This is really a GRAND hotel. The style and architecture is beautiful. While this is an older hotel, we found it very comfortable, clean and stylish. We loved the views and had a lovely dinner in the restaurant. We enjoyed the live music in the opulent lobby too.

This locale will no doubt resonate more with Chinese than with foreigners, but I would urge any westerners coming through to also give it a try. I was a student in Taiwan in an earlier era and my wife and I are here visiting friends. The hotel was built in the 50s and at the time was the biggest thing...

Stayed at this overrated hotel towards the end of Chinese New Year. Reception and other staff clueless in trying to check-in a party of nine, occupying five rooms. Michelin must base their star rating ONLY on food.

The Grand Hotel Taipei lives up to its name, reputation and history.. My partner and I treated ourselves on our last night in Taiwan and we were rewarded to a lifetime memory. The Executive Suite had two very large rooms as well as a dressing room between the bedroom and WC. All three rooms had access to a connecting balcony....

because of the historical and culture connections of this hotel, it is probably a must try for many people of Chinese origin. The overall stay is good. Architecture and decor are quite unique,So I do enjoy the stay. But because I may have stayed in the budge room, it is not luxurious and feel a little bit dated. The a la...

My husband always wanted to stay at this hotel having seen it from afar as a young boy. We stayed one night in a deluxe room. It was everything that we expected in a landmark hotel. The room was spacious with a very large balcony. Alas no seating on the balcony. The interior of the hotel is quite large so...

We came here for sightseeing. Our driver recommended this place and we stopped by to take a look. The decor is extremely oriental, red and gold seems to be the domineering Colours. Suitable for elderly and people who loves oriental decor. This hotel was built initially for Chiang Kai-shek to accommodate foreign dignitaries. Lee Kuan Yew, Nelson Mandela, Margaret Thatcher,...

The Grand is a very unique hotel and a genuine piece of Taiwanese history. It was Chiang Kai Shek's idea to create a landmark hotel to welcome foreign dignitaries visiting Taiwan and since the main building was completed in the 1970s, it has been a true Taipei landmark, which many people come to visit. The buildings are humbling and palatial,...
