We stayed for one night and it was our most pleasant of three hotels in Senegal. The room, while small, was spotless, comfortable, and modern to the point of being hip. The lobby and lobby bar are quite nice. The pool is pleasant and a spacious enough place to spend an afternoon, though it nothing special. The hotel is in... More

We spent 2 nights at the Novotel in Dakar, Nice location and hip decor. Nice pool and excellent breakfast. Rooms were clean and nicely appointed. Quite. Despite the fact that the hotel was empty, and I asked for a room with a view (IN FRENCH), we were given a room overlooking a wall. Mattresses were very narrow. The hotel is... More

I have travelling to Dakar since 2005 and i checked in this hotel more than once, before 2009 it was awful, but since 2009 they re-innovated this hotel and it was really a big difference, the internet is still very slow but the food is good not huge buffet but its not bad. If I'm in Africa I would like to be in a hotel that gives a safe envinroment as if I'm at a western country. Amneties , food , room, pool , lobby , parking area, service : All quite do thier job at that hotel. Ther hotel itself is near the sea, sourounded by bussiness buildings. I took a walking... More

I travel frequently in Africa and am often dismayed to pay top dollar to stay in international chains, only to find that the actual hotels are far from the standard I would expect from those chains elsewhere in the world. Novotel Dakar is the exception to this rule - it is clean, modern, functional, has polite and efficient staff, and... More

Location: This place is okay, but it's not very convenient. It's close to the USAID office and the ferry port to Gore Island, but there's no other reason to be in this part of town. The quality of the neighborhoods can change quickly within a few blocks, so there are better options nearby. Hotel Quality: The staff tried very hard... More

This is a good palce in a good location at a reasonable price. Clean rooms, ok breakfast, good service at counter and good room service. But it is a place that could be anywhere in world and has no local flavour at all.

We recently stayed at the Novotel for a long 4-day weekend visit. We are American expats living in Lagos, and we wanted to have a change of scenery at a destination easy to travel to for a long weekend. The Novotel was a great choice for visiting the city. right next to the Marche Kermel market and the ferry to... More

I give the Novotel a 5, it was excellent. And inexpensive. Generally when I get home, I am excited to sleep in my own bed - but this time I found myself missing the bed at Novotel. Down comforters, down pillows, high threadcount sheets, firm mattresss... the flat screen TV was also nice, although it could use more English speaking... More
