I really liked the hotel's structure; it could have been part of a Wes Anderson film. Both the interior and exterior of the building have been carefully restored. Hallways can be a bit dim, but the room I stayed in was spacious. Concierge could've been...More
We really enjoyed our four day stay in this magnificent old building even with renovations going. The staff were very attentive and really looked after us. The food was excellent and the whole stay was good value for money.

hi. stayed there in June this year. It is a historic building so yes it is old but it is a former Palace so its a beautiful building. We had a suite so can't tell you about the standard rooms. It is undergoing a substantial renovation of the main portico and entrance lobby and the garden facing rooms but this did not detract from my stay. The manager said the renovation was due to be finished in August. The breakfast had a buffet style and I believe they had Indian vegetarian items. But I cannot be certain. Suggest you drop them an email. I found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful. The hotel felt like an oasis away from the dust of Kathmandu and was well placed for Thamel, and Durbar Square.
