The best guest house in Kathmandu, placed inside the monastery property, with a beautiful garden restaurant and cafe. Food is amazing. IT is a very peaceful place, and very close to Buddha Stupa. Love it

Shechen is a great place where you will meet so many amazing people, the staff and the restaurant are great. The rooms are simple but nice and clean. It is a peaceful and quiet place, I recommend it 100% it is without a doubt a beautiful experience and I would go back there again and again.

I have lived at Shechen Guest House for months at a time and have often housed large groups of visitors there. The rooms are spacious and clean, with parquet flooring and decent bathrooms. Reports that the rooms are dirty -- mentioned by other reviewers -- are simply untrue, in my experience. Likewise, claims that the rooms are too expensive for... More

Scarry. I was hopeing that I would get another outlook on buddhism and it settings. That was what I came here for. I was recommended Shetshen. But it deffenetly did not broden my horison. And not many things can broden theirs! Dirty rooms, a Little, but that is Kathmandu.

This was a very enjoyable trip. We are usually in Thamel but wanted something in KTM that was a little quieter. The rooms are basic as always, but some nice touches with Nepali textiles and thermos flask. There is wifi, but it is a bit patchy - given the outages - it was sometimes only good enough to email if... More

I would recommend Shechen Guest House as a quiet escape from Kathmandu's hustle and bustle. The rooms are simple and clean, with attached bathrooms. Hot water isn't reliable as it relies on a solar system, if the weather isn't sunny the water won't be hot. I had one very refreshing cold shower! Breakfast is included and is plenty. Great to... I spent my first 2 nights in Nepal here and have found this a peaceful place in which to recover from jetlag and from which to explore Boudha and Pashupatinath on foot without having to deal with taxis. The rooms are monastically simple, the hot water is restricted, so is electricity, but you can charge devices at the reception at... More

Everything here attracted me to come back again, the helpful staffs, peace and tranquility , beautiful garden and the convenient location. The price of room is inclusive of breakfast and personally I find it very reasonable. The guesthouse is beside Shechen Monastery. You can visit the gompa at certain time of the day and beside the gompa there is a... More
