For post earthquake Nepal Grand Hotel is a good choice if you don't want to stay in Thamel. It's near the Crowne Plaza Soaltee so there's quite a few shops with typical Nepali souvenirs just outside the door if you're not spending much time in Kathmandu. The rooms are fine. Spent a month at the Grand Hotel. Very friendly staff and excellent service all the way. Nice "a la carte" or buffet dinning A big thanks to Amir, the manager who let me feel like home! Highly recommended place to stay.

I stayed at Grand Hotel for 5 nights. I was a part of a research team who went to Kathmandu to study earthquake response. The hotel is not placed at city center therefore the surrounding is not much crowded. The air pollution and traffic is less than the center areas. This is one of the best Hotel in Kathmandu Valley I've stayed in. The staffs, specially in front desk are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are very clean, the bed is great, and there are actual choices of rooms. I visit frequently Kathmandu & I always stay in this hotel. Last I visited on 21st May 2015 just after earthquake. This hotel is earthquake proof I don’t find any crack or damage in this hotel. I stayed there for just one night with my family and one other family. The hotel is good. The rooms were good and very well maintained. The service also seems to be very good. The staff were cooperative.

All the Hotel stuffs were very good. Guest relation Officer Ms. Kopila was also very nice to inform about their scoops and facilities to serve something better. The rooms are spacious & clean. The April earthquake has not damaged the Hotel at all. Cabs are available outside the all day. There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby. Hi, i stayed for 3 nights in june'15. The staff were excellent in service. Range of food is a concern ,there is only limited variety. The hotel arranged me pickup and drop at a very nominal rate. Rest it is worth for money. A Special thanks to Guest relation person
