I am a real fan of this place, even though I have only spent a limited amount of time there. The décor is completely wild, random and creative, and the space is somewhat rustic with an incredible view of the water. I hear it’s one of the best spots in Senegal for sundown. There is a somewhat infinity pool overlooking...

Very idiosyncratic place with some bizarre architecture. But that gives it character. If you normally like your hotels more corporate, then don't stay here! However, it is friendly and efficient and the sea view rooms are delightful places to sleep with the sound of the waves and a cooling breeze. Food is basic. Pool is not for small children. And...

I staid 3 nights at the Sokhamon for a workshop. The meeting room was OK, quite basic but at least well air-conditioned and full of light. The staff is punctual in arranging for the coffee and cakes during breaks. Breakfast is a bit monotonous and quite limited while lunch is unexpectedly good. Honest food, well prepared and in adult portions....

So upon arrival I wasn't sure what I was in for, but after a few days I could see the effort put into the artistic decor that surrounded me. It's a great place to stay, nice ocean breeze and nice staff. But as I was here for business I needed reliable internet, working aircon (for working in room) etc. it...

The Hotel Sokhamon is located on the sea , in a residential area of Dakar. It has generous rooms, artistic design, of an undefined periode. This means a mixture of elements of presumably local type, some new interpretations of art nouveaux, which was built in a time which is difficult to estimate. The swimming pool is located overlooking the sea...

Room 302 had an ocean view, kept the window open and lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves on the shore. Enjoyed doing laps in the long (potentially Olympic but didnt measure to be sure) infinity pool. Walking distance to many good restaurants in plateau and great, safe jogging in the vicinity.

I’ve never stayed in a hotel similar to the Sokhamon. When coming to Dakar we did not want to stay in any of the stereotype hotels of the big hotel chains but a genuine African hotel with a personal touch. The Sokhamon definitely lived up to it. It’s organic architecture and heavy design made this place very special. The dark...

This place gets this rating for the weird architecture and fantastic view. The service is uneven. First the guard wanted to refuse us access because the car rear door would not open. Eventually a staff member came and let us in. I suggested that maybe their security measures are over the top and that Al-Qaida will never know about the...

They host some great after work music events on Fridays (usually done by 830/9pm), they start early, and they finish early. The nems are excellent. Just the right combination of savory sweet and spicey! There are excellent sunset views on the ocean.

So first, they gave the keys of MY room to someone else, while I was in the room with my baby. Then the AC is not working... in Senegal, that is not alright. I called to get it fixed in the morning and they didnt send anyone, I called again because my baby started to have heat rushes and they...
