night at the end of a long trip.
What can I say, it could have been so good but failed in many systemic ways. The hotel is new and well presented, the staff are attentive and eager to please, the towels etc top class but the basics failed at almost every turn.
Specifically:
There are 3 clocks in reception but one wasn’t working. It’s not hard to change a battery.
The hotel was probably 20% occupied and yet I was assigned a room on a low floor close to the lift. The views were less good than they could have been and I was woken in the night by the lift doors pinging each time they opened.
There was no hot water in the lovely bathroom. For some inexplicable reason the water had to be switched on by room and yet this was not done when I checked in. Another member of my party had no hot water at all.
The staff were keen to tell me about breakfast which I could not attend, as I had to leave at 5.30am, but neglected to tell me where the AC controller was and it was too hot in the room overnight.
We spent some time by the pool. The ordered drinks and food took too long to arrive. We began to think that the gin had to be distilled. The menu was not extensive and yet some items (meat samosas) were not available.
My friend and I chose to eat dinner at the hotel. We were drinking G&T and after one round the tonic ran out. We were offered Sprite instead of tonic. Could have been worse but hardly a good experience.
We went to pay the bill and that was another exercise in surrealism. All charges were shown in RWF in the menus etc but the check out bill was in USD w no exchange rate shown. We wanted to pay in cash but the hotel had no small USD notes for change so I ended up paying 1USD more than the bill. Not a fortune but not what one expects from a quality hotel.
As we had to check out early to make our flight, we had arranged for ‘breakfasts to go’. There were 8 in our group and rather than the expected 8 individual breakfasts we had a number of bags each w a different food for 8, eg 8 slices of bread in one bag, 8 pieces of fruit in another. We in were in 2 vehicles and could not take liquids into the departure lounge.
In the plus side, I had some laundry done and that was well done and returned at the expected time.
With a little effort, thought, training and management focus this could be a truly top class hotel but right now it’s frustrating and poor value for money.
The staff were trying really hard but the systems failed them and their guests.

This hotel is rather disgusting.
Very dirty.
Lots of bugs both alive and dead.
Our room appears to not have been cleaned in a very long time.
We were put up here by Rwanda Air as our flight was delayed (again).
We do not want to stay in our room, so currently we are sitting by the pool.
Definitely won’t be eating here and are counting down the hours until we can head to the airport.

- The hotel is very clean and the staff are ever ever ready to listen to the customers, i can mention one of them by the name of Gaju and another tall gentleman who are very kind and have a good customer relation
- The breakfast need to factor in traditional prepared meals
- The TV signals are not very good and need to include more international channels

I was in Kigali on a business trip ( December, 2019 ) and stayed at SCHEBA Hotel.
Like I always do with my reviews, I will break it down in a few bullet points, starting with the positives;
-Good breakfast. Both traditional and International options are available.
-Quiet and Clean
-Averagely priced (for the price, it seemed like a bargain)
-Located in a very good neighborhood of Kigali.
-Stone-throw away from the COD (15-20 walk).
-Gym/Swimming pool
-Hotel does Airport pick ups (free) and drop offs at ($20)
-They have an in room Iron and Ironing board- which I found to be extremely helpful
-They also have a water kettle and a variety of Rwandan tea bags to choose from in the room.
-They accept major international credit cards.
The only point of concern goes to the room entertainment. My TV wasn’t clear, with very little variety in terms of channels to watch. Although the majority of the staff (who are by the way, super friendly) know English, you might meet a few who might not been so proficient. So knowing French would be an absolute bonus, even more stellar if you speak Kinyarwanda.
I highly recommend Scheba Hotel when next in Kigali.
