The Food was great! The staff members were courteous and friendly. The gym was also good with nice instructors. However, the rooms were oldish, worn out, the beds were worn out and uncomfortable as well. The WIFI was terribly slow. The laundry service was terrible as well. A few of my clothes were damaged

I am Kenyan, I once went to Africana with a white colleague of mine. There is a guard stationed at the lift going to the rooms on the left side as you are from the garden. I stayed there for about 2 months and more than 3 times the guard stopped me and asked me several questions like where am...

With so many hotels in the city, cannot stand the competition. Pros: Very convenient location in the city center for business, very big, clean, spacious rooms Cons: Room card was not working and had to go to 6th floor and down 4 times in order to convince them that there was a problem with the lock(they finally gave me another...

We stayed here two nights, on our first night into Uganda and our last night. I chose it because of the proximity to the mall next door and the costs. The hotel has a guarded gate that checked everything that came in the complex and the staff were great, very warm and inviting. Our room was lacking though. Since we...

Stayed in the Africana for 5 days in May/June 2016 attending a major regional conference. The room price/special package for conference participants was good for Kampala circumstances ($90 a night). Rooms, however, are rather dated. Carpets, furniture and especially bathrooms are in urgent need for refurbishment. All furniture is also “seriously” tagged with engraved codes/tags. There must be some serious...

The Africana is alright, it just seems to miss the mark in many respects. As a convention hotel there seems a lot going on all the time, so if you want a quiet half hour on a longer by the pool you may (if you time it badly) find yourself in speedos surrounded by several hundred suited delegates from an...

Stayed at this place for 2 nights. Hotel is also a large convention center with rooms, pool etc. I noted the pool was closed when I was there. What bugged me though was their water management issues. Water leaked into my room during a very strong rain storm forming quite a puddle. It is unclear why that did not drain...

I enjoyed staying at this hotel! Our room was at the 9th floor and it was nice to have a view over the city. The room was clean and spacious. The mosquitoe net in the room was good but there was some space between the net and the wall; but I have to say I didn't spot any mosquitoe during...

Rooms are good in new wing but you need to walk alot from the reception to reach your room. The hotel spread is horizontal so its very tiresome to walk for 5 to 6 mins. Indian Food is available nearby. Breakfast is good.
