The title says it all. Located right across from the National Theater and lots of good food options. Short walk to city center area. Rooms very simple with shared bathrooms. Seemed very clean and quiet. I stay here a lot when through Kampala.

Stayed for one night. Good central location close to many buses to Nairobi. Room was adequate and not too noisy. Shared bathroom had good amount of hot water and were clean. Restaurant downstairs was still open when I arrived at 8pm but was out of beef, chicken sandwich and chips was standard.

Located right in the centre of Kampala with banks, restaurants, shopping centres all within a 5 minute walk. Staff are very friendly but the restaurant is a bit slow but there's plenty of other eating options along the street. The twin and triple rooms are the nicest, I think they include rooms 120-124.

We stayed at New City Annex when visiting Kampala and whilst it isn't pretty it is a great base. The rooms are affordable and clean, the showers warm and the beer cold. Very near to the malls and some good restaurants.

I have visited New City Annex maybe about 5 times now. So far, I've used a 3-bed-room(not self-contained) and a single self-contained room. It wasn't until my last two visits where I felt quite disappointed with New City Annex. The very day I complimented staff on how good this place is location-wise and budget-wise, I experienced some disappointment from the...

The staff are really nice and accommodating, which is more than you can say for most cheap places here. Does that mean the sheets and towels are clean? Let's hope so. Speaking of which, getting laundry done is really cheap and convenient. My favorite room is the triple 123, mostly because the Towel People are right next door. Without them,...

Where do I start? This place in its entiety is awful. I arrived here at 8pm after two flights and a crazy scary matatu ride only to be told by reception, that my booking wasn't existent. I not only called a week prior but I followed up by an email too. I booked for the cheapest room and was put...

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. The location is perfect- right next to the national theater and walking distance from GREAT restaurants and bars. Even though its in the city it is surprisingly quiet. Also they have a secure safe for all of your valuables. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Each room had a fan...

I stay here often when traveling through Kampala as do other Peace Corps volunteers. Windowless single rooms are 25k. Two single beds run around 40k. It's a good location within walking distance of the taxi park, craft markets and western malls and atms. There's a courtyard in the middle to have a beer and shared hot showers and bathrooms.

I've stayed here twice and had two completely different experiences, but after my first I gave it another try and was glad that I did. My first time at New City was on New Years Eve and I didn't get more than a few minutes sleep because of all the noise and excitement happening outside my the window of my...

“My favorite room is 118 (triple room) on the North Wing near reception because it has a balcony. The other triples in the south wing are nice too, especially 123 in the corner because it has many windows.”
