This is my hotel of choice in Bangkok.
Was very impressed with the prompt attention the Manager gave me today and ensured that I was comfortable.

I was able to visit Bangkok in May of 2018 and I choose to stay at the Ibis Sukhumvit 4.

If you are black skin you do not deserve early check-in at IBIS, unless you pay 700 Baht extra, just after me a white man checked in (early check in) no charges with warm smiley welcome, " blacks you don't deserve better wait till 2o...More
Conveniently located near BTS and restaurants. The staffs were extremely helpful and room exceed expectations. Highly recommended if wanting to stay away from touristy Platinum Mall. Will stay here again
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's
hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

As for taxi, I use the other airport so I don’t know the price. As already suggested, negotiate price before hand . Or insist on meter.
