Well known people have stayed in this lodge which has made it somewhat famous (and this can generate a feeling of 'greatness' or 'extra satisfaction' when you stay there!). This is perhaps the greatest selling point. Reaching the lodge by a raft across the inlet of the lake is exciting. Lodge is cut off from the crowded areas of Pokhara....

Quite a few descriptions of Pokhara and Fishtail Lodge say its one of the worlds most scenic places. That could be true if your world doesn’t extend beyond the rubbish strewn chaos of Kathmandu or Delhi. The views are good but Pokhara, like most ‘towns’ I’ve passed through in India and Nepal, leaves a lot to be desired. If half...

Staying at Fishtail was part of a tailor made itinerary for us. Getting to it was quite an experience but the setting was beautiful. Just a shame it was beautifully warm...and the pool was not open.....could so have done with a swim. Massage is a must!! Just amazing.....but not a great deal to do and 3 nights was a night...

This hotel is a bit of a novelty when staying in Pokhara. While the raft to get to the hotel is cool, the trade off it is quite a decent walk out of the main bit of the tourist zone. The view across the lake is something really special, especially if you get up early enough to watch the sunrise

Fishtail is a great place to stay away from the business of pokhara but within walking distance of everything. The rooms are spacious and the gardens very well looked after. Coming and going from the hotel on the small pontoon adds another little frisson - and adds to the feeling of getting away from it all. It was inter when...
