Despite Kempinski takeover, the tired feel of the hotel has not changed. Rooms are nothing special, suites are quite large though, and amenities 5 star worth. yet the almost-paper walls make sleeping a tough task. The hotel is enjoyable mostly thanks to the great pool and pool-bar. With new hotels to be opened, they will either need to get cheap...

I am writing this from my room and have mixed feelings. I chose the hotel largely due to its history and would probably stay here again. Pool and outside area and views are wonderful and very clean. The hotel is older and the rooms are kind of 3 star; very small bathroom and very old fixtures-they need to update and...

I had been to this hotel on my first visit and liked it better than. I expected much more as it has the Kempinski name now, but was rather disappointed. The staff at front office not professional. One tall slim guy in a black suit with a red tie, I think he was in security, was "too friendly", a nuisance...

Mille Collines is my home address since 20 years while on mission in Rwanda. Athough the hotel is suffering from its age, I like the location in town, the staff, the setting with the bar and swimming pool and the service. I have seen several hotel management chains come and go. Nowadays the hotel is managed by Kempinski, who are...

The hotel aspires to be luxury accomodations but doesn't deliver on this aspiration. The pool and grounds are attractive, the lobby area is modern and also very attractive. The staff is eager to be helpful. But there are a number of things that belie the upscale surroundings. These may or may not affect you and the hotel was a perfectly...

The site of the Hotel Rwanda story and movie is a beautiful property. The gardens, pool and outdoor dining areas are landscaped to create a warm and lush atmosphere. We were met at the reception area with fresh fruit drinks. Escorted to our rooms where the comfort and attention to detail were excellent. A great place to rest, relax and...

I have stayed 27 nights this year and I must say that Mille Collines is the best hotel to stay in Kigali. It not only has a history but also a beautiful environment. Staff is very friendly and professional. The restaurant at the pool is nice to spend afternoons and early evenings. The panorama restaurant at the top floor is...

We decided to try this place for lunch when passing through Kigali on the way to the gorillas. First weird experience was having our car checked for explosives before we were allowed to park, then our bags were x-rayed and we passed through a metal detector. After that we were in a luxury which was a million miles from the...

I have stayed at Hotel des Milles Collines one night only and I think it is a good place. The hotel is ageing quite a bit though. A good refreshment of the rooms and the bathrooms would be very welcome! The rooms was spacious enough and everything worked well. The restaurant and the bar are also very good with a...
