After reading all the strong reviews for this hotel, I was a bit disappointed. My wife and I stayed there for five nights. The staff is friendly and professional, but I wouldn't say they are exceptional when compared to other hotels I've visited in Asia. Because it's a boutique hotel, I didn't expect it to have the amenities of a...

This is a smallish, boutique hotel. Its location is its greatest asset. The room size was acceptable as well as the furnishings. Staff are friendly and spoke English well. The negatives are that the air-con is a little noisy, and that the breakfast area is very small, and the buffet was very limited. The price is good, so all in...

Thailand is called the land of smiles -- well the SilQ Bangkok should be called the hotel of smiles -- it represents all the best that one could expect in a service-based industry. It is a lovely boutique hotel with the best of personal attention that one could expect. We had first heard about the SilQ from someone we knew...

We really enjoyed our stay, due to the smiling, friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble, always a smile and we were sad to leave after 5 days there. It is close to transport so easy to get around Bangkok. The breakfast area is clean and modern and the breakfast is varied and tasty. We had lunch there...

I visit Bangkok regularly for work, and normally stay elsewhere in Sukhumvit. I was glad to have tried SilQ for 3 nights on my most recent visit. It's a lovely boutique hotel conveniently located down Soi 19 about 5 minutes walk from the Asoke BTS. The rooms are slightly small, but well-appointed with very comfortable beds, good bathroom, and flat-screen...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
