The Bhuthorn is an enigma. This is a three bedroomed B&B; the ground floor bedroom is not great but has hot water, the upstairs bedroom is glorious in Colonial style, but there is no hot water in this room so cold showers only. We complained - there was no apology and no attempt to put this right. There are no...

I recently spent three nights in Bangkok on my way back to the UK from traveling elsewhere in south-east Asia. I chose the Bhuthorn because of its location - in old Bangkok away from the busier parts of the city but still close to some of my favourite places including Wat Arun, Wat Prakeow and Ratchadamnoen Road with its beautiful...

Simply stated, The Bhuthorn is superb. The care and attention to detail was unmatched by any other hotel we visited during our three-week vacation to Southeast Asia. After 30+ hours of traveling from the United States, it was absolutely blissful to fall asleep in the clean, cool comfort of The Bhuthorn. The staff was amazing, particularly Trisha, going out of...

Lovely stay at this peacefull hotel in the middle of hectic Bangkok. With all the major attractions of old town Bangkok within a a short walk ~1km. I can recommend the Thai breakfast if you've grown accustomed to having rice for breakfast. The complimentary traditional afternoon tea is another major plus! All in all a great hotel in the middle...

This 3 rooms bed and breakfast is decorated traditionally, so don't expect the luxury western standards. Manager is a little lady full of good will that can also provide you with some information about the city. Location is great, among the local Thai people and close to all the temples. Overall a charming experience. Big minus is that taxis have...

Great little B&B in a very quiet and relaxed part of old town Bangkok, walking distance from all major attractions. We stayed in the Bhuthorn room, which is a spacious and beautifully decorated room with a very classical feel to it. The whole B&B (an old shophouse) breathes this classical and old style Bangkok feeling. Staff is young and friendly....

The hotel is a small oasis very close to the royal palace and the old Bangkok (hard to find by taxi drivers but the hotel will provide you all the help needed as soon as you book). It is silent and cozy place, with nice breakfast. However, it feels very small. There is no common area that can be called...

What a wonderful place to stay if you like artistically decorated classic surroundings, antique furniture and curios, beautiful plants, quiet spaces, good food, and caring staff--all in Old Town Bangkok! Arriving after midnight via car service from the airport, we were greeted by a friendly, caring manager who ushered into our Victorian style room which was complete with fresh cut...

What a hidden gem in "Old Town" Bangkok. Hidden due to the fact that our airport transfer, local taxi drivers and tour guide had trouble finding this excellent Hotel. However once you arrived you knew you had have made the right choice. Located in a local neighborhood made the experience even more wonderful, while still being close enough to walk...

We stayed at the Bhuthorn at the end of our honeymoon. I had stayed in Bangkok before and did not love the experience but this place made me fall in love with the wonderful Bangkok. Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
