If like me you're not into multi-star glitz - where you could be anywhere in the world, but prefer the opportunity to experience more of the local atmosphere without sacrificing the essential home comforts, then the Hotel Salil in Soi 8 should suit you down to the ground. Located almost at the end of a surprisingly quiet street, running off...

This is my fourth stay at the Salil in 2 years which says a lot about how satisfied I am with the Salil Soi 8. The rooms are quite large for the tariff you pay. The breakfast is very nice with some different dishes every day. Soi 8 is a destination in itself. Although the golf cart is available walk...

It is a central placed small hotel with good access to the BTS which makes it comfortable to go in any wanted direction. The rooms are normal sized, clean and well decorated. They have an built-in lockers to store important documents/belongings. Since it is quite deep in the Soi, I wasn't disturbed by any sound. Convinient is also the free...

I went to Bangkok and stayed at Salil during Chinese New Year 2013 with my family. The service by their staff was great. I feel so comfortable there. The room is big enough to fit 2 and all your luggage. Location wise it is near to Nana BTS station, but you'll need to take some walk. However the hotel provide...

This hotel is really really "pretty" its also in a great spot, at the end of the soi but only 5 minutes walk to the main strip. The hotel will run you up in their Tuk Tuk but it wqsnt going when we stayed. Rooms are a little small but everything you need. Had a really early flight out and...

We needed a clean hotel for a one night stay in Bangkok to get ready to travel to Kanchanaburi the day after. Salil Soi 8 is perfectly located in the busy Nana area, in a very quite side street. The check in was smooth (although I was a little bet irritated for the front office requesting my credit card despite...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
