From outward appearances, the hotel seems to be quite reasonable. However, on repeated occasions, the hotel staff have overcharged me by asking to pay twice, or to pay for a room already paid for in advance. Only through the intervention of a third party / authority have we then been successful in getting a refund for the overcharged amount. I...

We were several days in this hotel by invitation of the Taiwanese civil service (who are in the same building!), so I have no idea about prices.... :) However, we liked the hotel. Rooms were big and excellent, soundproof and with good airco. Very good bed. Breakfest was okay (but not very special, as more often in Taiwan do not...

The room was quite simple, with a single bed, a fridge, table and bathroom. Not very spacious though. The reception staffs spoke English and helped to get taxis as necessary. The room also has an AC. The room service was good and prompt. The buffet for breakfast, lunch, dinner are quite good in the restaurant. There were lots of options...

This room was booked for me and I only stayed three days but it was quite pleasant. I had a single room with a single bed which was quite comfortable. I could adjust the temperature as needed so sleeping was no problem even when it was hot. The room and attached bathroom were quite clean and the buffet for breakfast...

I stayed here for 3 nights attending a Buddhist retreat. I used to live in Taipei (83-85) so speak a bit of Mandarin. This is more a business or conferance type hotel not a 5 star hotel which is fine as you are paying a fair rate. Staff are attentive. Rooms are simple but clean and all works well. As...

The hotel was booked for us, so I can't comment on the price. We stayed in a suite and found it very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast buffet was great and surroundings were pleasant. Convenient services were available onsite, including a laundromat and store, as well as free wifi. The highlight was definitely the full-size swimming pool and hot tub.

So I'm back at the Howard Civil Service house for another conference. This time round I booked a suite (two of us staying there this time) as my needs were a bit different. The suites are lovely, however the room seemed to have problems with it's water supply. One morning there was no hot water and on other days the...

I stayed here on a business trip, visiting National Taiwan University which is just a few hundred yards down the street. I wasn't footing the bill, but I can say that the rooms - I stayed some of the time in a double and then in a single - were comfortable and quiet, and I found the staff helpful. One...

The first indicator that this place had fallen off a cliff is the room key was held together with scotch tape. Then I noticed the cardboard holder where they write your room number had been reused several times. They write in pencil and reads it each time. I saw 3 single rooms on 2 floors before asking to leave. Carpets...

I was at the hotel for a week for business trip. Pro Rooms are nice. Easy to find cab to & from hotel. Cons: Hardly few staff speak English. Internet policy and service & price is pathetic. Does not have any decent option for vegan.
